Bari is such a pretty city, especially the old town. It faces the Adriatic sea and it is close to the main touristic places of Puglia, a southern Italy region. Bari - Puglia This amazing city over the Mediterranean sea has something magic that can’t be explained. The down town, means the old part of the city is something really timeless. 2025 Travel | Italy's Bari in Winter Without Tourists The weather is great! I only wore a sweater when I went out today, and it wasn't cold at all, it was even a little hot. I've been here for a few days and still don't know what Bari looks like, so today I'm not going anywhere, just taking a break and wandering around Bari. I haven't even seen an Asian face on the streets of Bari. In the morning, I walked north from the train station to the Adriatic Sea, where the sea is blue in the sunlight. There was an uncle fiddling with a big bucket on one of the boats, and when he saw us standing there for a long time, he picked up a big octopus and motioned for us to take a picture. The old town is full of life, with people decorating, buying groceries, watching shops, and drying clothes and bedding, and the air is filled with the pleasant scent of laundry detergent. I came across a stall selling freshly made orecchiette, and 3 euros got me a big bag. The Basilica Pontificia San Nicola in the center of the old town is really beautiful! I especially like the arches and Roman columns. I was attracted by the pistachio-covered dessert on the roadside, and the coffee was very good! At noon, I bought focaccia at Panificio Santa Rita, and it was amazingly delicious. Bari exceeded my expectations, I didn't expect it to be so beautiful, and the streets of the city are much cleaner than Rome.
