Kaohsiung|Enjoy the Most Beautiful Sunset at Pier-2 Warehouse
Every time I visit Kaohsiung, I love staying around the Pier-2 area. It encapsulates the traditional delicacies of Yancheng and Hamasen, as well as stunning scenery.
Let’s talk about the most beautiful sunset first. In the evening, head to Banana Pier and Pier-2 Warehouse for a stroll. Here, you’ll find beer restaurants and places to grab a hand-shaken drink. In the outdoor area, you can quietly enjoy the sunset as it casts its golden glow over the harbor, beautifully reflecting off the large ships. Nearby, you can also visit the carousel and small Ferris wheel to capture memorable moments.
Here’s my personal itinerary: After enjoying brunch in Yancheng, I like to wander around and take photos at the Pier-2 Art Center. Then, I take the ferry to Qijin. Whether it’s walking on the black sand beach, soaking up the sun, visiting the Qijin Mazu Temple, snapping photos at the Rainbow Church, exploring Qijin Old Street for seafood, or tasting the famous swordfish fish cake, there’s plenty to do until around 4 or 5 PM.
Afterward, I take the ferry back to Pier-2 Warehouse, grab a drink or enjoy some mango shaved ice while waiting for the sunset. It’s a perfect moment to appreciate the beauty of the harbor city. For dinner, I head to Yancheng to savor local delicacies like Duck Meat Zhen, Zheng Family Noodles, Cai’s Third-Generation Rice Cake, or the famous Southern-style rice dumplings. Alternatively, I might opt for a gastropub to enjoy a delightful dinner. Finally, I take a leisurely walk to Dagang Bridge to experience the dazzling lights as night falls, with a view of the Kaohsiung Music Center’s nightscape. To wrap up the day, I visit Dagang Warehouse to shop and explore, soaking in the charm of revitalized old warehouses.
