The Museum of Printing in Cieszyn
The Museum of Printing in Cieszyn was established in 1996 in order to preserve the cultural and material assets of Cieszyn's printing industry. It was also conceived as a tribute to and commemoration of the rich printing traditions in Cieszyn Silesia.
The Museum of Printing in Cieszyn is a magical place where the atmosphere of old times has been preserved. We managed to preserve the typographic printing house with all the richness of fonts, matrices, chemigraphic and woodcut plates, foundry devices and machines, printing devices, pressure presses and bookbinding devices. There are also examples of other printing techniques.
The principle of the museum is to maintain the existing and bring new acquisitions to full technical efficiency. All materials about local printing houses and documenting the activities of distinguished printers are collected.
