A cherry blossom feast and a heartwarming encounter with fellow countrymen in Cambridge.
📍Attraction address:
Lake Te Koutu Park, Cambridge, New Zealand
🏝️Booking strategy:
No reservation is required. It is recommended to go on weekdays or in the morning during the cherry blossom season to avoid the peak of the crowd and enjoy the tranquil beauty.
🚗Transportation strategy:
Depart from Auckland and head south along State Highway 1. It takes about 2 hours to reach Cambridge. There are free parking spaces around the park, but please note that you should not park your vehicle on the soft lawn to avoid getting stuck.
💗Other tips:
Bring a camera and a picnic mat to enjoy leisure time under the cherry blossoms.
Pay attention to weather changes and bring sun protection and warm clothing.
When in trouble, don't hesitate to ask for help from the enthusiastic people around you.
In Cambridge, where cherry blossoms are in full bloom, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and took beautiful photos with our friends. We had a lot of fun. When a friend parked, he thought that the flat and dry lawn was suitable for parking, but the vehicle accidentally got stuck in the mud. Fortunately, several enthusiastic Chinese friends took the initiative to help, especially the two handsome guys who were not afraid of getting dirty and pushed the car with us. Everyone worked together and finally got out of trouble. We were full of gratitude.
Filipino friends exclaimed that Chinese people are really very friendly and enthusiastic. They noticed that other Filipinos next to them just laughed, but did not offer help, which made them have a deeper impression of the friendliness of Chinese people. In a foreign country, feeling the warmth and mutual help of fellow countrymen is very warm.
By the way, those three Filipino friends are all single! They said they really appreciate Chinese boys and think they are friendly and excellent❤️

Cambridge Serenity: Lake Bliss Revisited
#2024wish
In 2018, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Lake Te Koo Utu Reserve in Cambridge, New Zealand. Nestled at Albert Street, the reserve offered a serene escape with its picturesque landscapes and tranquil waters. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of native flora. As I strolled along the shores, the vibrant birdlife provided a symphony of nature's melodies. Sunset painted the sky in hues of pink and gold, casting a magical spell over the surroundings. Captivated by the beauty, I felt a profound connection to nature. In 2024, I wish to go there again, yearning for the same enchanting experience that etched the memories of that trip deep into my soul.

Unveiling Cambridge's Heritage at the Museum of Cambridge:
The Museum of Cambridge provided a captivating journey through the city's storied past. Housed in a charming historic building, the museum showcased a diverse collection of artifacts and exhibits that unraveled the everyday lives of the people who once called Cambridge home. Immersing in Academic Splendor at King's College:
No visit to Cambridge would be complete without a visit to one of its prestigious colleges, and King's College stood out as a true gem. The breathtaking architecture and majestic presence of King's College Chapel left me in awe. Stepping inside, I was greeted by the ethereal beauty of the stained glass windows, the soaring fan vaulting, and the exquisite craftsmanship of the interior. Exploring the college's grounds, I marveled at the immaculately manicured gardens and picturesque courtyards, which exuded an atmosphere of intellectual pursuit and serenity.
Tranquility and Scenic Beauty along the River Cam:
The River Cam, meandering through the heart of Cambridge, offered a serene escape from the city's bustling streets. Embarking on a tranquil punting excursion, I glided along the calm waters, surrounded by lush greenery and picturesque bridges. The rhythmic sound of the punt pole and the gentle swaying of the boat created a soothing ambiance, allowing me to fully appreciate the beauty of the river and its surroundings. Admiring the iconic sights, such as the Mathematical Bridge and the Backs, from the water provided a unique perspective and a sense of tranquility that was truly rejuvenating.

Housed within Cambridge's old court house, the Cambridge museum is a small museum that packs a punch of information.
There are two rooms for display- one relaying the local historical happenings of the town, and the other dedicated to memories of WWI and WWII.
If you visit, check out the telephone switchboard with entertaining stories of the past. Old albums showing how Cambridge was back then was very interesting. We also found out that Anchor butter originated nearby this town.
If you're in Cambridge, do drop by for an educational journey. Admission is absolutely free.

Relaxing walk at Lake Te Koo Utu
If you're ever in Cambridge, this lake is a hidden gem for a relaxing walk, especially in summer. There are a few different routes which you can take to the lake. You'll be able to find a signboard which clearly denotes the expectations of the different routes.
We took the Lake Arm Track which was a 124 meter track to the lake. There were slight slopes but it was well worth the time to walk around the lake and simply enjoy the fresh air, beautiful water lilies.
Lawns are well maintained and the children will love to see ducks in the lake. There's also a children's playground near the Begonia House.
Suggested duration: Approximately 1 hour
