Jiaogang Lake Notes.
On October 30, 2024, I visited Jiaogang Lake again. It is a national 4A-level scenic spot and a national wetland park, known as the "Huaihe River Wetland, Anhui Jiaogang Lake." The only downside is that the sanitation is a bit poor, and the bulletin board is a bit old. Maoji Experimental Zone in Huainan City has implemented the "Lakeside Small City, Ecological Wetland" project, which includes the expansion of the reed marshes and the improvement of the lotus pond. They have done a lot of work in vegetation restoration, returning the lake to its natural state, relocating fishermen, clearing reclaimed land, and managing low-lying areas, making this "Pearl of the Huaihe River" even more beautiful. You must take a speedboat, a painted boat, or a small iron boat to visit the lake attractions, or you can stroll along the boardwalk by the lake, enjoy the water and plants, and feel the tranquility and beauty of nature. Jiaogang Lake is a natural shallow lake in the Huaihe River Basin in Anhui Province, with a wetland area of 60,000 mu, 20 km long from east to west, and 7 km wide from north to south. It is rich in biological resources, with hundreds of species of wild animals and plants thriving here. Its lakes, canals, ponds, rivers, farmland, villages, and orchards are intertwined, creating a unique wetland ecological landscape and a rare leisure and sightseeing destination. In the afternoon, you can visit Jiaogang Lake Film and Television City, which started construction in 2009. It is reported that the total investment in this film and television city has exceeded 200 million yuan, with a large scale, many newly built Republic of China buildings, and a relocated agricultural park with an exhibition of farming tools and an old locomotive for you to visit. The Yiquan Bay project on the shore of Jiaogang Lake uses hot spring water from the ancient Cretaceous rock layer 105 million years ago, buried in a fault zone 1,580 meters underground. The spring water is clear, with a flow rate of 50 m/h, and the spring water temperature can reach 48°C. The water is rich in more than 20 trace elements beneficial to human health, such as bromine, strontium, lithium, zinc, radon, metaboric acid, and metasilicic acid, making it worth a visit. After the completion of the Yiquan Bay Hot Spring Town, it will fill the gap of no hot springs in northern Anhui. It is expected to receive about 10,000 tourists per day, achieve an annual tourism income of 2 billion yuan, generate 100 million yuan in taxes, provide 2,000 jobs, and make Jiaogang Lake's winter tourism "not off-season," further promoting the rapid development of Huainan's cultural tourism industry. Jiaogang Lake's specialties, such as water caltrop rice, fairy beans, and hairy crabs, are also worth trying. In short, a one-day tour of Jiaogang Lake will be worth your while.
