Getting There - I arrived in Kazan in early September from Istanbul Attractions - Kazan has many attractions but the one I loved to be at was the Kazan Opera with its decorations and outstanding performance shows. I had the opportunity to attend "The Grey Hord", an amazing opera combining Tatar folks and classic dance with a real orchestra. If you plan to visit Kazan check the Kazan Opera website to found out what their schedule. Food & Restaurants - Kazan is a city with full range of all kinds of restaurants. I used to go to this coffee and bakery not far from the Kremlin. It's called Malvic Shopping -Many great shopping malls in the city but the one I went often is called Kazan Mall.

This is a tourist attraction called Tugan Ivylion, a traditional Tatarstan folk village!! While looking for something else to do in Kazan, I heard about a place like a folk village, so I went there ㅎㅎ♥️. You can taste Kazan's traditional food and experience traditional houses!! This is a beautiful building that you can see from the Kremlin above or from the esplanade waterfront. It is the exterior that is worth the look. You are not allowed in side. The architecture and metal tree sculpture in the center doorway are something to see. #givethanks #givethanks

This is really people-watchers' paradise! A broad street, with no traffic, and plenty of people, locals and tourists, lots of families, lots of kids. Apart from that, there are plenty of interesting things to see on this street: the Kazan cat, Catherine the Great's carriage, the dragon monument, etc...etc... Not to mention the numerous restaurants, boutiques etc...etc... The ideal time for a casual stroll down this street is probably in the evening. I walked down the street in daytime, it was quite nice. If you are in Kazan for a couple of days, keep some time aside for this street! Well worth the effort. #givethanks #givethanks

"Kremlin" means "fortress" and that means that there are kremlins in various Russian cities. This is one is amazing with beautiful blue mosque and Orthodox church as well as other interesting buildings. It has a great view over the Volga river and part of the city. A beautiful wrought iron gate includes pagan symbols evoking the very rich history of this region and the fact that people of many different religions live at peace with each other in this well-off academic city and capital of Tartarstan. #givethanks #givethanks

A perfect place for promenade and for watching sunsets. The park is located by Kazanka River and has plenty of cafes and entertainment for kids. You can also rent a bicycle and explore the area riding. The atmosphere is just lovely and the place is very romantic especially during the sunset. A good idea to spend a spring day in Kazan is to take a walk along the Naberezhnaya Ozera Kaban by the lake. It’s a very nice area beautifully decorated and with many water activities such as SAP, catamaran or kayaking. The place is very calm and by the nature that makes it a perfect spot for escape from Jose and big city life. Also it’s a wonderful place for morning exercise if you have power and will. #springwander

Located just on the main street of Kazan, the cathedral may look like a common Orthodox Church. But if you enter it and buy a ticket you can get access to a wonderful observation deck. Moreover climbing the tower itself is very interesting with different views from the different window facing opposite sides and even with the big bells inside. A first place to visit when you are in Kazan! This mosque is truly beautiful and gorgeous both inside and outside. Anyone can enter the mosque just men and women are separated and should be dressed properly. If you are lack in clothes covering your head for example, you can get it for free in front of the entrance. The beauty of inside interior is truly magnificent, highly recommend to enter inside not just to look from outside. Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan is such a wonderful place for spring picnic of for just sitting on a grass and enjoying the view. We went there to have some snack outside but then decided to come in the evening and I highly recommend coming there in the evening as well because this wonderful building has beautiful lights. The perfect park for spring outing by the lake in Kazan, Tatarstan. Although this place might seem not so popular in Kazan but it makes this place calmer and more pleasant even. Just grab something from the nearest cafe, sit on the grass and enjoy the reflections in the water and birds singing. Although the place is located just in the city it’s still like an island of escape. #springwander

A very beautiful building and a photogenic spot. Although we didn’t watch any show at the theatre but still you can enter inside (please!) because it’s magical inside, the architecture is very nice for taking pictures. A wonderful place to experience Tatarstan culture. Here you can explore and learn a lot of new things about the area and people and their cuisine. Also you can try on national clothes and take some pictures in them - that was a really unique experience because the area around is just a perfect place for taking the pictures. An amusement park “Vokrug Sveta” in Kazan has a Ferris wheel the unique and interesting feature of which is that the cabs represent different counties, so depending on the flag on the cab chosen you will listen to local music of that country and the cab will be decorated in national style. Very interesting and cool idea! There are also romantic cabs for dinners as well which is a nice option for couples. #springwander

A small but super interesting ethnographic museum in Kazan! Here you can not only know about traditional sweet - chak-chak, but also see the local clothes and house inside, listen to interesting stories and even listen to live national song! It was such a great experience with tea and chak-chak degustation. Recommendation: book a ticket in advance because they are limited and when we came first time we couldn’t go inside on the same date. So advance booking is recommended! One of the symbols of Kazan is Kazan Wedding Palace located on the bank of Kazanka river. Exterior, sculptures around and architecture are just beautiful and very impressive. The building itself resembles Kazan - a cauldron symbolizes abundance and fertility. There is an observatory on the top, you have to buy a ticket to enter it. The place is very populist for weddings. The Republic of Tatarstan is the main settlement area for Tatars in Russia. Initially, the land was inhabited by the Volga Bulgars, a Turkic people.
