A long street leads from the Nishitetsu train station to the shrine, lined with local seasonal delicacies. At the end of the street, near the temple entrance with the bull statue, stands a famous wooden Starbucks. The area is rich with various trees and historical stories. Although the shrine is crowded with praying students and teachers during exam periods, the garden behind the main building offers a peaceful retreat. On your way back, make sure to stop at the local Starbucks. Among the many Starbucks cafes nationwide, none is perhaps more famous than the Dazaifu Starbucks in Fukuoka. This stunning building was designed by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma. The interior of the Dazaifu Starbucks uses about 2,000 pieces of these 'thin woods,' resembling the inside of a giant handwoven basket.

The Dazaifu Tenmangu is a popular destination in Fukuoka which features a shrine that is dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, the deity of learning, culture, and the arts. There are many shops along the path leading to the shrine, selling both souvenirs and Dazaifu local treats. One of the main treats is a rice cake mochi filled with red beans, Umegae mochi. Address: 4 Chome-7-1 Saifu, Dazaifu, Fukuoka 818-0117, Japan This Shrine was said to be built to honour and dedicate to the God of learning and you be able to see the background story of the Shrine which dates back at least more than 1000AD ago. Apart from the Shrine, nearby there are also alot of traditional snack shops and souvenir shop where most tourists will flock to after the walk in the Shrine. Oh also, if you are a Starbucks fan, there is this cool looking Starbucks located near the Shrine. It was so crowded so we decided not to go inside but took a photo of the Starbucks design from the outside instead.

Japanese garden lovers get closer in Fukuoka

Very happy to be on vacation to Japan, in the midst of an international meeting in Fukuoka, we had the opportunity knowing and exploring many interest things in Fukuoka, not only the food which is very- very delicious, but the main place that is a pity to miss, namely the Dazaifu Shrine. The place is very beautiful, the garden arrangement is very cool to look at, also it's very comfortable to linger here. Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, Fukuoka - Japan: This is the largest Shinto shrine in Fukuoka with so many tourists there. We have to walk and cross the red signature bridge which is the way to the temple. This is a must place to go if you visit Fukuoka.

Came here on my lunch break to check this out. One thing I can say is that it is just a usual Japanese Shrine. Not sure of the historical significance of this. Cool place to check out if you have the time. #GiveThanks

Touristy area with shopping street. For those interested in Studio Ghibli there are a few shops that sell all the Studio Ghibli characters products 🥰. Hike up some stairs to a shrine and receive “power up” from the shrine of white foxes 🦊. For hiking enthusiasts u can hike further to a waterfall. You will find a bridge spanning a beautiful lake. At the end of the street lined with various souvenir shops, the majestic building in front of you is the main shrine. This is also a popular spot for plum blossom viewing. If you visit in early spring, you will be amazed by the countless sweet plum blossoms. Remember to take a photo with the specially made cow monument, which is said to bring good luck. Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is not just a place of worship. Various festivals and activities are held here throughout the year. You can also visit the shopping street to buy the locally famous sweet plum blossom cakes and get a strawberry ice pop, which is cold and chewy, making it a great treat to beat the heat. It only takes half an hour to drive back to Hakata from Dazaifu Station, making it very convenient.

I visited Dazaifu in Fukuoka with my daughter for a family trip. This place, where history and culture blend together, is perfect for enjoying with your family. Had a great time in fukuoka and visited the Dazaifu Tenmangu and it was such a beautiful place to visit. You can go by train and it takes about an hour. Once you arrive there are stores outside the temple so you can visit some local restaurants and buy some of their souvenirs as memories! Making a Wish at Dazaifu

As a mere tourist who came to Fukuoka, besides indulging in food, it's only proper to visit the famous Dazaifu! Right next to Dazaifu Station, there are several eateries, among which the most well-known to Hong Kong people is probably Ichiran Ramen. This branch is unique in all of Japan for its 'passing' ramen, served in a pentagonal bowl with chopsticks, symbolizing success in exams; the noodles are also twice as long as those at other branches, wishing happiness to the diner. Walking along the Omotesando, both sides are lined with souvenir and snack shops, where many gifts for friends/colleagues are bought. The most famous snack here, undoubtedly, is the Umeboshi Mochi. I didn't count carefully, but I heard there are over thirty shops selling this treat. Being lazy, I didn't do my homework beforehand and didn't know which shop was the most famous. At first glance, there doesn't seem to be much difference, so I just went with my gut and bought two from 'Teradaya'. The outer layer is toasted to a slight fragrance, with a soft and chewy rice skin, and the inside is filled with hot red bean paste. To be honest, I'm not very good at appreciating it. The attractions include Shinji Bridge and the Main Hall, etc. The pond in the garden is heart-shaped, hence the name Shinji Bridge. It is said that walking over the bridge purifies the body and soul, I hope so~ After visiting, one must check in at Dazaifu's Starbucks, with its crisscrossing wooden design, said to be the most beautiful Starbucks in Japan. Of course, most temples have a place for people to hang their wishes, and this place is no exception. I sincerely hope everyone's wishes come true.

## Embark on a Pilgrimage As a curious solo traveler, I decided to visit the famous Dazaifu in Fukuoka, Japan. This historic shrine is not only an important religious site in Japan but also a cultural heritage that locals take pride in. Walking slowly along the approach path, I admired the traditional architecture and its exquisite carvings, feeling as if I had traveled through time, immersed in a rich historical atmosphere. Looking up, the shrine courtyard under the blue sky and white clouds exuded a serene and peaceful ambiance, making me feel utterly relaxed. ## Immerse in the Cultural Atmosphere In addition, I discovered many unique shops on the shopping street. Among them, I particularly liked a store specializing in Japanese kimonos. The shop owner enthusiastically introduced me to the history and wearing methods of kimonos and even let me try on a beautiful kimono. Wearing this traditional attire, I felt as if I had traveled through time, experiencing the charm of ancient Japanese culture.

