Occasionally, joggers pass by. After 10 a.m., the place becomes crowded, especially the area near the entrance where many flowers are planted, making it a popular check-in spot. This is also where the cruise ship docks, so it's bustling until nightfall. 🍀Walking along the river, the small scenery on both sides is beautiful, with a variety of trees and flowers planted. The green lawn is a place for everyone to rest, gather, and celebrate birthdays. 🍀There is also a beautiful old house by the river (Pic 6️⃣). Newlyweds can hold weddings here. It's really beautiful, and the clear sky makes for great photos! I recommend starting from Westgate Gardens to admire the flowers, and after that, follow the main city road, City Walk. Don't forget to look at the little alleys on both sides of the road; you'll see the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral. You can enter the cathedral during Evensong to appreciate this grand building, and there are also many blooming flowers outside the church! As we were heading towards the train station, we passed by Westgate Tower Museum and explored the Westgate Gardens. The gardens are pretty and everything was sooooo green during our visit. There is a famous 200-year old tree which you can see. This tree is huge! The park is very well maintained and tourist and locals go there to admire the scenery and relax. The tree dominates the views in the park, it is really huge, see for yourself. Had to take some photos but felt like there were nicer views to admire such as the pretty gardens with beautifully arranged flowers or the houses on the side of the river. It was rather peaceful and quiet and one can relax and enjoy the birds singing .

There are houses alongside the river and they all look so cute. You can see people really take care of their gardens and the overall look of the house. It was so nice and green when we visited and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It's a shame we had to head to the train station so early.

A beautiful tower next to a large park, situated by the river. We didn't have time to visit this place as we had to rush for our train but onthe outside it was great to see and snap a few photos. You can see cars as well as pedestrians walking there, so do pay attention to the traffic.

It was 7 of us in the boat and this guy was rather small but hey, well done to him for taknig us on a boat trip on the river. At times it looked difficult for him but we all cheered him. The view from the boat were also very nice, have a look for yourself.

Westgate Gardens is one of the oldest parks in England. It's also very scenic and the perfect place to start a day of sightseeing. 2) Westgate Towers After the gardens, head straight over to the well preserved medieval gatehouse that stands at the entrance to Canterbury’s high street. This epic tower dates back to the 14th century and is the largest surviving city gate in all of England. This impressive gatehouse is actually a replacement from the original Roman wall that circled the city around the year 300 AD. 3) The Old Weaver's House A classic timer-framed Tudor style house perfectly placed next to a canal. Its name comes from the Flemish weavers who fled France to escape religious persecution in the 16th century. It’s also home to a popular restaurant where you can dine on the patio outside next to the river - I'd advise to book a table in advance if you can! 4) Canterbury River Cruise After doing some research, but not booking any tickets in advance, I rocked up to a promo stall for Canterbury Punting Company (right across the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge), who secured me a spot for a ride approx. an hour and a half later. I was very lucky as these get super busy once the summer season fully hits. Anyway, I found this was the finest way to see and learn about Canterbury, from the comfort of a classic hand-built punt on the historic river Stour. The team were super friendly and helpful, and our guide was knowledgeable and funny! An adult ticket for a shared ride costs £20 while a student one is £17.50. 5) Crooked House of Canterbury A short walk from the high street will take you to the famous crooked house of Canterbury which is a must on your day trip itinerary! 6) Canterbury Cathedral Canterbury Cathedral is one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures in England.
