Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon 🌙 🌞
The most beautiful part of Capitol reef but also the least accessible. Make sure you download offline maps as service is almost non existent there, have a full gas tank, water and warm clothes just in case. There are a lot of cows so watch out, especially if you are driving at night.

Utah itinerary 🏜️
It’s my 4th time in Utah and there is still so much to explore 🧡 A 5 day itinerary starting in Salt Lake City:
🏜️ Day 1: Salt Lake City to Capitol Reef drive (4 or 5 hours depending on where are you staying). We stayed at Torrey, which is convenient for Capitol Reef access.
🏜️ Day 2: Capitol reef easy hikes in Fruita area in the morning and a scenic Cathedral Rd drive to Temple of the Moon and Temple of the Sun. The GPS is not existent and there are very few markings in that remote part of Capitol Reef but in my opinion it’s the best part of this park.
🏜️ Day3: Drive to Monument Valley. There are a couple of slot canyons you can visit on the way - Zebra canyon, Peek a boo canyon and Goblin valley is a little off the way but only adds 1.5 hours to the total drive time. Sunset at Forrest Gump point. We are staying in Premium View cabins, which are located right in a heart of the valley.
🏜️ Day 4: Enjoy the sunrise from your porch and head to a horseback riding tour in Monument Valley. Drive to Moab in the afternoon.
🏜️ Day 5: Explore Canyonlands national park.
🏜️ Day 6: Arches National park - Delicate arch hike at sunset or sunrise (takes less than 2 hours round trip). There are 2 different trail options and it’s better to do the one which starts at Wolfe Ranch parking as it takes you right to the arch.

There are many sandstones and boulders in the park, some of which have white-colored and dome-shaped roofs resembling the United States Capitol Building, hence the name "Arches National Park". The main color of the park is red sandstone, with different colors such as gray, white, pink and brick red, forming a colorful and castle-like landscape of rocks of different sizes and shapes, which is the unique scenery of this park.

Plateau Dome Reef National Park on the fault zone.
Capitol Reef National Park is located in central Utah, USA, with an area of nearly 500 square kilometers. The main topographical feature here is the folding of valleys. The crustal movement 56 million years ago raised the Colorado Plateau, and Capitol Reef is a park located on a fault zone of this plate. Because of its low terrain, water from the surrounding rainwater collection area flows into the valley, forming a small river that never dries up all year round - the Fremont River, which nurtures the evergreen Fruita Oasis. The topographical feature of Capitol Reef is the folding of valleys, and it is a park located on a fault zone of this plate.
