National Museum of Costa Rica
Volcan Irazu
National Theater of Costa Rica
Manuel Antonio National Park
Costa Rica offers a dizzying suite of outdoor adventures in every shape and size – from the squeal-inducing rush of a canopy zipline to a sun-dazed afternoon at the beach. National parks allow visitors to glimpse life in both rainforest and cloud forest, simmering volcanoes offer otherworldly vistas, and reliable surf breaks are suited to beginners and experts alike. Such wildlife abounds in Costa Rica as to seem almost cartoonish: keel-billed toucans ogle you from treetops and scarlet macaws raucously announce their flight plans. Blue morpho butterflies flit amid orchid-festooned trees, while colorful tropical fish, sharks, rays, dolphins and whales thrive offshore – all as if in a conservationist’s dream.
Centering yourself on a surfboard or yoga mat, descending into bat-filled caves or ascending misty volcanic peaks, hiking, biking or ziplining – your only limit is your return date.

Waterfalls Hunting!
#summerdestinations
One of the nicest experiences I had in Costa Rica was going on a waterfalls hunting trip! Being an area surrounded by nature in all directions was truly one of a lifetime experience…. The beauty of this country relies on the abundance of undiscovered places that are hardly reachable by most people but the experience itself of getting there is memorable!

Uncover the Natural Wonders of Costa Rica
Costa Rica, nestled in the heart of Central America, is a nature lover’s paradise renowned for its lush rainforests, pristine beaches, and extraordinary biodiversity. This small but vibrant country offers a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and eco-tourism, making it a top destination for travelers seeking an unforgettable experience.
Costa Rica’s natural beauty is one of its most captivating features. The country is home to a variety of ecosystems, from tropical rainforests and cloud forests to active volcanoes and golden coastlines. In the central highlands, the Arenal Volcano stands as one of the country's most iconic landmarks, where visitors can hike the surrounding trails, soak in natural hot springs, or zip-line through the forest canopy. In contrast, the Monteverde Cloud Forest offers a mystical experience, with its misty landscapes, rich plant life, and abundant wildlife, including the elusive quetzal bird.
For beach enthusiasts, Costa Rica’s coastlines offer a variety of stunning options. The Pacific coast is home to world-class surfing spots, secluded beaches, and vibrant beach towns like Tamarindo and Santa Teresa, where travelers can enjoy sunbathing, water sports, and the lively local culture. On the Caribbean side, the laid-back beaches of Puerto Viejo and Cahuita are perfect for those seeking a more relaxed vibe, complete with turquoise waters and coral reefs ideal for snorkeling and diving.
Costa Rica is also a sanctuary for wildlife. National parks and reserves make up nearly a quarter of the country’s land, protecting species such as sloths, howler monkeys, and colorful toucans. Tortuguero National Park on the Caribbean coast is famous for its sea turtle nesting, while Manuel Antonio National Park on the Pacific side is a haven for exotic birds and tropical mammals.
Adventure seekers will find plenty to do in Costa Rica. Whether it’s white-water rafting on the Pacuare River, exploring the underground caves of Barra Honda, or traversing the hanging bridges in the jungle, Costa Rica offers endless opportunities for thrill-seekers.
Costa Rican culture, known as “pura vida” (pure life), is reflected in the locals’ warmth, friendliness, and laid-back lifestyle. From the bustling capital city of San José to the charming rural towns, visitors can enjoy local cuisine, including traditional dishes like gallo pinto (rice and beans) and fresh seafood.
Whether you're drawn to Costa Rica for its breathtaking landscapes, rich wildlife, or outdoor adventures, the country promises a journey full of natural beauty, eco-friendly travel, and unforgettable experiences. With its commitment to sustainability and conservation, Costa Rica remains a top destination for those seeking to reconnect with nature in one of the world’s most biodiverse regions.

Dart frog!
Found a dart frog in Costa Rica. Great vacation and a lot of fun to explore the natural environment. This was in Porto Viejo. After Porto Viejo we went to Tourtugeo. We used a tour travel guide for most of our travel. Well worth it as the driving was all taken care of.
Adding that the beaches were great near Porto Viejo. People walked around selling ceviche that was great on the beaches.

Costa-Rica Surreal Shapes
In the center of the city of Zarkero (Republic of Costa Rica) there is a figure park Francisco Alvarado, named after the Filipino writer. The sole creator and gardener of the park, Evangelisto Blanco Brenesom, is a landscape designer who has dedicated and dedicates himself to his creation, wielding garden shears, creating new and maintaining his old creations all year round.
It all started 50 years ago with the creation of paired arches that lead to the church of St. Raphael. Since then, the park has been replenished with 130 figures of pine and cypress plants. There are many animal figures in Francisco Alvarado Park: a monkey, a lion, a rabbit, an octopus, a peacock and other animals. According to the designer, the most difficult and long six—year work is to create an elephant in its natural form. There are even figures in the park: a dinosaur, an airplane, groups of baskets and some abstract shapes that allow the imagination to fantasize over them.
Also in this Costa Rica National Park there are human figures and masks, very similar to totems with images of the faces of gods and relief images of ancient Indian tribes. Francisco Alvarado Park is included in the top lists of "the most unusual gardens" and "the most unusual parks in the world", primarily for abstract labyrinths of living plants, many people speak of it as a place in which there is something mystical. This unusual park is worth paying attention to, for its individuality and for such a titanic work of one landscape designer.
Francisco Alvarado Park can be safely called a real work of landscape design. In this park, visitors will have the opportunity to see incredibly beautiful and interesting labyrinths of living plants, as well as living sculptures covered with moss. They are one of the most unusual decorations of the park, some sculptures are partially made of stone, and they are complemented by interesting plants. The craftsmen grow special moss on the stones, which allows you to create an imitation of living sculptures.

Costa Rican Beach Jaco:
Beaches in Costa Rica, like jaco, may well be one of the most important assets in the eyes of visitors. The beaches come in all sizes, shapes and types.
One of the most known beaches is called Jaco.
Jaco is one of the first beaches to become a real tourist magnet. It is also one of the closest beaches to San Jose.
The beach itself is a three km long beach with nice sand and the water is inviting. However, as always when swimming in the sea, check out current riptides as well as keep an eye on the tide.
Jaco has rapidly become one of the selected party beaches in Costa Rica and the long beach has a multitude of hotels,
