The homestay has its own small kitchen, the ingredients are fresh, especially the local eggs and corn coarse grains in the mountains, which are particularly fragrant, and you can also taste the local snacks and traditional dishes. Play style: During your trip in Liuba, you can also go to the Lion's Gully Ranch and Lover's Valley can be played in one day. Lion's Gully Ranch is a free attraction, where you can enjoy the natural ranch, walk with cattle and sheep, and it's a good place to sunbathe. The poetic and idyllic scenes in our friends' social media posts are, after all, someone else's story. Only by experiencing it ourselves can we appreciate the beauty of the world that is unique to us. So, a spontaneous trip was born, without too much planning, just enjoying the scenery wherever we go. We traveled over 800 kilometers, arriving first at the Zhouzhi Water Street Yanhuo Alley. Here, small bridges and flowing water resemble lines of poetry, while the grey tiles and colorful lanterns look like a painting. During the day, it exudes an ancient charm, quiet and simple; at night, neon lights flicker, draping the water street in a gorgeous coat. Amidst the glittering lights, it's like a guest dressed to the nines, dazzling and eye-catching. The vibrant atmosphere is not only about the people and the scenery, but also the food. The water street at night is full of life, while during the day, after shedding its glamorous attire, it gains tranquility but loses some of its bustling ambiance. From Zhouzhi, we followed the Meitai Line, passing through Gaojiang Road and the most beautiful mountain villages along the way. Unfortunately, we arrived a little early, before the peak season, and missed the spectacular scenery of the colorful forests, leaving a slight regret in our hearts. We must come back in late autumn to immerse ourselves in that captivating beauty. In the evening, we settled in Liuba County. An old street in the county town, brightly lit, has become a popular spot for tourists. The Qinling Mountains divide the south and the north. Starting from Hunan, we passed through Hubei and then to Shaanxi, enjoying the autumn scenery around the Qinling Mountains. There are many scenic spots worth visiting along the way, especially the Zibai Mountain winding road from National Highway G316 to Liuba County. The S-shaped bends are numerous and steep, perfect for experienced drivers. However, friends with less driving experience should prioritize safety and choose carefully. From Liuba County, we headed south to Guangwu Mountain, a 5A scenic spot in Nanjiang County, Sichuan Province. Despite the unfavorable weather and drizzle, it didn't dampen our spirits for sightseeing. The autumn wind swept through, scattering fallen leaves, and the red leaves felt as familiar as old friends. When we left Guangwu Mountain, the rain was still falling, and the mountain air was exceptionally fresh, shrouded in mist. We were in the car, driving through the fog, a beautiful scene difficult to capture with a phone, so we etched it deeply in our minds. Continuing our journey, we arrived at Enyang Ancient Town. Here, we dined, checked in, and toured the ancient town. Besides its commercial atmosphere, the ancient town is also filled with the rich local life. Scenes of friends gathering around a stove for tea, ear cleaning, and playing mahjong are common. Both locals and tourists can easily blend in. After the tour, we drove for over two hours to Dazhou, our destination for the third day. After settling into our accommodation, we went to Luofu Square for a hearty dinner, concluding a fulfilling day. From Dazhou, we headed to Pengshui Miao and Tujia Autonomous County in Chongqing. We made a brief stop at Wulong on the way, but since the scenic spot's parking lot was full, we abandoned our plans to visit and went straight to Pengshui Chiyou Jiuli City. This is not a popular attraction, so there weren't many tourists. It is the largest Miao traditional architectural complex in China. The Jiuli Divine Pillar is the tallest and largest Miao totem pole in the world, and the Jiuli Palace is the tallest and largest stilt house in the world. Looking out from a high vantage point, the mountains are shrouded in mist, and the unique architectural style offers a distinctive charm. When visiting a city, besides admiring the scenery, tasting the local cuisine is a must. In Pengshui, we found a highly-rated restaurant online called Zaodongjia. After navigating a maze of streets, we arrived at the restaurant and found it incredibly busy, requiring reservations in advance. After a long discussion with the owner, we were finally given an outdoor table. However, the food here was delicious and affordable, highly recommended. In Pengshui, there is also a forgotten scenic