The City of London, often referred to as the “Square Mile,” has a unique charm that blends modernity with centuries of history. As I arrived, the towering skyscrapers—like the Gherkin and the Walkie Talkie—stood in stark contrast to the historic buildings around them. The narrow, cobblestone streets were filled with workers in suits rushing past old churches and centuries-old pubs. I wandered through the labyrinth of alleys, discovering hidden gems like Leadenhall Market, with its Victorian architecture and colorful shopfronts. The market, with its high glass ceiling, felt like stepping back in time, while the modern office buildings around it highlighted how seamlessly the past and present coexist here. The contrasts were even more evident when I reached St. Paul’s Cathedral. The sheer scale and grandeur of the building, with its iconic dome rising above the city, was a sight to behold. The cathedral felt timeless, while the bustle of financial activity nearby reminded me that this is the heart of London’s business world. By midday, I found myself at the Thames, walking along the riverside and admiring the Tower of London in the distance. The area felt like a blend of power and history, with centuries of stories hidden in every corner. The City of London, despite its modern exterior, always seems to hold its rich past close, making every visit feel like a journey through time.

Just wanted to share a quick review with you guys since I’m seeing this app grow more popular. I’m also posting this months later due to my phone breaking and me losing SO. MANY. TRIP. PICTURES of London. So sorry for these ones. I was in London for the Eras Tour (Taylor Swift), so I was constantly rushing and barely got to see it. However, from the parts I got to see, I would rate this place a 4.5/5. It was amazing. We had great weather, we had a lovely atmosphere, there was nothing bad happening during this time. It really made an impression on me as I’ve dreamed of going back ever since. I’m originally from north Wales which is full of greenery and cleaner air, let’s be honest, but I’m a city girl and would go back in a heartbeat. The train prices were SUPER affordable thanks to trip.com, and I even earned points for using this app. Literally no complaints. I was nervous about this app at first, now it’s the only thing I use! Back to my experience, I got to do 5 basic things; used the underground trains, went on the London Eye- I’m actually scared of heights but I got to see some stunning views, had a visit to the Dungeons- brilliant actors, wow, had my scares, jumps and excitement there- worth the money we paid- and amazing ride by the way!, ate some wonderful traditional fish and chips right in the lastminute centre, bought some tourist merch from sellers around the bridge, then went to a concert at Wembley Stadium. I literally did not have a minute to sit down, it was so busy. From one train to the next. See you at the next platform. The people could’ve been nicer, but at least there was no violence. London is one of the best cities in the world and is a massive tourist hotspot, but unfortunately that means huge crowds and queues! One of my favourite places to wander I the City of London, which on the weekend is completely empty - with all of the offices closed you get to explore this area without seeing other people. I love this area for its architecture, contrasts and viewpoints - you can see historical churches right next to towering glass skyscrapers. You can head to Liverpool Street station, bank station, Chancery Lane or Aldgate and start walking. Landmarks - you can see St Paul’s, Walkie Talkie Building, Bank of England and many more. And all this without lots of people in your photos! For food and drink most places are closed but you can find enough options for coffee, cakes and burgers - all of which are very quiet due to it being the weekend! If the weather is good you can walk all the way to Covent Garden in under an hour, or south bank if you cross one of the bridges. #citydaytours #london #100waysoftravel #architect #cityscape #explore

#londontrip #British museum I have only been to the museum once but it is the place where you could spend hours in as there is so much to look at and on each floors contains artifacts pictures and statues and ornaments and many other things from different countries and from different centuries and so it was wonderful to see real mummies and to see a real temple and also a Japanese old-fashioned house and many other things. it has things from all over the world and it is an amazing place to go but the food and the shop items are very expensive so see if you can buy them online. in the pictures I've shown you many of the things that I liked when I was going around but it does show you the variety of things that are at the museum and it is free to go in but they do encourage donations and what I will say is that I had to wait in an hour and a queue to get in so try and go when the school children are not on holiday or on half term#historicallandmarks #london #museums
