#JapanFlightEvent I liked Portugal so much that I traveled there twice. I lived in Porto for a month and had a long trip, and I also had a long trip to Lisbon for 9 nights and 10 days. I'll recommend some places to visit in Lisbon and nearby cities that I've been to while traveling😍 If you're planning a trip to Portugal, especially Lisbon, be sure to read this:) 📍Places to visit in Lisbon - Miradouro de Santa Catarina / An observatory overlooking the Tagus River. It's hip because there are a lot of young people. - Praça do Comércio / If you go to Lisbon, you must visit the wide Praça do Comércio. The Augusta Street Arch Arco da Rua Augusta is a really cool square! - Santa Justa Elevator Elevador de Santa Justa / You can see the whole city of Lisbon at a glance. (6 euros, pay on site) - Alface Hall Jazz Bar / If I had to name the best place in Lisbon, it would probably be this jazz bar.. I went there every day during my two trips. - R. Augusta Street / This is a street that leads to Plaza de la Comécio, and there are many shops, souvenir shops, and delicious cafes. - Café da Garagem / A cafe with a really great view. The price of coffee is good value for the great view. Coffee + nata (egg tart) = about 4 euros. - Restaurante Cabaças / If you go to Lisbon, you should go to Cabaças every day... It's a local Portuguese restaurant with delicious steak!! There might be a wait, so go quickly!! - Miradouro das Portas do Sol Viewpoint / An observation deck with a great view of the orange rooftops of Europe! The pictures are also really pretty:) - Eduardo VII Park / It's the largest park in Lisbon. It's great for a leisurely walk. Dogs run around and it's a really relaxing place. - Tram photo zone: Bica - Lg. Calhariz A place where you can capture the Bica Line funicular view beautifully. It's especially famous for the tram number 28 view. / Elevador da Glória A steep alley that goes up to the Alcantara observatory! It's short, but you can see the funiculars going up and crossing each other. - Belem District: If you want to learn about Lisbon's history, you absolutely must visit the Belem District..! Make sure to set aside a day to visit. ✔️Recommended places / Tower of Belém, Jerónimos Monastery, Monument to the Discoveries of Belém, Pastéis de Belém (egg tarts are delicious..) 📍Recommended places near Lisbon - Cascais / I visited this place because I wanted to visit a special resort other than the places that everyone visits. It's a 30-40 minute train ride from downtown Lisbon. It's such a beautiful resort that locals go swimming every weekend. There's also a place where you can wash up, so you can get a tan and swim on the beach :) ✔️Recommended places: Praia da Rainha Beach, Pedra da Nau Cliff - Cabo da Roca: The land's end village of the Eurasian continent, Cabo da Roca! It's a 50 minute bus ride from Sintra & Cascais, so it's a good place to visit when you're traveling to Sintra or Cascais. It's the westernmost part of the continent, so it feels mysterious. The sea is also really pretty, so visit it when you travel to Lisbon! Lisbon is recommended for a leisurely trip, staying for 3 nights and 4 days at the shortest, or 5 nights and 6 days at the longest. It is a hip city with a different charm from Porto. The oldest neighbourhood, Alfama is full of narrow alleys, old buildings and markets, perfect for exploring on foot or by tram, where you can soak up the history at every turn. The Belém district is close to the coast and is a witness to the Age of Discovery. It has classic attractions such as the Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoverers and the Jerónimos Monastery. For a three-day trip, it would be smoother and more comfortable to spend one day in Belém and two days in Alfama. ＊ I live near Fig Tree Square so I will arrange it this way for your reference. Day1: (Belen District) Breakfast: Casa das Bifanas Pork Chop Bun > Belem Tower > Monument to the Discoverers > Jerónimos Monastery > Casa Pastéis de Belém > MAAT Contemporary Art Museum > LX Factory > Ler Devagar Bookstore > Dinner: Bonjardim Early in the morning on the first day, we went to the century-old Casa das Bifanas for a classic Portuguese pork chop bun, which is the favorite breakfast choice of locals. After breakfast, we headed to the Belém district. The #BelemTower, standing on the banks of the Tagus River, was once an important