One of the most famous attractions is the Citadel, located at the highest point of Gozo's capital Victoria, a place with a long history that evolved from the Neolithic Age to what it is today, and is the location of many movies such as Games of Thrones. You can come to this Gozo Island by boat from the capital Valletta, which I highly recommend! Next to the castle there is also a church (cathedula of the assumption of the madonna) to visit and the architecture is very unique! Ta' Kola Windmill, within walking distance of Ggantija Temples. Great to visit together with Ggantija Temples. 5. Salt Pans along the coast. Lucky to pass by on the way to Wied il-Ghasri. 6. Wied il-Ghasri beach with unusual topography. The sea was rough, but it was impressive in its own way. 7. Mysterious Blue Hole. The sea was too rough, so I couldn't see the Blue Hole I wanted to see. Apparently there are a lot of windy days in Malta. 8. Beautiful fortress Citadel. The sunset from here was also wonderful. 9. Xlendi, a resort on the island of Gozo. During my trip to Malta, I decided to take a day trip to Gozo, and it was one of the highlights of my visit! 🚤 Although it’s the smaller of the two main islands, Gozo is full of charm and natural beauty. 🌺 The island is much quieter and less touristy than Malta, with stunning coastal views, ancient temples, and picturesque villages. 🏛️ I explored the rugged coastline and visited the famous Azure Window, a natural rock arch by the sea. Though it collapsed some years ago, the spot is still beautiful and worth visiting for the views. 🌊 Gozo’s charm is also in its peaceful atmosphere. I wandered through narrow streets, stopping by the Citadel in Victoria, which offers sweeping views of the entire island. 🏰 The architecture, combined with the green hills, makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Gozo is the sister island to Malta and the second largest island in the Maltese archipelago. Gozo is a lot less built-up than Malta Island and still retains a lot of it authentic Gozitan character and beauty. A visiting Malta in 2025 Gozo is well worth a visit. On Gozo Island, Victoria Castle is undoubtedly an unparalleled landmark, known as the crown of Gozo Island. As a historical presence, this castle, built on the highest point of Gozo Island, is made entirely of the unique amber-colored stone of the area, which emits a warm and ancient glow in the sunlight. Every year, tourists flock to the castle, and it is not easy to capture a photo without others in it. I was lucky enough to find a secluded corner at lunchtime and found the right angle to take a picture. Victoria Castle is a fortress with a rich history. After hundreds of years of wind and rain, the castle has stood against many invasions and pirate attacks and is the protector of the people of Gozo Island. Standing on a corner of the castle, looking out at the endless ocean and the surrounding rolling greenery, you can almost hear the echoes of history. Although Gozo Island is not large, Victoria Castle is quite large. As the former royal capital, it was the center of power and culture, and therefore has a complex and diverse architectural style and structure. Walking through it, every stone seems to tell a story of the past. Unlike the regularity and coldness of modern architecture, every path and corner here exudes an unadorned natural beauty. I spent three hours touring the castle and still felt like I wanted more. Although it has long passed its heyday, every part of the castle still retains an ancient and solemn atmosphere. Especially the church, standing inside the castle, has stood the test of time and still stands proudly. They are the soul of the castle and a must-see attraction.

Off the West Coast of the small Maltese island of Gozo there has to be one of the most spectacular paddleboarding spots in Europe.
