Walking around Aosta
I had an enjoyable experience exploring this historic city. I reached Aosta by train, which provided scenic views of the surrounding mountains. In Aosta, I wandered through its charming streets, admiring the well-preserved Roman ruins and medieval architecture. The blend of ancient and modern elements in the city's design fascinated me. Trying local dishes like fontina cheese and polenta was a culinary treat. The relaxed atmosphere and the friendliness of the locals were the highlights of my trip, making Aosta a destination I'd recommend for history lovers and anyone seeking a unique Italian experience.

Christmas in Aosta
Among November and January the “Marché Vert Noël” turns some places in the historic centre of Aosta – the squares Roncas, Caveri and Giovanni XXIII – into enchanting alpine villages.
Walking along the Christmas market visitors can find delicious local specialties, wines, traditional objects or gifts. Every day, visitors can stroll through the “Streets” of the village, between more than 50 alpine chalets, in search of a gift idea among the crafts on display such as Christmas decorations, typical food, wine, sweets and pastries from the region.
Opening time Aosta Christmas Market
Daily from 19 November 2022 to 8th January 2023
From 10.30 a.m. to 8.00 p. m.
December 25th and January 1st opens at 2 p.m
During the visit of the Aosta Christmas Market you can do a guided tour of the Roman and Medieval town of Aosta during this picturesque period.
Aosta was founded by Roman in 25 B.C. and still conserve important Roman monuments as the Arch of Augustus, the Roman Theatre and the forensic Cryptoporticus and also some magnificent medieval monuments as the Cathedral or the Collegiate of Sant’Orso.#2023travelwish #mytripvlog #tripblazers #snow

Aosta Cathedral 🇮🇹
#2024wish
Just had a captivating day in Aosta, and the Cathedral took me on a journey through time! 🏰⛪️ With a wallet-friendly entrance fee of €5, stepping into the Aosta Cathedral felt like unlocking a treasure trove of history and spirituality.
The cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, is a stunning example of Romanesque architecture. The facade's intricate carvings and sculptures are like a visual encyclopedia of medieval art. Inside, the simplicity is striking, creating a serene ambiance that invites reflection. 🖼️🕊️
Don't miss the Cloister of Saint Orso, adjacent to the cathedral. The elegant arches and the lush garden create a peaceful oasis. It's a tranquil escape from the bustle of the city. 🌿🍃
Climbing the bell tower offers panoramic views of Aosta and the surrounding Alps. The snow-capped peaks in the distance add a majestic backdrop to the cityscape. It's a breathtaking sight that feels like being on top of the world. 🏞️❄️
After your cathedral exploration, take a stroll to the nearby Roman Theater. This ancient amphitheater is a testament to Aosta's rich Roman heritage. Imagining the spectacles that once unfolded here adds a layer of historical depth. 🏛️🎭
For a taste of local life, head to Piazza Chanoux. The charming square is lined with cafes and shops, providing the perfect spot to savor an espresso or indulge in some gelato. ☕️🍦
If you have time, a visit to the Arch of Augustus is a must. This ancient Roman triumphal arch stands proudly at the entrance to the city, welcoming you to Aosta's timeless charm. 🏹🏰
Cap off your day with a meal at a local trattoria. The hearty Valdostan cuisine, with its emphasis on local cheeses and cured meats, is a culinary adventure that complements Aosta's rich cultural tapestry. 🍝🧀
Aosta Cathedral, you've made my visit to this Alpine gem truly special! #AostaCathedral #AlpineHistory #RomanesqueWonders #TravelBliss
