A very spacious and grand Shrine. Travelled 71km from Bangkok city to see this temple. It plays quite a significant role in almost everyone’s life. Many people go there for prayers and blessings.
This keeps them healthy, hopeful and happy, when there during on of their festivals. Where we dance as a gesture to worship God. Such unique rich culture in Thailand.
We did a donation of lunch box and water to the community there in the temple. The locals there are very welcoming.
Its presence in the locality gives all the residents hope, courage, strength, and right direction.

Stylish oriental cafe | Chaochoengsao
New Chinese-themed pastry shop & cafe recently opened and a must-visit landmark of Chachoegsao province. The branch was recently rennovated by a famous architecture firm and now considered one of the most stunning Chinese styled buildings in the area. Beautifully designed and decorated. Great for photo shoots. The cafe combines traditional and modern together so perfectly.
Food menu are mostly single dish - omelette rice and pork noodle. Cafe section is on right side with variety of tea and coffee, as well as puff pastry (they are known for the puff pastry, 100 years recipe). The gift shop and pastries are highlight, you cannot leave the place without trying and also buying as gifts. The puff pastry goes well with a hot drink, good for tea breaks and quick snacks.
Note the cafe doesn't accept personal tumbler or cups, not an eco-friendly option. That could.improve. Only plastics cups and straws offered.
Plenty of parking on site.

When visiting Chachoengsao, besides paying respects at temples, making merit, and enjoying delicious food, there are also several old markets to stroll and shop at. The closest one to the city center is the 'Ban Mai Market,' a century-old market.
Ban Mai Market is over 100 years old and was once a bustling community of Thai-Chinese merchants. This place was a significant trading hub in Chachoengsao, as evidenced by the closely built houses along the river. Despite the passage of time, the market's importance remains, showcasing its unique charm from the reign of King Rama V. The market still retains its original condition, reminiscent of the days when our grandparents lived there. Visitors today can learn about its history and see it depicted in period films and dramas shot at Ban Mai Market.
Besides being a popular filming location, Ban Mai Market is also a haven for delicious food, snacks, and various treats. It offers a variety of exquisite dishes from Paet Riu, including Chinese and Thai cuisine, each maintaining its authentic flavors. The market also features a traditional coffee shop known for its rich and aromatic coffee. It is a must-visit spot for souvenirs before heading home. In 2004, the Ban Mai community collectively revitalized the century-old market, opening it as a tourist attraction in Chachoengsao. The egg pagoda in Thailand 🇹🇭
#traveldiaries
Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan was originally known as "Wat Hong" and was built in the late Ayutthaya period according to evidence.
Over time, the Bang Pakong River eroded its banks and the Wat Hong temple disappeared. So a new temple was built again. This temple is an ancient temple in Chachoengsao province.
With the Buddha statue that has been revered and respected by many people in Thailand since ancient times and it is also a place of worship of the mausoleum.
Historically, there is a swan pillar in the temple courtyard (meaning swan barking in Thai). Later, the swan at the top of the pole fell down, leaving only one pole. A flag was hung to replace the swan flag and its name was changed to "Wat Sao Thong" (Flag means Thong in Thai).

Pink Ganesha
How to get there: From Pattaya, take a Grab taxi
1300 Baht, 1.5 hours
Tourist Spot: Pink Ganesha
A B-grade tourist spot
The surrounding nature is rich, reminiscent of Thailand's scenery 20 years ago
Local people (Thais) were also fervently praying.
The toilets are old-fashioned, requiring you to scoop water to flush.
There are other enjoyable aspects besides the Pink Ganesha.
It takes about an hour to fully explore.
There are food stalls and street vendors around, so you can shop as well.
We also used a taxi to move directly to Bangkok. We had the Grab taxi from the trip wait for us, negotiated the price, and got taken there.
