Lovely colonial city stroll
Colonia is a 1.5 hr ferry ride away from Buenos Aires so it’s definitely doable in a day trip. However stay a night if you want to take in the city at a leisurely pace.
The old town is quite small but spend a few hours in the morning roaming around the little streets and getting lost around the beautifully colonial era buildings.
The city center is a newer part of the city but nonetheless has a very nice small town feel. Head into one of the many restaurants for a tasty meal of steak and wine!