symbol of Portugal’s glorious Age of Exploration. We just wanted to take some photos. Then ride an electric scooter to the #DiscoverersMonument, a 52-meter-high white stone monument that presents the image of a ship setting sail, symbolizing Portugal's leading position in the Age of Navigation. When you come here, don't forget to take the elevator inside the monument and climb to the top observation deck. Finally, we visited the #Jerónimos Monastery, a world cultural heritage site with exquisite Gothic architecture that is definitely worth a stop and a closer look. Then we came to LX Factory, a trendy cultural and creative base in Lisbon. This area converted from an old factory has become an art paradise where young people gather. There are shops with a strong sense of design and literary cafes here, and any photo taken here will look good. If you are a book lover, don’t miss Ler Devagar Bookstore, whose huge printing press and towering bookshelves are definitely a great place for everyone to take pictures. I stayed in Lisbon for 3 days, including 2 full days and 2 half days. Although I didn't enjoy myself to the fullest, I have visited all the highlights. In summary, Lisbon is worth the money, with good food, fun and high cost performance‼ ️ Belem District: Jerónimos Monastery, Monument to the Discoverers, Belém Tower, and Belém Egg Tarts are must-visit spots. They are not far from each other and can be visited on foot. An afternoon is enough to visit them. Note⚠️The monastery is closed every Monday. We happened to be there on a Monday, so we could only take pictures outside. The building is very beautiful. Belem Tower is a good place to watch the sunset. Although the reviews of Belem egg tarts are mixed, I think they are delicious! I recommend experiencing the sunset sailing. It is really romantic to wait for the sunset on the sailing boat. The whole journey takes 1.5 hours, but don't go when it's cold. Come on, don't ask me how I know [Facepalm]. 🔹Old Town: Plan at least a full day to experience the citywalk in the old town, the colorful houses, the undulating slopes, every alley is picturesque, the Pica elevator, and the No. 28 tram are all beautiful scenery along the way. In April and May, you can still see jacaranda trees on the roadside, the purple color is so beautiful! I have previously written an article 📕 about a one-day tour guide to the old town, which you can refer to. 🔹Observation Deck: ✔️St. Lucia Observation Deck The free viewing platform near the cathedral has a good view of the red roofs. ✔️Saint George Castle Although it costs 15 euros🎫, it is located at the highest point and offers a 360° panoramic view of Lisbon. The view is better than other observation decks, and you can also watch the sunset. There are also many peacocks in the castle🦚 🔹Lisbon Surroundings: ✔️Cabo da Roca "The land ends here and the sea begins here", the westernmost point of the European continent, a must-see attraction, but the wind is really strong, don't wear a skirt! Most tourists check in near the stone monument and take photos and then go back, but I I recommend the hiking trail on the other side of the lighthouse. It is less crowded and has beautiful scenery. It is very stunning. ️ ✔️Azenhas do Mar A small town not far from Cape Roca. The town is small but beautiful. You can have dinner here and wait for a sunset. ✖️Hellmouth I kind of regret not coming here. We only planned to visit Cape Roca and Azenhas do Mar that day. I thought I would not have enough time, but after visiting it, I think I should have enough time to come here. 🍽️Food: Maria Catita and Solar 31 de Alfama in the old town are the restaurants where I felt I had no disappointments. Moinho Dom Quixote, not far from Cabo da Roca, has delicious food and great views. I strongly recommend that you come here to eat after visiting Cabo da Roca, but you will need to wait in line for a while. 🏨Accommodation: Dare Lisbon House Great B&B, good location, right near the Santa Justa elevator, next to the internet-famous seafood rice uma, there are many small shops to visit around, you can arrange half a day to buy souvenirs. 🚗Transportation: We used Bolt to take a taxi the whole way. We didn't want to waste time on traffic. It's very convenient to take a taxi. Moreover, it's not expensive to take a taxi in Portugal. It's recommended to take a taxi for 3-4 people. ️

