The cathedral of Brindisi otherwise known as the Cathedral of the Visitation of Saint John the Baptist,was consecrated by Pope Urban ll in 1089. It was heavily damaged by an earthquake in 1743, and almost entirely rebuilt. Inside the cathedral, you can find fragments of the mosaic floor from 1178. Getting There - It pains me to say it but the best way is by car, 15 minute parking free, then 2€ per 30 minutes. There is also a bus from Lecce that stops to nearby villages and cities. Taxis found often enough, even during the night, negotiate the price before getting in and consult the official tariffs online (be advised they aren’t respected very often) Attractions - It’s an airport 😂😂 Hotels - Accommodation close to the airport can be found only in the form of Airbnbs and it is rare and somewhat expensive. Instead choose to rent a car and reach nearby Lecce, a beautiful city full of life all year long Food & Restaurants - There is a wide variety of food and drink options as well as a lounge. Shopping - A small, regional airport that gets really busy the summer, expect to find shops open until midnight during summertime but completely closed the winter.
