Highlights - Eszergomi Bazilika is the main attraction. It has a large collection of artifacts in the treasury and there views of the Bazilika from all parts of town. Crossing the bridge to Slovakia provides the best views. The Basilica aso shares a location with a castle and St Istvan coronation statue. Beautiful views can be seen from the top of the hill. Today, we went on a one-day trip near Budapest that no one should miss. Esztergom, the former important Catholic capital of Hungary, is not only famous for its religion and history, but it is also home to the Suzuki/Mama Thai factory. We took the train for 1 hour and walked into the city to the church. It was a short and affordable one-day trip. The church is large and free to enter. The paintings on the walls are very beautiful. I didn't see any outsiders, and there weren't many vehicles, so it doesn't seem to be a bustling place. Esztergom Basilica is also called the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but it holds a very high status in Hungary and is even called a "holy temple." It is the largest cathedral in Hungary. Built in 1820, its dome has a diameter of 53.5m and a height of 100m. When traveling abroad, I love visiting museums, churches, and palaces. It is said to be the second largest cathedral in Europe and the fourth largest in the world. But I feel that St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, Milan Cathedral in Italy, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, Seville Cathedral in Spain, and Westminster Abbey in the UK are all quite large. It is located on a hill, where there's a beautiful panorama on the Danube and Slovakia. It is the capital of the catholic church in Hungary. It's easy to access by walking and parking is nearby. The city is conveniently reachable by train from Budapest.