FUKUOKA Taizifu has a history of 1100 years, where Sugawara no Michizane, known in Japan as the 'God of Learning' and the 'God of Calligraphy'; the golden bull at the entrance shines brightly from being touched, bestowing wisdom; ancient trees reach for the sky within the garden, with small bridges over flowing water, koi fish swimming gracefully, the spring's Kyokusui-no-en (Poem Composing Party by a Winding Stream), and the autumn's Shinko-sai (Grand Festival). The garden landscape is also quite distinctive, with reflections of ancient trees and small bridges, hydrangeas in early summer, and purple irises in the water, all set against the blue sky for an exceptionally leisurely atmosphere. Deep within the garden, there is also a ⛩️ nestled in the mountains, a children's playground, and the Kyushu National Museum, all worth exploring. The streets around the attraction are lined with distinctive shops, with handmade plum cakes and karasumi (dried mullet roe) as well as Starbucks being the most popular.

The complex is beautiful because there are purple plum trees blooming and really makes it fun to walk through. It is free to enter. It is on the route of the Sky Hop-on-Hop-off bus, which you can catch at the Kyoto Train station (front area) Go there in the 25th of the month when there is a huge flea/craft/fabric market all around the temple. Good finds at low price, also high prices for unique things, good local food, etc. The temple itself is beautiful. Monkey show is quite good

As I wander through this ancient city in Kyushu, it feels as if I can travel back to its glorious past. The approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is busy and brimming with life, with a myriad of small shops offering everything from traditional Japanese confections to various handicrafts, each imbued with the artisan's care and story. Museums are treasure troves of history. The Kyushu National Museum is not just a place for collecting artifacts; it's a crossroads of history and modernity, with a rich collection and exquisite exhibitions that provide a feast for both the eyes and knowledge. Especially those exhibits that showcase the ancient exchanges between Japan and other Asian countries, they deepen my understanding and appreciation of the region's historical culture. Here, I seem to converse with every thread of history, and with every step, I can feel the breath of a thousand years. Dazaifu, you really know how to enjoy the blossoms. 🌧️I originally planned to cycle to Shiiroyama Forest Road and the Dazaifu Government Office Site, but after asking at the information center, I found out that the flowers had just started blooming, so I gave up on that plan. Although the weather wasn't great, I still saw some pretty nice cherry blossoms, and they will get even better in a few days~ - 🌸Homan Shrine Kamado Shrine The entrance was quite beautifully blooming, and there were more tourists when the bus arrived, but if you wait a while, you can take pictures without anyone in them. It was also nice during the autumn foliage season, and I've included a comparison photo. The shrine is not very big, so pay attention to the bus schedule, which is about every half hour. - 🌸Tenkai Inari Shrine I saw a full bloom of Somei Yoshino cherry trees from the bus, right by the roadside. You can take the bus from the shrine to Sugatani Station, take photos, and then walk up the stone steps past Tenkai Inari Shrine to Dazaifu Tenmangu. Before, I saw routes to the shrine that involved climbing the mountain from Tenmangu, but actually, walking this way now doesn't require a round trip, saving more energy and time. - 🌸Tenmangu Shrine So many people! I took pictures of a few trees near the Treasure Hall and the Kyushu National Museum. - 🌸Kyushu National Museum Stunning weeping cherry trees! Enter from the Tenmangu side, take the elevator to the central plaza area, and you'll see them. The museum also has a special exhibition going on right now~ - Because I have an evening flight back, I arranged this smooth route: 🚞Hakata (subway transfer to Nishitetsu or direct bus) - Dazaifu Station to store luggage - Kamado Shrine - Tenkai Inari Shrine - Tenmangu Shrine - Kyushu National Museum - stroll along the approach, 🍓 enjoy Mont Blanc sweets - take the Nishitetsu bus from Dazaifu Station to Fukuoka Airport International Terminal - The bus has many afternoon services, and the journey takes about half an hour.

One of the most famous temples in Kyushu, Japan, housing the god of learning Tenman-Tenjin in Japanese Taoist mythology. Was fortunate to catch the plum trees blossom, and it was a really tranquil and majestic place to visit! It focuses particularly on the period from the 8th to the 12th century, as well as the heyday of the Silk Road, all presented to visitors. 👍 The museum has four floors, with the fourth floor dedicated to the Cultural Exchange Exhibition, systematically introducing Japanese history from the Paleolithic era to the Edo period. It narrates how Japan has interacted and exchanged with the international community over the centuries, leading to the development of a unique Japanese culture, in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. The fourth floor also features an 'Ultra-High Definition Theater' with 8K resolution, offering a vivid theater experience that plays every 30 minutes. ✅ The third floor features special exhibitions that are held regularly. Here, one can view paid exhibitions such as 'Japanese Art in the Age of Exploration' and 'World Heritage Murals'. The price for each exhibition varies, and tickets to the special exhibitions grant free access to the permanent exhibits on the fourth floor. ✅ The second floor houses the office area and the collection storage, as well as the cultural property restoration facility. This floor is not open to the public and is in a closed state. ✅ The first floor has a free interactive exhibition area that introduces exhibits and national costumes from around the world, as well as art and crafts. There is also a museum souvenir section and light refreshments such as coffee and snacks are available. 🍽 Outside the museum, there is a stylishly decorated restaurant. The Italian seafood pasta and smoked salmon salad come highly recommended. If time is limited, simply enjoying the design of the building itself is a pleasure. 🚉 Transportation: It's only a 5-minute walk from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. 💰 Admission: 430 yen for adults, 130 yen for children. 🕙 Opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday, 9:30 AM to 5 PM.