spot called Ayi River. Surrounded by mountains and flowing rivers, it integrates mountains, water, forests, springs, and canyons, combining grandeur, wonder, danger, beauty, and tranquility, making it an ideal place to escape the summer heat. Although drifting is not possible in this season, strolling along the river reveals crystal-clear water, lush vegetation shrouded in mist, cliffs and rocks of various shapes, and waterfalls cascading down the mountains, seemingly able to cure all worries. Gongtan Ancient Town, next to the Wujiang Gallery, is a 4A-level scenic spot. Built along the water, the wooden stilt houses offer the best views of the river. During the day, it's a commercial street for tourists; at night, the bright lights adorn the ancient town in a splendid attire, making it exceptionally beautiful. In Youyang, Chongqing, the Dieshi Flower Valley is filled with Muhlenbergia capillaris, swaying in the wind like a pink sea of flowers, creating a romantic atmosphere. The pink and rosy scenery seems to dispel all the regrets of autumn, making people believe that all good things will come unexpectedly. During the trip, each city has its unique scenery and customs. Whether we can appreciate and blend in varies from person to person, but the food is definitely not to be missed. During the seven-day National Day holiday, we started from Hunan, passed through Hubei, Shaanxi, Sichuan, and Chongqing, and then returned to Hunan. This spontaneous trip, with its on-the-go planning, emphasized spontaneity and freedom. Despite the less-than-ideal weather, it didn't affect our enjoyment at all. We climbed mountains, crossed rivers, enjoyed the autumn scenery, admired the colorful foliage, stayed in hotels and guesthouses, tasted local delicacies, and visited many niche but beautiful attractions. It was undoubtedly a joyful and memorable journey.

✅️ The best place to escape the summer heat is southern Shaanxi! 🌲 Zibai Mountain, Shizigou, and Lovers' Valley in Hanzhong's Liuba County are all on my list. I've already been to Zibai Mountain twice. ⛰️ After Altay became popular, Shizigou is also worth a visit. It's a great place to take photos. ✅️ I did a lot of research and found Yu Shan B&B. The location is perfect, right at the intersection of these scenic spots. It's about a 5-minute drive from Shizigou. It's about a 15-minute drive from Zibai Mountain. It's especially comfortable for families with children and the elderly. It's not tiring at all, and my family loved it. ✅️ We stayed in two rooms with double beds and a projector, and watched "The Story of Rose." Waking up to beautiful scenery is amazing. Breakfast is included and ready whenever you wake up. They have their own chef 🧑‍🍳 and the food is delicious. The price is reasonable, about 30–50 yuan per person. 💰 They have their own vegetable garden, so all the vegetables are homegrown. I would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Liuba.

| Zhang Liang Temple. ◾️Zhang Liang Temple, also known as Han Zhang Liuhou Temple, is located in Miaotaizi Village, Liuhou Town, Liuba County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located at the foot of Zibai Mountain on the southern slope of the Qinling Mountains and is a historical site with a history of more than 1,800 years. It is a temple dedicated to the outstanding ancient strategist Zhang Liang and is the largest and best-preserved temple dedicated to Zhang Liang in China. ◾️Zhang Liang is a name of great importance in Chinese history. Zhang Liang, courtesy name Zifang, was a minister of the early Han Dynasty and an important strategist of the Western Han Dynasty. He assisted Liu Bang in establishing the Han Dynasty and was known as one of the Three Heroes of the Han Dynasty along with Xiao He and Han Xin. When the Western Han Dynasty was established, Zhang Liang retired. After Liu Bang became the founding emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, he conferred the title of Marquis of Jin on Zhang Liang. Liu Bang once said of him: "He strategizes in the tent and wins battles from a thousand miles away." After assisting Liu Bang in establishing the Han Dynasty, Zhang Liang chose to retire here, where he built a temple and devoted himself to Taoism, eventually becoming an immortal. Because Zhang Liang's title was "Marquis of Liu," this small county town at the foot of Zibai Mountain in the depths of the Qinling Mountains was named "Liuba" after him, a name that has been used ever since. ◾️The ancient architectural complex of Zhang Liang Temple is built on the mountain, following the natural terrain. The buildings blend with the mountains and forests, combining northern palaces with southern gardens. The nine courtyards are arranged in an orderly manner, with attractions such as the