🏜️ Canyon de Chelly National Monument – History Carved in Stone
#postandearn
#attractive
Located in northeastern Arizona, within the Navajo Nation, Canyon de Chelly National Monument is a breathtaking blend of towering red sandstone cliffs, ancient ruins, and Navajo culture. Unlike many national parks, this monument is still home to Navajo families, making it a living, cultural landscape.
The canyon is famous for its dramatic formations, including Spider Rock, a striking 800-foot sandstone spire rising from the canyon floor. Throughout the park, you’ll find ancient Ancestral Puebloan cliff dwellings, like White House Ruin, built nearly 1,000 years ago. These archaeological treasures tell the story of people who have lived in and around the canyon for centuries.
✨ What I loved most: Standing at the Spider Rock Overlook at sunset, watching the sandstone glow with fiery hues of red and gold while learning the Navajo legend that gives the spire its name.
Practical tips:
Best way to explore: Drive the North Rim and South Rim scenic routes, stopping at overlooks like Junction Overlook and Mummy Cave Overlook.
For a deeper experience, take a Navajo-guided jeep or horseback tour inside the canyon—you’ll gain cultural insights and access to areas not open for self-exploration.
Spring and fall are the most pleasant times to visit.
Bring water, snacks, and sun protection, as shade is limited.
Canyon de Chelly isn’t just a natural wonder—it’s a place where landscape, history, and culture come together in powerful harmony.

🌈 Petrified Forest National Park – A Journey Through Time
#postandearn
#attractive
Located in northeastern Arizona, the Petrified Forest National Park is a fascinating blend of ancient history, colorful landscapes, and desert beauty. This unique park is home to one of the world’s largest and most colorful concentrations of petrified wood, dating back over 200 million years. Walking among these ancient fossils feels like stepping into a natural time capsule.
The park isn’t just about petrified logs—it also features the stunning Painted Desert, with its surreal layers of red, purple, and orange badlands stretching as far as the eye can see. Highlights include Blue Mesa, with its otherworldly striped hills, and Newspaper Rock, where you can see petroglyphs carved by ancient peoples.
✨ What I loved most: Standing among the massive petrified logs at Crystal Forest, shimmering in the sunlight with hues of quartz, amethyst, and topaz-like colors. It was like walking through a natural gemstone gallery.
Practical tips:
Best time to visit: Spring and Fall for mild temperatures. Summers can be very hot.
Entry fee is required; the park road (28 miles) connects the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest in one scenic drive.
Hiking trails like Blue Mesa Trail and Crystal Forest Trail are short but unforgettable.
Don’t take any petrified wood—removing it is strictly prohibited!
For those who love geology, archaeology, and desert beauty, Petrified Forest National Park is one of the most magical places in the American Southwest.

Petrified Forest National Park (AZ)
#mytraveldiary
Petrified Forest is like walking through a prehistoric gallery. Scattered across the desert are massive fossilized trees turned to stone, gleaming with streaks of purple, red, and gold. I walked the Crystal Forest Trail and was amazed by the beauty of these “logs” that have been frozen in time for over 200 million years. The mix of colorful petrified wood and sweeping Painted Desert views made every turn memorable. Learning about how volcanic ash and minerals created this natural wonder made me appreciate it even more. It’s a surreal blend of science and beauty, etched into my #mytraveldiary.

The world's largest petrified forest | Petrified Forest
Petrified Forest National Park, established in 1962, is the world's largest petrified forest, where you can also see Native American petroglyphs and the Painted Desert.
Covered in heavy snow, the petrified forest looks like a painting with a mix of red and white. However, after several days in the national parks, I seem to have grown a bit weary of this reddish hue 😪, and with many technical terms on the signs and no Chinese explanations, I could only skim the surface.
The next stop is the town of Sedona, said to be the Shangri-La of the American West – a famous Arizona resort and tourist destination. It is said to be mysterious, with a supernatural spirituality, and is an ancient sacred site revered by Native Americans.
Strolling around the town feels very pleasant~ In the distance are the undulating red rocks, at the foot of the mountains are people leisurely walking their dogs, pink jeeps, and everywhere you look there are small shops and cafes ☕️.
