The nearest station is Matsushima-Kaigan Station, about a 50-minute train ride from Sendai. Matsushima Island Matsushima, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan is a very popular spot for Japanese locals as a spot where you can take a cruise! You can get there in about an hour from Sendai and the cruise costs 1,500 yen for adults! I took a cruise that took about 40 minutes to Shiogama! The cruise wasn't that impressive but it's a meaningful place, so I recommend it if you're traveling to Sendai! On Matsushima Street, there were special products using Sendai's famous zunda and kamaboko and you could grill and eat the kamaboko yourself!
