Christchurch offers breathtaking coastal hikes
Christchurch offers breathtaking coastal hikes.|||Akaroa Head Scenic Reserve
It's just a one and a half hour drive from Christchurch, right by the French🇫🇷 town of Akaroa,
11 kilometers past Akaroa, but it's all uphill. The second half of the journey is on a Gravel road suitable only for four-wheel drives. Be sure to drive carefully and slowly, ideally not exceeding 40 km/h to avoid losing control and skidding. My front-wheel drive was really hard to handle.
But once you get there, a 15-minute hike will take you to amazing spots for bucketing and taking incredible photos. The big rocks in the back look just like an elephant's🐘 trunk. Standing on the edge of the cliff and taking a shot is simply unbeatable. You can continue walking further if you have time. I was limited, but I recommend you go and experience it for yourself. It's definitely even more beautiful when the weather is good.
Christchurch Cathedral
Christchurch Cathedral's spire fell during the earthquakes in 2010 and 2011, leaving much of the cathedral in ruins, with only parts of the structure remaining. After the collapse, the people of New Zealand debated for 8 years before deciding to rebuild. What we currently see are fences, scaffolding, and some renderings of the cathedral after restoration (Image 7). Next to the cathedral is a vase-shaped sculpture (Image 6), made of metal with light purple and blue hues, narrow at the bottom and wider at the top, with an openwork upper part resembling a vase full of flowers, juxtaposed with the cathedral's spire, contrasting the old with the new, the cathedral being wider at the bottom and the vase narrower at the bottom and wider at the top.

Avon is a small town near Paris. There are many unknown towns around it. There are so many beautiful people, ducks and big white geese are very much. It is the kind that if you dont hurry, I suggest you stay one or two. A good place for the day ~
Self-driving Avon or fontainebleau, no mountain road, very good to open ~ is a traffic jam when returning ~
The town life is very comfortable, it is recommended to avoid holidays, otherwise there are fewer shops to eat and drink ;
Carry some bread biscuits with you, where the ducks and big white geese are absolutely, too cute, and loved ones~!

The 8th world wonder - Milford sound
It’s a Fjord not a sound. Maoris – the native people of New Zealand named it Piopiotahi after the piopio bird, endemic to New Zealand but so unlucky now extinct. Milford sound was name after European settlers discovered this place.
Here sees more rainy days than dry because of its geographical location. Hence, more waterfalls for the tourists plus the snow lays on top of those limestone dissolve. Furthermore, the sunset and sunrise are worth overnight for spectacular photos.
Take a boat ride could spot some wildlife like dolphins, seals, penguins, Kea etc. with a cup of coffee sitting on the cruise ship enjoy those amazing engaging views. #2023travelwish #awesomepic #couplestrip #mytripvlog#wintervacation #newzealand #Southland #southisland

Find a favorite riverside to bask in the sun
Sit by the river and quietly daydream
Lie down and listen to the sounds of nature

Te Anau, the favorite town of this trip, is also the only way to link Queenstown to Milford Sound. It is very suitable for retreat here when driving, because there is almost no town in the next section. There are very few gas stations, and the road to Milford is still very fuel-efficient. The price of the town is very close to the people. The RV camp is almost the most cost-effective on the way. There are many choices in the restaurant. The supermarket has four square and fresh choices. The price is much lower than what we saw in Arrowtown and Queenstown. Almost half of the gifts were bought in Te Anau.
Compared to other lakes in the South Island, there are no majestic peaks around Lake Te Anau, which is slightly dull at first sight, but it is the largest lake in the South Island. A trail was specially opened on the grass along the lake. There aren't too amazing places here, simple and pure, and maybe tired because of aesthetics. But this is the quietest lake I encountered in this trip. I didn't have the worldly cockroaches. I took a walk along the lake and watched the sunset. I was tired of finding a bench and sitting in a daze. It was so comfortable to be old here. It is the life I am looking forward to.
Wānaka Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Wanaka - Serenity like no other.
Wanaka is a gorgeous skii town in the Otago region of New Zealand. With breathtaking glaciers and a back drop of the Mount Aspiring Alps it's a must visit for any travellers looking for a slice of bliss.
Surrounded by nature walks and rugged hiking trails, there's plenty to do and see for any adventure seekers. With so much untouched natural beauty to look at, its easy to forget the hidden gem that is the Wanaka township and the great community vibes that the whole area brings. Will certainly be coming back next visit to New Zealand! #new Zealand Travel #hiking #naturalpark #tripblazers #snow Mountain
Fall Colours by the Lake
Visit Lake Wanaka during autumn for an immersive fall experience! The vibrant autumn colours are stunning to say the least. Look for the lonely tree, an icon of this gem. No matter where you look, the scenery is gorgeous. Plan this in your itinerary when visiting New Zealand! #passionpassport
The Wanaka tree is a bit of a legend on Instagram, even having its own hashtag #thatwanakatree.
I regret not staying a night in Wanaka, this is the life I want
😓The thing I regret the most about this family trip to New Zealand is not spending a night in Wanaka. I made the mistake of staying three nights in Queenstown, and I'm really crying over my own stupidity! I hope no one makes the same mistake as me❌
Personally, I'm not very fond of Queenstown. To me, it feels more like a tourist distribution center, quite commercialized. Wanaka, just an hour away, 🥰really made me experience the super chill life of the locals!
🚘The drive starts with many Z-shaped bends, so everyone must be careful! There are many lookouts along the way where you can stop to take photos, the scenery is spectacular, and there's the famous 📍Cardrona Bra Fence to check in at.
🌊Lying flat by the beautiful lake and basking in the sun, I can't imagine how blissful it is! There are more foreigners here, some walking, reading, lying flat, walking dogs, daydreaming... You can also try various activities, such as boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and cycling.
🌟Recommended check-in spots:
✅The Lone Tree🌲: 📍Wanaka tree, a very famous spot, no need to say more! There's plenty of parking 🅿️ nearby!
✅Lakeside Children's Playground: Right next to the Lone Tree, a paradise for kids to play, while parents can watch the lake view 👀!
✅Puzzling World: 📍Puzzling world, a place that combines fun and intelligence, with various mazes, illusion exhibitions, and interactive games, suitable for both adults and children!
✅Family Hiking: 📍Lake Wanaka Outlet Track, about an hour one way, 2-3 hours round trip, with parking at the entrance.
There's a row of restaurants and cafes ☕ by the lakeside in the town, where you can enjoy delicious seafood while admiring the lake view, how wonderful!
🌟🌟🌟Thank you Wanaka, for letting me enjoy the lake and mountain scenery and the leisurely life of the locals, and for an unforgettable family time!
