An amazing castle with the ocean view
A beautiful place for your celebration especially for the couples.
The castle is so beautiful that you want to explore every corner of it. And the good point is that you can go upstairs and see the area from above. The garden around is just so colourful and makes the area even more attractive. Plus the ocean view is one of a kind there.
Note, there is no cafe or restaurant there, only vending machines with drinks and some snacks.

Malaga tourist attractions: Colomares Castle
Colomares Castle (Castillo de Colomares)
A beautiful monument in the town of Benalmadena, Malaga, Andalusia, Spain!
Construction took place from 1987 to 1992.
This castle was completed in 1992 to honor the discovery of the Americas by Christopher Columbus.
The more you look, the more intricate the sculptures become, and although the site is not very large, it is very fun to look at the details.
I recommend purchasing tickets online. At the entrance, I was asked where I was from, and when I answered "Japan!", I was given an explanation in Japanese! !
📍Location: Finca la Carraca, Ctra. Costa del Sol, s/n, 29639 Benalmádena, Málaga

🇪🇸 A hidden gem in Malaga
Just walking in nearby area we accidentally happened to be in that beautiful and lovely area with white walls and flowers everywhere. The parrots were fliging from tree to tree and the mountains along the road were really magnificent. It turned out to be a real hidden gem. Also we found some local restaurants there and tried one - it was really delicious!

My Trip to Málaga – Day One Vibes!
First day here and I’m already in love with the place! The view is stunning, and the sea—just wow. Watching people surf was such a vibe. Málaga’s energy is amazing, and I can’t wait to explore the whole city
Spain 🇪🇸Benalmadena
This is Benalmadena, one of Spain's leading resort areas!
It can be reached by bus in about 50 minutes from Magara Airport in Spain.
There are beaches along the coast where you can swim. There are also many restaurants where you can enjoy typical Spanish cuisine!
The sun is strong here, so we recommend taking proper precautions against UV rays! 👒
Also, in Mijas, about an hour by bus from Benalmadena, you can enjoy the beautiful cityscape lined with white buildings, so we recommend visiting both places!

A beautiful castle with stunning views
Although it’s not an ancient building but built in modern times but it’s absolutely wonderful with super stunning view. We have been there during our spring vacation to Malaga in May and I can tell that teaching that place is not easy and it’s not comfortable to get there by public transportation at all but the place really worth going there.

This park offers you the chance to get up close and personal with penguins and reptiles from the Amazon, as well as enjoy exhibitions of dolphins and tropical birds.
These animals are the stars of the show, with many of them performing in the exhibitions. For example, at the dolphinarium, you can watch dolphin and sea lion shows, while another show features exotic birds like cockatoos and macaws.
In addition to the exhibitions, there is a large penguin pool and a dedicated Amazon area showcasing over 800 animals from nearly 50 different species. These animals are mainly native to the famous river, such as piranhas, dart frogs, and Amazonian tarantulas.

Andalucia Tour ~ Malaga (Region)
The city of Benalmádena stretches from the foothills of the Mijas Mountains to a small spit of land on the coast. The town is situated on a hill, which means there are stunning views. Further down are the buildings of Arroyo de la Miel, where most of the population lives, and finally Benalmádena-Costa, where there are many hotels and golf courses, casinos and marinas.
The Castle of Bil-Bil is strikingly original, a peculiar building built on the seafront in 1934 in a neo-Arab style and used by the city council for exhibitions and cultural events. Also of interest are the Jardins de Muro, a mixture of plants and water designed by César Manrique.

Steps into Málaga’s Timeless Majesty
#europetrip This photograph captures a serene moment of exploration in Málaga, set against the intricate and majestic architecture of the city’s rich cultural landmarks. The focal point is a woman gracefully walking towards the ornate, castle-like structure of Castillo de Colomares, a monument dedicated to Christopher Columbus and the discovery of America. Located in Benalmádena, near Málaga, this stunning creation merges Gothic, Romanesque, and Mudejar architectural styles, making it a unique tribute to Spain’s historical legacy.
The intricate spires, delicate stone carvings, and warm terracotta hues of the structure contrast beautifully with the lush greenery framing the scene. The vibrant blue sky overhead adds a sense of openness and tranquility, further enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere. The play of light and shadow creates depth and texture, inviting the viewer to imagine wandering through this enchanting place.

Colomares Castle in Malaga is the epitome of the essence
It is the smallest church in the Guinness Book of Records and the largest Columbus monument. It was built by a dentist named Martin who spent all his fortune using bricks, cement and stone. It took seven years to build with the cooperation of two craftsmen. Located in Malaga, Spain. It combines various architectural styles, including Gothic, Romanesque and Moorish, presenting a wonderful architectural mashup.
The castle was designed as a huge monument in honor of Columbus. The overall design is based on Columbus' three ships, and the carving is very exquisite.
The small garden in the castle and the blue sea not far away complement each other, and the town buildings, which are mainly white, extend from the mountains to the coast, making the main color and exquisiteness of the castle more prominent. The castle is not big, half an hour is enough to see it, but even if I have seen the same place several times, I still don’t want to leave~

Colomares Castle - SPAIN
In the city of Benalmádena, you’ll find the Colomares Castle (Castillo de Colomares), which was built as a memorial to Christopher Columbus and the discovery of the Americas.
Esteban Martin, who started working on the project in 1987 with two bricklayers and placed the last stone seven years later, had the same goal in mind.
The Doctor was misunderstood for over 15 years and treated like a madman because of it, forcing him to fight the building like Don Quixote. He spent practically all of his wealth on this monument
The Castillo Colomares towers above the surrounding vegetation and blends in nicely with the other structures, making it difficult to see from a distance.
You’ll soon realize that it’s not a castle at all but rather a memorial to Christopher Columbus. Included in the show are three ships and the world’s tiniest church inside the walls. This is what is impressive about visiting this old building.
The construction of Castillo de Colomares lasted a long time and was influenced by a number of architectural eras. You may learn about the three religions that existed in medieval Spain (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) and about Christopher Columbus’s journey by taking a tour of the Colomares Castle.
