There are two ways to explore:
One is to walk to a viewing platform in the park, about a 30-minute walk (the path is hard to find, so it's recommended to explore during the day and return at night). On the other side of the hill is the vast Lake Torneträsk, with little light pollution and a great view. A natural microclimate ensures clear skies over the lake, even when surrounded by clouds.
The other is to take a cable car to the Sky Station, a higher viewing platform with a better view (about 30 minutes one way).
Cable Car Hours: 21:00–1:00
Tips:
1. Wear thick cotton clothes to stay warm while photographing the aurora. Warmth is key!
2. Waterproof down jackets are essential to avoid snow-related issues.
3. Use the Aurora app to check the aurora index!
In Abisko, you can explore the vibrant aurora in snowy forests or immerse yourself in nature under a starry sky.
In short, Abisko is a must-visit destination. Are you tempted?
