It's been only a couple of months since my visit to the uffizi and I'm always looking up or trying to find hacks to make things easy or skip ques. But that didn't work at the uffizi. It's a popular spot. Even during the off season that we travelled, there were plenty of art enthusiasts visiting the uffizi. While, most of the exhibits are from the renaissance area. And if thats not your thing, you're still going to like it. So naturally 3-4 hours to see things nicely and with the queuing it's likely to eat up half or more of the day. I'm saying this so you can prepare accordingly and not be all restless about wasting your day cos you only have a 1 or 2 days for Florence As mentioned I went there during the off season and the entrance fee was practically half of what we paid when visiting during peak season the previous time. Might have been close to 15 American dollars. I still can't convert that well in euros. If you have a fixed plan and will most likely visit the uffizi on a certain day. Go ahead and book the tickets online. This will be a shorter que than most who come here without a fixed plan and buy at site. You might pay about 5 bucks more for booking on the website but it's worth it. Know what's even better? Spend on a guided tour. You wont have to que and wait. Further, you'll understand and appreciate the artworks better. Compared to the Vatican or the louvre, you're still not paying much. Plus you get to see Raphael, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, and many more all within a few steps of one another. In terms of getting here, let me tell you it's a lovely area to walk around. It’s located near Piazza della Signoria, which is home to Palazzo Vecchio. The back of the Uffizi is across from the Arno river, which is visible from inside the gallery.
