#traveldiaries In Penang, good food lies everywhere and you just have to hunt for them, sometimes trial and error until you found one, and you feel utmost satisfying. Recently, we fpund a nice hawker shop called G Taste 1818 located at Balik Pulau. The Char Koay Teow stall owner is well known locally as he resembles a famous actor called Daniel Wu. There are other stalls like Fish Head Noodles and Curry Mee. We ordered the upgraded version of Char Koay Teow (size up, extra prawns and eggs), and a bowl of tom yum noodles with fish, prawns and mantis prawns. They tasted so good and original, and these really brings back the memories I had eating hawker food as I am posted overseas. The best thing is that you get to enjoy the breeze as well while enjoying your good food. This will be my go to place whenever I visit Penang.

#outdooradventures We booked an ATV tour at Balik Pulau and you will fins the trip very adventurous, where you drive the All Terrain Vehicle across the village, jungle and the paddy fields. The convoy will be led by a leader and all persons will need to follow the crew without overtaking. We passed by some small villages, trails and finally brought to a paddy field for scenic view. The weather is very good with clear sky so it is very suitable for outdoor activities. We snapped many nice pictures together and enjoyed the nice outskirt breeze. We will definitely do this again. I was exploring the mountainous jungles of Penang when, quite unexpectedly, I stumbled upon a Thai Buddhist temple. As I entered, I was greeted by statues, columns, and various symbols of Buddhism. Inside, I encountered a group of monks who were visibly surprised at my arrival, wondering how I had managed to find their secluded sanctuary. Despite their initial shock, we engaged in warm conversation, and I found them to be incredibly kind and hospitable. 2 Acres Cafe located at Jalan Teluk Bahang , Balik Pulau is an absolutely stunning place to have coffee and a bite to eat. The place was built with simple containers and very well maintained. It has a nice setting and ambient. The design of this cafe is very calming and fresh as both of outdoors and indoors are nicely decorated.The garden is so beautiful with outdoor swings and a small pond. #2023travelwish An hour drive away from Penang main city Georgetown. Here we went to Balik Pulau, a island countryside village. In this village, it has a hidden goat farm, consider as a mini zoo - Saanen Dairy Goat Farm - where it does not only house goats but also some other animals. In here, they do sells animal foods for us to feed them. Goat milk products is sold here too such as fresh milk, yogurt and ice cream. Best part isssss the entrance is FREE!

Ghee Hup nutmegs factory starts its business since 1953.The are few nutmegs trees at the parking area for tourists to view.The owner stay at the same place,very helpful ,informative and lovely seller.bought nutmeg drink,is delicious.Worth to visit

Balik Pulau is a town in Penang.It’s now become tourist attraction for locals and foreigners,more on agricultural like durian farm,nutmegs and paddy fields.Lot of delicious local foods.Worth to come visit or stay .

Worth a visit to the paddy fields as there has a big mural walk for photo snapping.However the view of paddy fields is really pretty .You may also rent a bicycle to view the paddy fields.

Kim Laksa at Balik Pulau Penang is one of the best laksa in Penang.Service is fast for both laksa and drinks.Two types of laksa their selling,Assam laksa and Siam Laksa Price is very reasonable.only the problem is hard to find parking especially during weekend as it is located at busy area in town.

An cozy neighbourhood cafe with nature vibe to chill out with friends and family. This place is just like every Cafe but with a chill and relaxing ambience. Staffs are attentive and friendly too. Parking is not to hard to find, there are few carpark spaces just in front of the cafe or you can park at the nearby shop lots carpark and walk over. Food & coffee and reasonably price. This new cafe situated in the middle of durian orchard recently operated in June 2022, by it's name one could understand the cafe's size is indeed 2 acres. With both indoor and outdoor seats visitors can enjoy the serenity of greens by experiencing the joy of having coffee in nature. For those who are keen to enjoy local products, the parents of the owner also organizes durian party during the season so durian lovers can plan their journey accordingly. Other times they also sell their homegrown fruits as well.

PitStop ROUTE P14 is a well-known street stall in Balik Pulau for serving Cendol Durian.They are getting a lot of attention from the tourist whereby. Balik Pulau is a famous place to find the best durian in penang like musang king and many more. The pit stop route P14 also have other stall like the popular Ayam Padu which operated by the owner, Mohd Fazli Abdul Rahman, and 3 other people and they can fire up to 12 flowerpots at a time. The price for a cendol durian is starting from RM15 , if you choose only durian kampung other better graded durian must be more expensive. As for me i think it affordable. Balik Pulau, a countryside on the other side of Penang island, has a lot to offer. One of the special features of Balik Pulau is none other than the fishing village. There are a total of 4 main fishing villages and each of them is unique in their own way. If you are coming from the airport route, the first fishing village you will encounter is the Pulau Betong fishing village. Followed by Kuala Jalan Bharu fishing village, Kuala Sungai Pinang fishing village and lastly Pantai Acheh fishing village. Out of all, Kuala Jalan Bharu fishing village is situated right beside the paddy field. You view almost all hill-peaks in Penang Island from far, backdrop to the vast paddy field. So glad we found this hidden gem, and it was quite breezy when we visit thus it is quite comfortable.
