Issyk-Kul Lake is located in Kyrgyzstan, in the northern part of the Tian Shan Mountains. The lake has an average depth of 279 meters, a maximum depth of 702 meters, an elevation of 1609 meters, and covers an area of 6332 square kilometers. It is a non-freezing lake. The water here is clear and blue, often referred to as 'the pearl dropped by God'. There is a popular saying in Kyrgyzstan: 'If you haven't been to Issyk-Kul, you haven't been to Kyrgyzstan'. The shores of Issyk-Kul are gentle and flat, with small bays on the east and southeast sides. The soil is mainly sandy. The lake water is sky blue, clear, and salty. Due to its high mineral content, it is not suitable for drinking or irrigation, but it is sometimes used for cattle without needing desalination. We hit it off immediately and decided to go to Ala Archa National Park and Burana Tower together. It was so exciting! 😆💕 Itinerary Arrangement: - 9:00 AM: Depart from the city to Ala Archa National Park 🚗 - 1:40 PM: Arrive at the starting point of the park hike 🏞 - Spontaneous Decision: Head to Burana Tower 🗼 Ala Archa National Park Guide: 1. Ticket Information: 700 SOM per car 💸 2. Hiking Route: - We chose the middle hiking route, walking along the river, which is very suitable for beginners 👟 - Path: River hike, the scenery is super beautiful (as shown in the picture) 🌄 - Note: There are a few places where you need to cross large stones in the water, which can be slippery, so be careful ⚠ - Viewing Point: A steel bridge location, continue walking along the rocky beach for dozens of meters, a great place for taking photos 📸 - Total Journey: 6 km round trip, taking 2 hours and 40 minutes ⌛ 3. Facilities: The only toilet is located opposite the Hotel parking lot, 10 SOM per use 🚻 4. Scenery: Picturesque, like entering a fairyland (as shown in the picture) 🌲✨ 5. Finding Transportation: - While observing in the parking lot, we contacted a car and negotiated 3000 SOM (2800 SOM on Yandexgo) 💰 - Since it's hard to get a car at Burana, we decided to wait for 1 hour and then return to Bishkek, totaling 3000 SOM (2100 SOM on Yandexgo) 🕒 2. Actual Situation: Finally, we got a car through Yandexgo, directly to Burana Tower, no need to pay an extra 700 SOM 🎉 3. Journey: To Burana Tower is 99 km, the driver refueled midway, the whole trip took 2.5 hours, costing 2800 SOM ⛽ 4. Arrival Time: 4:00 PM 🌅 Burana Tower Guide: 1. Communicate with the Driver: Upon arrival, negotiate with the driver to wait for 1 hour and return to the city, the price is 2000 SOM 🗣 2. Tickets: 120 SOM per person, museum ticket an additional 100 SOM (we didn't visit as it's all in Russian and quite small) 🎫 3. Toilet: Located behind the ticket booth, blue small house - dry toilet 🚽 One Day Trip Summary: Each person's cost is 2310 SOM, including tickets and transportation costs 🤑 Exclusive Advice - Transportation Arrangement: Recommend negotiating with the driver in advance for waiting time and return fare when heading to Burana Tower to avoid wasting time looking for a car 🚌 - Time Arrangement: Usually, 1 hour is enough to visit Burana Tower, refer to Yandexgo prices for costs 🕰 This was a fulfilling and beautiful trip, hope you can also enjoy the beauty of this nature! 🌿✨ Special Recommendation: Later, I met a very reliable guy who speaks Chinese, is super nice, and drives very steadily! 🚙💨 He provides one-day car rental services for Chinese people, driving a luxurious Lexus SUV, which is much more comfortable than Yandex's small cars. Short-distance car rental to places around Bishkek for about an hour, costs less than 900 RMB a day, a 7-seater car, which is about 150 RMB per person. Since the Silk Road era, bazaars was the windows into globalisation and a meeting point between east and west, shaping the paths of civilisation across the world. If the Himalayas had a strong white snow mountain feel, Alameddin trekking feels like climbing along the ridge of a valley with green grasslands, and the snow-capped mountains in between are really attractive. The slope is very gentle, so it is not too difficult for beginners to trek or climb. As I walked, I realized why it is called the Alps of Central Asia. This national restaurant of Kyrgyzstan local cuisine was recommended to me by some locals in Bishkek. Actually the restaurant has many branches and I picked the one closest to me. The traditional decorations and atmosphere are very unique, even the tables and lamps are so beautiful together with the local music played in the restaurant. The city views from the 6th floor are nice too. The service was very attentive and the food was delicious. The choice of dishes is very big. Here is my recommendations of must try: Bursaki - rolls to try with tea Beahbarmak Lagman And ask the staff about their local tea - it’s so tasty. Aiva Hostel in Bishkek I stayed in a double room, and each bed has an individual curtain for privacy, and the locker has a password, which is convenient. You use a card key to enter the room, and the common area is really pretty, and breakfast is provided. Shampoo, conditioner, etc. are sold at the reception. The hostel is located well, so you can walk around the city. The shoe cabinet has a key, so you don't have to worry about theft, and they provide separate hotel slippers, so it's convenient to live in the hostel. It's closed now, but it's right next to the Bishkek West Terminal. The rooms are spacious and have a large balcony, so you can enjoy a cup of coffee while looking at the snow-capped mountains. The breakfast is also delicious. I was so tired from staying at a hostel during my trip, so I stayed at the Westin Akzollar Hotel for a day to rest and recharge.

The park’s tranquil paths led me to the striking monument of Kurmanjan Datka, affectionately known as the “Queen of the Alai.” Erected in 2004, this bronze and granite statue honors a formidable 19th-century Kyrgyz stateswoman and military leader who played a pivotal role in the region’s history. The statue stands gracefully beneath an elegant arch of columns, exuding a sense of reverence and strength. In Bishkek, near the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic building, stands the lesser-known Manas Sculptural Complex, a tribute to the legendary hero of the Kyrgyz epic. This impressive monument features Manas astride his horse, Ak-Kul, triumphing over a dragon. Accompanying him are statues of his wife, Kanykei, and his spiritual advisor, Bakai, symbolizing their support in his endeavors.  The backdrop to this ensemble is the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic, a striking example of Soviet-era Brutalist architecture. Designed by architect A. Pechenkin and completed in 1980.
