Then we took a cable car up, and the view became even more breathtaking. We hiked around the lake and up the mountain for three hours. It was an intense hike, but the beauty was astonishing. The view of the lake from above is much better than from below. It's one of the best places to enjoy the Swiss scenery. If you're in good physical condition and able to hike, I highly recommend hiking around the lake. It's largely a peaceful hike where I could see the scenery I wanted, surrounded by glaciers, mountains, and pine forests—a heavenly experience. Most tourists just take the cable car up, snap a photo of the lake, and then head back. While that's fine, the hiking views are unparalleled. However, I must emphasize again that it's not suitable for those who are unwell or unable to walk down steep slopes without obstacles/railings.

This is a must visit lake in Switzerland! It took only few hours to get there. There was no available cable car at that time as they are doing there maintenance thingy in preparation for the upcoming winter season. So plan ahead if you are not fund of hiking. But for me, It was so amazing! I enjoyed my time by admiring the beauty of God’s creation. Also , there is no entrance fee needed. You can bring your own mat and foods over there. Personally, if I had to pick the best place in Switzerland, it would be Lake Oeschinen. If you are visiting Switzerland on a short trip, Lake Oeschinen is likely to be excluded due to time constraints. I was in Switzerland for over a week in mid-May, and since my trip wasn't too tight, I chose the place flexibly depending on the weather. In May, Switzerland was cold because it rained a lot. It was hot on a sunny day. It was raining that day, so I was looking for a place to go and ended up going to Lake Oeschinen. At first, I couldn't see anything because of the rain and clouds, so I just wanted to enjoy the silence and go, but soon after, the rain stopped and the sun came out! If you have a Swiss Travel Pass or a Half Fare Card, you can get a 50% discount. Since Jungfrau VIP does not have a discount, you must visit it with a Swiss Pass. Oeschinen Lake is located at Kandersteg Station. Usually, visitors also visit Blausee Lake nearby, and both places can be reached by bus.
