I accidentally discovered that there was a direct bus from Shenzhen to Hong Kong near my home, so I tried it out of curiosity. It turns out that the direct bus is divided into two sections: Shenzhen + Hong Kong. You need to get off in front of the Shenzhen exit, go through customs and enter Hong Kong on your own, and then get on another connecting bus.