Loved my time at MAAT! The museum is composed of three main parts. The first is located in the old power plant (Tejo Power Station), the garden (which I didn't explore much), and the new building. The museum tends to focus on quality rather than quantity. They have a total of 3-4 exhibits, but they are quite large in scale. The new building itself is beautiful, a strange space that is long and narrow without straight lines. What exhibitions you get to see depends on your luck, as this space requires something dramatic. It reminds one of the Guggenheim in Bilbao or the Tate Modern in London. At the top of MAAT, there is a lovely terrace offering stunning views of the Tagus River and its bridges, along with a nice café. Behind the building, there is a bridge leading to the street, connecting to nearby tram and bus stops, making it convenient to combine your visit with other major attractions in the Belém area, such as the Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, National Coach Museum, and the famous Pastéis de Belém. If you are staying in Lisbon for a few days, a visit to MAAT is highly recommended.

📍Bica Funicular - Lg. Calhariz, Funicular da Bica (p2) The Bica Funicular is a bit different from the Santa Justa Lift, as it's a little yellow tram that climbs up the hill. This location is at the top end of the slope, where you can walk down slowly and see a yellow tram pass by every few minutes 🚡. Standing on the slope, you can capture the distant sea and two yellow trams appearing at the same time, or find a crossroad to take a side shot of the tram passing by, which is very beautiful! 📍Praça Dom Pedro IV (p3) There are several flower shops in front of the square, where vendors sell colorful fresh flowers 💐, and the jacarandas on both sides are blooming splendidly. Such scenery leaves me at a loss for words. 📍O Adriano Restaurant (p4/5) We discovered this place on our way from Praça Dom Pedro IV to the Bica Funicular. Along the way, you can see the monument of Dom Pedro IV and the distant São Jorge Castle. The location is a restaurant! 📍Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau (p6) This picture was taken on the street next to this restaurant. You can directly locate this restaurant and walk down the road to reach the Commerce Square and the Arch of Triumph. 📍Miradouro de Santa Luzia (p7) This viewpoint does not require an entrance fee and is quite crowded. Follow the way up from the Lisbon Cathedral, and I recommend visiting at sunset 🌇 to see the distant sea. 📍Largo do Correio Mor (p8) We took photos from the top of the slope, where the jacarandas are really photogenic, and there's also a spiral staircase that makes for great shots! 📍Belém Tower (p9) We took photos from the park behind the Belém Tower using a telephoto lens, and it's super beautiful!

#thingstodo Jerónimos Monastery is one of the must visited place in Lisbon and it is located near to the Tagus river. The ticket is around €10 for adult and I will say this is fair price! The inside of the buildings are beautiful and huge . The rooms are unique and special with 16th century architecture style. Furthermore, I really admired the garden what it looks like and overall it was an unforgettable experience to visit one of the oldest buildings in Lisbon! #Lisbon

#timetotravel I visited the Belem Tower after its opening hours so I was not able to go in an only looked at it from the outside. But nonetheless, I believe it was still worth visiting and taking pictures with it on the outside. It is because what are the odds you will find another historical monument by the port!! The tower itself is truly beautiful and is a well maintained historical monument. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Lisbon. #wecreate The monastery itself is a work of art and definitely worth a visit. Once you arrive you will see two queues. The shorter one is typically for the church (free to visit) and the longer one will be for the monastery (you need to have a ticket). The monastery hosted the famous signing of the 2007 Treaty of Lisbon which was held in the cloister of the monument. The Lisbon card states you get fast track however, don’t be fooled, it just means you get the entrance, there isn’t a “fast-track” queue. Originators of my favorite: 蛋挞. There’s so much to see in #lisbon otherwise known as Lisboa. From the architect, history, sports, food and coastline beauty- it’s definitely worth the visit. Famous on port wine and seafood, I didn’t know anything about the country besides Cristiano Ronaldo being from there. I was most surprised how diverse the country is. I met so many people from Brazil, Angola and Cape Verde. I’m excited to go back and explore even more outside the city. #touristsattraction #portugal

The original Portuguese egg tart shop is located in the Belém district of Lisbon. The building is very distinctive. The blue and white tiles are very elegant, and the rich aroma of egg tarts is overflowing. You must come here to taste it after visiting the Jerónimos Monastery. The original Portuguese egg tarts are reasonably priced and you can season them yourself with cinnamon powder and powdered sugar. You can taste the original flavor first, then add powdered sugar and take a second bite, and finally add cinnamon powder and take the last bite. Wow! It’s so delicious, with a crispy outer layer and a soft and tender inner layer with a rich eggy flavor. The banana yellow on the top is delicious. If you come to Lisbon, you must come here to taste the egg tarts from the original Portuguese egg tart shop!

Visit Belem where you can see the ponte 25 de Abril and de Cristo Rei. You can also see the historical monuments such as the Padrao de Descobrimentos and Torre de Belem. To follow this up you can eat the best pastel de Belem at the cafe where they have been making it since 1837.Fun fact: the real name of the tart is pastel de Belem. Only pastries that come out of their ovens can be called pastéis de Belém, otherwise if manufactured by a third party it has to be called pastel de nata. To follow this amazing experience you can even take a boat trip across the channel to see the beauty of Belem .
