The first sight of Camogli will leave you speechless, and the town cannot not leave a lasting impression on everyone. Over the last few years this colorful seaside town has gained a lot of attention beyond the usual suspects like Manarola, Vernazza, Riomaggiore, best known as Cinque Terre.
The town itself lies on a small bay with incredibly blue waters. A huge wall of colourful houses (something very typical in Liguria) stands over the black pebble beach. One of the best things to do in Camogli is to walk around the small marina and alleys, while tasting a slice of its signature focaccia, a delicious flatbread seasoned with olive oil and melted cheese. Or, perhaps, sit at one of the many cute restaurants for some trofie al pesto (a short and twisted pasta traditionally served with pesto) and a bottle of white wine.

Golfo Paradiso
Along the Liguarian Reviera, there are plenty of little towns including the five fishing village. One of my favourite fishing villages is Camogli. I have beautiful memories of simply walking by its seafront. There are places where doing nothing should be the best thing. And Camogli is one of those for me.
I arrived here from Genoa, tired from the month long travelling before. So this was the perfect spot to lay low and unwind. The train journey was a little over 30 minutes. The prices are very good for Italian standards. I was also lucky to find out that the next day was the weekend fishing festival of Sagra del Pesce. The food was lovely. Coffee as with rest of Italy was a delight. I didn't do much here (unless people watching counts). But I loved my time.

Trip to Camogli 🇮🇹
It was a short trip to Camogli Beach, Italy. It is located in the Liguria region of Italy. Camogli is a charming fishing village known for its colorful houses, scenic waterfront, and rich maritime history.
Camogli has a history dating back to the Roman era. It became a significant maritime hub in the Middle Ages, known for its robust naval fleet. The town's name is believed to derive from "Case delle Mogli" (Houses of the Wives), as the women managed the village while the men were at sea.
We visited Camogli Beach upon arrival. The beach is known for its pebble shore and clear blue waters, offering beautiful views of the Ligurian Sea. It's definitely is a great spot for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the picturesque surroundings. We really love it 😍
📍Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, 16032 Camogli GE, Italy
We also visited the Castello della Dragonara. This medieval castle overlooks the harbor and provides a glimpse into Camogli's defensive past. It offers stunning views of the town and the sea 🌊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
📍Via Isola, 16032 Camogli GE, Italy
We also explored the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta. This beautiful church, dating back to the 12th century, features impressive baroque interiors and a striking facade.
📍Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini, 16032 Camogli GE, Italy
As for food, I would strongly recommend you to visit Da Paolo. This place is known for its fresh seafood and traditional Ligurian dishes. I would recommend you to try out the Focaccia di Recco. A local specialty, thin focaccia filled with cheese. Also not to forget the Trofie al Pesto. Pasta with pesto sauce, a Ligurian classic. As a cheese lover, I just love them very much ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
💰 €20-€40 per person.
📍Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, 140, 16032 Camogli GE, Italy
And also the Restaurant: La Rotond. This place offers a mix of seafood and Italian cuisine with a beautiful view of the sea. One of my most favourite food is the Risotto ai Frutti di Mare (Seafood risotto) and Acciughe Ripiene (Stuffed anchovies) which is a local delicacy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
