📍Colchis Fountain The fountain is located in the central square of Kutaisi city center, decorated with 30 animal sculptures. These golden animal sculptures are enlarged versions of artifacts excavated from the Colchis lowlands. The most prominent animal sculptures are the two golden warhorses at the top, inspired by the warhorses of King Aeëtes of Colchis in Greek mythology. There is also a golden lion, an enlarged version of the golden lion artifact unearthed from the Alazani Valley. After returning to the city, I wandered around the local market and found that I could buy 5 of them for 2 lari. Apples, when I first arrived in Tbilisi, I remember spending 2 lari to buy an apple. Later I discovered that buying regular fruits such as apples, bananas and oranges in the city cost roughly 1 lari each. On the fourth day we checked out, the weather was so good that in the back garden of Mtsvanekvavila Church we could clearly see the snow-capped mountains in the distance and the green-roofed Bagrat on the other side of the river. In the afternoon, I went to my favorite bakery and bought a bunch of snacks. I ordered some food at a restaurant along the way to enjoy the sun. Then I strolled to the train station early.
