2025 Asakusa Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in January)
Melt-in-your-mouth sushi for a quick first meal in Asakusa, Hinatomaru Sushi.
📍Address: 1 Chome-20-3 Asakusa, Taito City, Tokyo 111-0032 Japan
📍Atmosphere/Facilities: A small standing sushi bar
📍Key Points
Instead of Instagram, I thoroughly searched Google Maps to find this place. They highly recommended the tuna here, and although I've never been impressed by tuna before, I decided to give it a try. The tuna was good, but I couldn't really tell. However, the golden eye snapper and ark shell were insanely delicious. The eel and tuna were decent. You can't go wrong with anything you order here. We stopped after a moderate amount since we planned to snack a lot, but I understand why some reviews mention eating a ton.
📍Average Price per Person: 3,200 yen (Tuna set, golden eye snapper, eel, ark shell)
📍Rating: 4.5/5

I visited Fuku Cafe in Asakusa solo on a weekday afternoon, and it was a lovely experience.
The café has such a warm, homey atmosphere—perfect for relaxing and enjoying a quiet meal. I ordered the pancake set topped with fresh fruit and creamy pudding, and it didn’t disappoint!
The pancakes were light and fluffy, while the colorful mix of fruits added a fresh, sweet touch. The pudding was a nice bonus, making it extra indulgent. The portions were huge, so I left feeling completely satisfied!

Traditional Japanese Flavors at Hanazomukashi
#getgoing2025
I had lunch and dessert at Hanazomukashi, a lovely traditional Japanese café in Asakusa.
The atmosphere inside was peaceful and calming, perfect for a quiet meal.
I ordered the flavorful kama-meshi (rice cooked in a pot) along with a cheesecake and a black honey latte. The cheesecake was especially fun—they torch it right in front of you, giving it a unique smoky flavor.
Everything was prepared with care, and each dish was delicious!
Here’s why I recommend it:
- Authentic Japanese flavors with a thoughtful twist.
- The cozy, serene ambiance makes it a great place to unwind.

Matoi in Asakusa offers a unique and fun café experience—you get to grill your own mitarashi dango!🍡
The process is simple, but it makes eating these sweet soy-glazed rice dumplings even more special. Since you’re grilling them yourself, you can enjoy them piping hot, straight off the skewer.
The café has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, far removed from the hustle and bustle of Asakusa’s tourist hotspots. It’s a true hidden gem that’s perfect for unwinding after sightseeing.

Petika sukemasacoffee in Asakusa🍓
#getgoing2025
Petika sukemasacoffee in Asakusa is a cafe where you can enjoy a wide variety of cakes.
We ordered the Amaou millefeuille (800 yen) and the Amaou tart (690 yen).
The millefeuille, with its thick layer of custard cream and strawberries, is a must-try, and the crispy, savory pie crust is irresistible! The tart was also baked savory, and both cakes had a delightful texture!
The coffee is also delicious, making this cafe a perfect place to take a break from strolling around Asakusa.

OTHER SPACE HOTEL - ASAKUSA TOKYO JAPAN
Amazing Experience! We love the location of the Hotel very near Sensoji Temple. This hotel is in a great location with self check in/check out, a 24/7 mini mart, a cafe, and laid back common areas. It was an excellent value.
An evening walk to the temple is so nice. We will surely stay in this hotel when we get back to Tokyo Japan.❤️
It was so clean, service is great. It was conveniently accessible from every planned trip locations and view from the hotel rooftop was quite nice.

Historic and Futuristic Area in Tokyo 🇯🇵
#tokyotrip
📍Asakusa, Tokyo
Asakusa is one of the must-visit attraction while travelling to Tokyo! It is a neighbourhood with a perfect blend of historical site, like temples to futuristic architecture for such Tokyo Skytree!
Sensoji Temple, a popular Buddhist temple is no doubt the star attraction in Asakusa! The shrine was beautifully built, and is always crowded (went twice). You can pray in the temple, get your fortune told, and there are also stalls that sell good luck charms which was really cute! Nakamise Shopping Street, stretching from Kaminarimon to the main grounds of Sensoji Temple which is a great place to hang around as well! Be sure to grab some of the street food: snacks while you are there! Strolling around Asakusa neighbourhood was also such a fun and chilling activity to do, great views, slow and chill ambiance! We love it! 10/10 must visit while in Tokyo!

📍Pointing out cheap and good barbecue restaurants in the Asakusa area 🇯🇵
🇯🇵 When you come to Japan, you must try the famous food, which is "meat" 🐄
We chose Yakiniku Motobi 😽 which we have to give a lot of credit for because their meat is really good 👏🏻 Plus the price is cute too.
We ordered many types of meat to try because they all looked delicious.
The advantage of this shop is that they sell small sets of just a few grams. Since most Japanese people come to eat alone, this is another advantage that made us try many things, including:
🐄 Motobi karubi-karubi-skirt steak set meal 150 g. Price 1,050 yen (~258 baht)
🐄 karubi 5 pcs. Price 1,080 yen (~265 baht)
🐄 Tongue 100 g. Price 950 yen (~230 baht)
As for drinks, there are both beer and Coke, which are charged by the glass.
⭐️Everything is good meat. I give it 10/10. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is another good meat restaurant with a very affordable price. You have to try it!!
