2025 Avebury Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in March)

#europetrip Mystical and very beautiful place to visit. River Kennet is near by. Scenic surroundings with picturesque fields. National trust car park is very expensive so many people are parking on the road ( free of charge), short walk from men made pyramid, which you can't miss. Very impressive and eye catching wonder of the Neolithic world for sure! Climbing on the top of the pyramid is not allowed ( you can see signs which states that). Nevertheless, we have been told by very helpful local guy, that it is favourite druids place and they are often climbing on the top of it to perform their rituals. Also, apparently, the UFO been seen hovering above the pyramid in 2020. Some pictures of UFO could be found in google.

#uktrip Avebury is an incredible place. I spent a day exploring it's various landmarks. Truly magical. And there is still so much in the area I have yet to see. Of course the big draw is the gigantic stone circle. The largest of it's kind. It's a rather surreal experience with the village and a rather busy road passing right through the central and grand parts of the circle. The huge ditch dug surrounds the village and it's circle. Inside is a marvellous little church. And the museum and restaurants. But don't miss the other sites. There are so many other ancient sites nearby. The avenue of stones leading to "the sanctuary". The impressive Silbury Hill. And my favorite, West Kennet long barrow. (not to mention the tonnes of other barrows all in a short walk around) Still so muxh I want to learn about the history here. Highly recommend this stop

A freezing cold day but the energies were still vibing high at the ancient site of Avebury, England. This place could be described as having some kind of cosmic bubble, invigorating your entire being for that moment and a good while after. Avebury is a tiny village in the south of England but represents literally thousands of years of spirituality with its prehistoric stone circles, and it’s beautiful Anglo-Saxon church, the oldest parts of which date from the ninth century.
