Northern Italy: Kiki's Delivery Service Town
I went to northern Italy to see a friend from my time studying abroad in Malta.
My friend came to pick me up, and we went to a town called Cremona together while catching up on recent happenings. Cremona is a town famous for violins, and was the setting for Kiki's Delivery Service.
I climbed the largest tower in Italy in the beautiful city of Cremona. It's a beautiful spot with a panoramic view of the city of Cremona. The inside is like a museum.
Inside the Cremona Tower, photos look great no matter where you take them.
The buildings in Cremona have historic exteriors, and made me feel like I was in Italy.

Cremona Cathedral, Cremona, Italy

In Cremona, Italy, although the violin is the protagonist of this small town, you must also visit the Cremona Cathedral!
The Cremona Cathedral is the most important landmark of Cremona. Construction began in 1107 and was completed around 1160-1170. It is a classic Romanesque building that was later rebuilt many times and incorporated Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements.
The 112.7-meter-high bell tower next to it is quite impressive. It is the second tallest brick bell tower in the world.
The astronomical clock on the 4th floor of the bell tower was installed in the late 16th century and is the largest astronomical clock in the world!

The Land of Violins - Cremona, Italy
Cremona, Italy is the birthplace of the great violin maker Antonio Stradivari, and it is also the place where he spent his entire life making top-quality violins. His violin-making skills made Cremona famous.
There is a nationally renowned violin museum here, which exhibits many expensive classical violins, including masterpieces by Master Stradivari, as well as works by the equally famous violin-making families ~💗Amati and Guarneri.
This violin-making craft has been passed down in Cremona and has even been listed in the World Cultural Heritage (Intangible Cultural Heritage) list! If you love music, you must definitely find an opportunity to visit Cremona and take a journey of classical music! The cathedral in the city has a bell tower which is the tallest surviving medieval tower in Italy.

Cremona city exploring Italy 🇮🇹
#italytrip
Cremona is a city and comune in northern Italy, situated in Lombardy, on the left bank of the Po river in the middle of the Pianura Padana (Po Valley) in Italy 🇮🇹.
Cremona was repeatedly sacked by the Goths and the Huns before being rebuilt by the Lombards in the 7th century. A bishopric since the 9th century and an independent commune after 1098, it initially supported Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa in his conflict with the Lombards out of hostility to Milan, but it finally joined the Lombard League (an alliance of northern Italian towns) in 1167. The city was controlled by the Visconti family and, later, by the Sforzas, of Milan, from 1334 to 1535, except for a period of Venetian rule (1499–1509). It was Spanish from 1535 and Austrian after 1707; its later history followed that of Lombardy.
And it is a beautiful city with the surrounding of nice people and historic places.

Just had an enchanting day in Cremona, and the Cathedral left me in awe of its beauty! 🏰⛪️ For a mere €3 entrance fee, stepping into the Cremona Cathedral felt like discovering a hidden gem of Italian architecture and art.
Dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the cathedral's facade is a masterpiece of Gothic and Romanesque elements. The delicate rose window and the intricate sculptures tell stories that seem to come alive in the sunlight. Inside, the ethereal play of light and shadow creates a spiritual ambiance that's truly enchanting. 🌹🌟
Don't miss the Baptistery adjacent to the cathedral. Its octagonal shape and the exquisite frescoes add a layer of artistry to the religious experience. It's like stepping into a serene sanctuary of medieval craftsmanship. 🕊️🎨
Climbing to the top of the Torrazzo, the cathedral's bell tower, is a must. The panoramic views of Cremona's terracotta rooftops and the surrounding Lombardy plains are breathtaking. It's a postcard-worthy moment at every turn. 🏞️🔔
After immersing yourself in the cathedral's history, wander through the Piazza del Comune. The lively square, surrounded by historic buildings and cafes, is the heart of Cremona's social life. Savoring an espresso with a view of the cathedral completes the Italian experience. ☕️🇮🇹
For a musical interlude, visit the nearby Museo del Violino. Cremona is renowned for its violin-making tradition, and this museum pays homage to the craft. The collection of Stradivarius instruments is a testament to Cremona's cultural legacy. 🎻🎶
Cap off your day with a stroll along the Po River or explore the charming streets of Cremona's old town. The town's artistic spirit and the warm hues of its architecture make every corner a delight. 🌆🚶♂️
