I hiked to Birobong Peak, and the view from the top was absolutely breathtaking, with rolling green mountains stretching in every direction. In spring, the azaleas and wildflowers bloom, covering the mountains in vibrant colors. The park is also home to Guinsa Temple, a massive and stunning Buddhist complex tucked into the valley—it’s one of the most unique temples I’ve ever visited. The air was fresh, and I loved how clean and well-preserved the park was. Since it’s not as touristy as other parks, I found it to be a peaceful retreat from city life. If you’re looking for a scenic hike with a mix of nature and culture, Sobaeksan is a fantastic choice!"

This cafe offers a very good scenery of the mountainous terrains of Danyang, and also the rivers passing through this nice little town. The specialty of this cafe is the various breads made of corns and sweet potatoes. I ordered one bread and a coffee, and the combination is just perfect. Sitting there overlooking the scenery of the mountainous terrain is very therapheutic, and I will definitely come back again.

I thought Danyang was only famous for paragliding, but I heard it's famous for black garlic! In the Gyeonggi Market, there are black garlic salt bread, black garlic dumplings, black garlic tteokgalbi, black garlic ice cream... The moment I entered Gosu Cave, I felt like I had entered another world. The inside of the cave was filled with cool air, and the stalactites and stalagmites located here and there were shining brightly in the light. Cafe San, a place I really wanted to visit in Danyang! I went there with high expectations because it is famous for its great view, but it actually exceeded my expectations. One thing you can't miss while traveling is the snacks at rest stops. On this trip, I tried sausages and jjambbong rice, and they were so much more delicious than I expected. Riding an ATV along a bumpy off-road was the best activity that allowed me to feel nature with my whole body along with the thrill. I found the tteokgalbi and makguksu that I must eat in Danyang. The moment I took a bite of the charcoal-grilled tteokgalbi, I couldn't help but exclaim in admiration as the meat juice filled my mouth. I recommend going to Gudambong first and then moving to Oksunbong.
