[Egypt] This is the world of Aladdin! Khan Khalili Market
Located about a 15-minute taxi ride from the city center, Khan Khalili Market is a truly Arabian world!
It's a place where you can truly experience Egypt.
With a variety of shops and restaurants, it's fun just to browse, and the affordable prices make it a great place to pick out souvenirs!!
It gets very crowded in the afternoons due to the large local population, but if you visit Egypt, be sure to stop by!♬
[Sightseeing Points]
--
○ It's so huge, you can spend hours here. I originally planned to stay for about two hours, but before I knew it, four hours had passed. Even so, I still hadn't seen everything... It got dark, so I headed back.
→ If you want to buy souvenirs or do a variety of shopping, it's best to spend half a day there.
○ It gets crowded with locals in the evening, but the lanterns for sale are lit up and it's very beautiful.
→ I went around 4 PM because I wanted to see both the lively daytime atmosphere and the glowing lanterns.
○ Egypt's famous shai (mint tea with sugar) has a mild, refreshing taste, making it perfect for a break! If you can find it, be sure to give it a try!!
[Caution]--------
○ There are a lot of people and the aisles are narrow, so be careful of pickpockets.
○ They will try to sell you something, so be sure to firmly refuse.
→ I really wanted to buy curry powder, so I tried tastings at various stores, chose the one I wanted, and bought it. Every store tried to persuade me to leave, but it's not rude to refuse. Rather than being vague, be sure to firmly refuse if you're not going to buy it.
○ The same product has different prices depending on the store, so I recommend looking around!
○ It's really hot. Walking around all day is exhausting, so take breaks and take precautions against heatstroke.
○ The spice area is so full of spices that you'll be sneezing nonstop and unable to open your eyes, so be careful.
