Carmel Town | Just like a fairy tale world
Located on the winding slopes, surrounded by lush forests, overlooking the rugged coastline covered by cypress trees. This dreamy fairy-tale town 'settled' many art galleries, boutiques, historic inns, cafes and fairy-tale cottages.
Walking in this one-square-mile town, the scent of eucalyptus, pine and jasmine is everywhere, and the sound of waves hitting the rocks can be faintly heard. The residential streets seem to be hidden behind the trees, blending with the lush vegetation.
In 1900, James Franklin Devendorf and Frank Powers from San Francisco bought most of the land here, intending to establish a haven for intellectuals and independent individuals.
Soon they attracted many artists, writers and poets, such as Robert Lewis Stevenson, the author of 'Treasure Island', Jack London, etc.
Interesting things about the town
✨Bing Crosby (if you love old musicals, you definitely know him) hosted a winter golf pro-am (a competition between professional and amateur golfers) here, called 'Clam Bake'
🌟Clint Eastwood (my idol!!) served as the mayor of Carmel from 1986 to 1988. During his tenure, he added public toilets by the sea and lifted the ban on eating ice cream 🍦 in public places (there are so many strange bans in the US)
💫 The houses here still have no addresses, only names, and residents have to go to the post office to get their mail.

BEST THINGS TO DO IN CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA IN THE FALL
Carmel-by-the-Sea was described to me as a Village in the Forest by the Sea by Hofsas House Owner and General Manager, Carrie Theis. I had not started my 48 hour adventure, but those exact words described the type of experience that I was about to embark on in Carmel-by-the-Sea this Fall. Glorious sunsets overlooking the Pacific Ocean, renown shopping, excellent wine tasting rooms, and more would be a few of the adventures that I would encounter in the Village in the Forest by the Sea.
What type of person does Carmel-by-the-Sea in the Fall appeal to for a Fall break? Just about anyone trying to find respite from the chaos of everyday life, beach-lovers, foodies, and oenophiles. The shopping and wine tasting rooms make this destination perfect for a girls weekend or a romantic weekend with your partner. Similarly, Carmel is a perfect destination for the solo-traveler, like me, that is independent, adventurous, loves to shop, and finds enjoyment in exploring California’s Cuisine and Wine.

The Complex Puzzle of Attraction: A Candid Perspective
In a rather audacious dialogue, my friend Alex once sought personal advice on what qualities a beautiful, smart girl with a good sense of humor might value in men. It wasn't until the next day that the brazen audacity of this query truly hit me, though I suspect it never did register with Alex. Reflecting on my years online, it's as though I've been presenting you with a version of myself that contemplates life through the lens of this hypothetical persona. What would she value, you ask? A stimulating intellect, integrity, decency, and kindness would top her list. She'd swiftly ridicule those who shirk personal hygiene and etiquette and wouldn't tolerate disrespect for women, children, and animals. Yet, here I stand, striving to be tolerant of flaws and embracing virtues with simplicity. Oddly enough, the notion of a "real man" perplexes me. The men I've encountered rarely boast this self-proclaimed title; it's a term more often applied externally. Max, for instance, wouldn't declare, "I'm friends with John because he's a real man." The genuine connections between people stem from shared experiences, mutual interests, and camaraderie – not abstract epithets. The paradox deepens when media and bloggers glorify "real men" who, in truth, may not be genuine. What resonates with you in choosing a partner? What qualities spark your interest? Share your perspective. 🤔💑
Flipping Coins and Listening to Intuition
A coin's flip can be more than chance – a tool to reveal your intuition. If a coin-toss decision leaves you uneasy, trust your instinct and choose otherwise. Embrace this quirky yet insightful approach to decision-making. After all, the heart often knows before the coin falls. 🪙💡

Calla Lily Valley trailhead
I’ve been trying to get to this beautiful valley for 5 years and finally made it. This place just took my breath away 🧡
📍Calla Lily Valley trailhead in Garrapata State Park on Highway 1. It only takes about 20 minutes to get to the lilies (0.5 miles round trip). There is also a stream running through the valley which leads straight to the ocean and a beautiful beach.
Carmel is the only place to drive California's No. 1 road
100 years ago, "Carmel, artist, poet and writer" has been well-known. For more than 100 years, there are only 4,000 households here, and it has become a highlight on the 17-mile gold coastline.
The sunset at Carmel Beach must not be missed. You can reach the end of the town's main street, Ocean Avenue, to the west. It has also become a paradise for many swimmers and surfers. Enjoy the sunset feast here.
Sunset shooting guide:
1. Before sunset, at the seaside, the water mist that surges in the tide will soften the light. This is a good time to shoot.
2. Prospects You can choose to walk the dog on the beach, or a family who is holding hands, it will be warmer.
3. Shooting the sunset of the backlight, the light level is very rich, but the light ratio is very large. If you shoot it, add GND mirror or later to adjust the problem of sunset light.
4. Use the three-point composition method to place the horizontal lines in the picture in the upper and lower third of a photo.
The most beautiful and artistic seaside town on the No. 1 road, Carmel Town, I strongly recommend that you stay here for one night. There are many romantic and welcoming family hotels in the town. The hotel I booked is surrounded by flowers and trees and is very beautiful. On the day of arrival, several white-haired old ladies sipped coffee and chatted at the garden table in front of my room, laughing like young girls, and two docile golden hairs screaming at the side, warm and moving scenes. When I walked past them, an old lady stood up and asked me with a very polite smile. "We are so noisy, will you bother you?" I also smiled and answered her: "No, please enjoy this." Afternoon."
After the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, some artists, writers and musicians in San Francisco moved to the quiet coastal town on Highway 1. Over time, it gradually developed into the United States. Some of the star tycoons also choose to live here. Nowadays, most of the residents in the town are professional artists. You can feel the strong artistic atmosphere on the streets of Carmel. Most of the small shops in the town are galleries, artisan shops, designer clothing stores. Whether it's a shop selling art or a regular restaurant, every store's decoration style and display are carefully designed. If you don't have time to open a door and walk in, then stroll through the street to taste the beautiful window art. Let's go.
The long track of Highway 1 has scattered a number of different towns along the Pacific coast. Carmel is a bohemian art town with antique shops, candy stores, galleries and toy stores. Because Halloween is coming, a variety of festive atmospheres fill the entire window.
The architectural style is full of old-fashioned country style, and every window is warm and light, giving people the feeling of going home. It is said that the residents here are strongly resisting modernization. It is still forbidden to post advertisements, install neon lights or parking meters and cover fast food restaurants in the city to maintain the original appearance.
6 pm, most of the shops here are already snoring, but the lights are still in the store. The clever window display makes the nights no longer lonely. Through each window, you can see the unique style of decoration. The shops are all artists, and here weaving a colorful fairytale night.
