Huai Ta Bo Reservoir is located in Namtok Phliu National Park Protection Unit 2 (Ban Ang), Makham Subdistrict, Makham District, Chanthaburi Province. It is a popular natural tourist attraction for tourists who want to experience the beauty of nature in a peaceful atmosphere. It has been nicknamed “Pang Ung of Chanthaburi”.
Topography and Atmosphere
The surrounding area of Huai Ta Bo Reservoir is surrounded by forests and green plants. The atmosphere is shady and cool. Especially during the rainy season, there will be a thin mist floating above the water, creating a beautiful scenery suitable for taking pictures and relaxing.
Tourist Activities
Tourists can set up tents to stay overnight in the area prepared by the park, which has bathrooms, activity areas, viewpoints, and complete basic facilities. Popular activities include relaxing by the reservoir, taking pictures of nature, and hiking to study nature in the surrounding area.
Opening hours and fees
Huai Ta Bo Reservoir is open daily from 08.30 – 16.00 hrs.
From October 1, 2024 onwards, the following fees will be collected:
Thais: Adults 40 baht, Children 20 baht
Foreigners: Adults 200 baht, Children 100 baht
Getting there
From Chanthaburi town, take Highway No. 317 (Chanthaburi – Sa Kaeo) towards Makham District. When you reach the Pak Saeng intersection, turn right at the Esso gas station and follow the signs to the ranger station, where officers will be ready to welcome you and provide additional information.
Advice
Since this area is a nature reserve, visitors should strictly follow the park’s regulations and check the park’s opening hours in advance for convenience in traveling and staying.