archway, Jinlü Bridge, Sanqing Hall Courtyard, Main Hall Courtyard, North and South Gardens, Baishi Pavilion, Xixin Pool, Grass Pavilion, Cloud Ladder, Shushu Tower, and Bigu Pavilion. The museum houses a wealth of cultural relics and historical materials, with numerous ancient buildings, cliff inscriptions, stone tablets, plaques, couplets, and other cultural heritage. The architectural style is unique, allowing visitors to experience a strong historical and cultural atmosphere. The parking lot at Zhang Liang Temple Scenic Area is small and cannot accommodate large crowds during the National Day holiday. Visitors' cars can only park on the side of the road. | Taizi Ridge. ◾️Taizi Ridge is centered around a pristine ecological area in southern Liuba. With an average altitude of over 1,500 meters, the temperature is lower, and the autumn colors are the first to appear on the mountain peaks. The entire mountain range is painted in vibrant hues, making it the first area in Liuba to experience the stunning red leaves of autumn. It is widely recognized as the most breathtaking autumn scenery in Liuba. Unfortunately, we visited at the wrong time, and Taizi Ridge was still green, which was a bit disappointing. ◾️After passing the Liuba Huoshaodian, follow the Qinling Scenic Avenue Shitai Road section to reach the Taizi Ridge area on the south side of Liuba. The road is lined with lush trees, and the sunlight and gentle breeze fill the air with the scent of mountain flowers and plants. Along the way, you'll encounter streams with crystal-clear water flowing from the mountain rocks, rich in minerals, and appearing light blue under the sunlight, creating a beautiful sight. ◾️There is no entrance fee for Taizi Ridge Scenic Area. The current road is a cement road with many curves, but it is relatively wide. At the mountain pass, there is a viewing platform with a small parking lot. Be sure to stop and enjoy the scenery, as it is quite impressive. Climb the stone steps on the left side of the Taizi Ridge mountain pass viewing platform to reach the highest peak viewing platform. This small watchtower is the best place to watch the sea of clouds and sunrise. From the viewing platform, you can see the vast expanse of alpine meadows, pristine forests, cascading waterfalls, pastoral fields, and Qinling homes, capturing the essence of Qinling's most spectacular scenery.

| Liuba Ting Old Street. ◾️ Liuba Old Street is located in the north of Liuba County, with a total length of about 750 meters and a history of more than 200 years. It retains the original Qinba mountain style, with red lanterns, exquisite brick carvings, and ancient old street archways, making people feel like they are traveling through time and space. There are residential houses, specialty snack shops, book bars, inns, and other shops on both sides of the street, full of life. ◾️ Liuba Old Street is sandwiched between mountains on both the north and south sides, with the north being higher and the south lower, and the Zijin River running through the city. The location of Liuba County is very important, and it has always been a place of strategic importance in history. As early as the Qin, Han, and Three Kingdoms periods, there were post stations here. There are ruins of the Shu army camp from the Three Kingdoms period, and wars have never stopped here in history. Liuba County was once called Liuba Ting, so the old street is also called Liuba Ting Old Street. In the past, Ting may have been a special county-level administrative unit. ◾️ This old street, built in the 13th year of the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, allows you to walk on the bluestone road, visit small shops, taste local snacks, and enjoy the tranquility of time. Strolling on the quiet old street, time slows down, and you feel comfortable and free. Sun-drying autumn is a major feature of Liuba Old Street. Villagers use the space in front of and behind their houses, as well as their own windowsills and roofs, to dry or hang crops with bamboo trays, which has also become a background wall for tourists to take photos and a source of inspiration for photographers.

Hanzhong has its own "Little Altay"~ Take a weekend road trip to Shizigou Pasture, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and slow down to enjoy the beauty of this paradise and the peace and tranquility of your heart. P.S.: The pasture is deep in the mountains, so the temperature is low. Check the weather and dress warmly before you go. Try to avoid the May Day and National Day holidays, or you might not have a good time... The best time to visit is August and September. Zibaishan, Zhangliang Temple, Old Street, and Lovers' Valley are all on the same route, so if you have time, you can plan your trip accordingly.
