Saku Café
#japantrip
Saku Café is a hidden gem! We stayed there for about a week and everything was perfect. The building itself is beautiful and inviting, an old house remodeled by LEMS-san himself and turned into a mix of guest rooms and café. It's only a 5 minute walk from Hitachi-Daigo station (though if you are carrying suitcases you may want to get a taxi, as it's uphill and not fully paved), and well-positioned if you're looking to bike or drive to various Daigo highlights like Fukuroda falls, Tsukimachi falls (have nagashi somen there while you're at it!), and various onsens. The room was big, clean and comfortable. The toilet and bathroom are shared with one more room but lucky for us it was not taken. The cafe itself is open to guests and outsiders until 10pm, so you can grab some dinner and cocktails and enjoy the peaceful Daigo night from the patio!overall awesome
Eigen Temple.(Autumn maple leaves temple.)
#2024wish A very nice place to visit in fall. There are some parking spaces near the temple, but during peak season (fall) you might have to park somewhere farther and walk for around 800m. The place is full of colorful trees in fall, and a lot of nice spots to take a picture of!
Beautiful little temple with intense autumn colors and a great view over the valley. But this is a most famous spot, so there's tons of visitors. There's a big parking space near the station, which is a 15 min walk. There are a view parking spots at the temple.
I wish to go back here in 2024
Fukuroda Falls
#2024wish This is a must-go tourist attraction here in Ibaraki. One of the nice falls that can be seen here. Its quiet far though so, you need a car or private ride for you to get there. There is an entrance fee here. They have two observatory viewpoint. One facing in the middle of the falls and one on its top view. The falls is really enchanting.
