In the sparkling sea, we were healed by the cute dolphins approaching the boat and the sight of parents and children swimming together☺️

"Toraya Fish Tank Cuisine Amakusa Hondo Branch"
I decided to just have seafood bowls for lunch.
I was interested in the original houseboat🚢 that was featured in the Amakusa Donburi Fair pamphlet, so I went to Toraya.
The entrance to the restaurant is connected to the boat by a building, so it didn't rock.
The special Toraya bowl from the Donburi Donburi fair menu
Prawns, abalone, sea urchin, salmon roe, amberjack, sea bream, flounder... it was all over the place
The prawns were so plump I wanted to eat more🦐💕︎💕︎
The Amakusa Donburi Donburi fair is the 22nd time this year
Amakusa is the "island of ceramics" with many kilns and the best "pottery stone" that is the base of ceramics in Japan
A "treasure island of food" with many delicious ingredients from the sea and mountains
The "donburi" made in Amakusa is served with "donburi" made with delicious ingredients from Amakusa, so it's called the "Amakusa Donburi Donburi Fair"☺️

"Miyashita Shoten"
Sakitsu specialty cedar yokan
You can buy it at Miyashita Shoten and Nanpuya.
Yokan filled with smooth bean paste.
The pink color is colored with dragon fruit,
They make it every morning with a mallet, so they don't make it much on weekdays.
I thought I'd buy it as a souvenir, but it was just before lunch, and it was the last one💦
It's like Karatsu's keeran.
It's not very sweet, but it's chewy.
When I was taking pictures of the soft serve ice cream and manhole, the owner brought me a tray of cedar yokan💦
He talked to me about various things and was very kind.
A kite came close to me.

500 steps from the stairs of Sakitsu Suwa Shrine
It took about 15 minutes.
It was November, but the weather was good and I climbed while sweating.
On the way, I visited Konpira Shrine
When I arrived, the view was so beautiful that it made my tiredness disappear
On the other side of the East China Sea was Sakitsu Church and the village
According to local people, when the construction plan was first planned,
the plan was to be able to drive from the back,
but it was canceled, so please do your best to climb the stairs.

"Sakitsu Suwa Shrine"
It is said to have been built in 1647 to pray for good catches and safe sea travel, and the torii gate with the date 1685 is the oldest in Amakusa City.
It was apparently the site of the Amakusa landslide.
Next to it was the site of the Sakitsu Church before it was rebuilt.
The Sakitsu Church visible beyond the torii gate is beautiful ⛪️⛩
I'd like to come back during cherry blossom season 🌸

"Sakitsu Church"
The current church was rebuilt in 1934 (Showa 9) during the time of French missionary Father Harbe.
In front of the parking lot on the mountain side, a Japanese house with a statue of Mary is the site of the wooden Sakitsu Church.
It is in a solid Gothic style and is called the Cathedral of the Sea.
I didn't take a photo from the side, but
The gray part on the entrance side is concrete, and the white part on the altar side is made of wood, which is due to construction funds.
Pic6The tiled roof is made of wood.
The interior of the church is covered with tatami mats, which is rare in Japan.

Checked out and headed towards Sakitsu
It is said to be the earliest church built in Amakusa.
A beautiful Romanesque church built on a hill in 1933 by Father Frédéric Garnier using his own money.
I visited in mid-November, which was a little early, but
It seems that the Christmas illuminations will be held from November 27th to January 8th, 2023 this year.
I would like to see the Christmas illuminations as well.
When I followed the navigation system, the road became steep.
Due to lack of research, I was unable to visit this time, but it seems that you can also walk there from the Rosario Hall.
I recommend choosing a route with a wide road.

[Kuratake Shrine] A scenic spot where you can see the ocean and islands of Amakusa from the shrine at the top of the mountain😍😍
A breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view! !
Because it was Golden Week, the summit was crowded with people🥲I waited for the flow of people and took a photo in an instant!
☑︎About access
After parking my car at the summit parking lot, I walked about 10 to 15 minutes along the mountain path. Wear comfortable shoes.
Also, there are mountain roads along the way where it is difficult for cars to pass each other, so drive carefully. ⚠︎ Because it was Golden Week, there were a lot of cars passing by, so it's best to go early in the morning when there are fewer people around. 😱
Please use this as a reference for your trip to Kumamoto. ✍️

Japan's World Heritage Site "Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region" consists of 12 assets.
<4> Sakitsu Village, Amakusa
~A village that continues to believe in the unique form of a fishing village~
During the ban on Christianity, hidden Christians continued to believe in an organized manner, and the village shared a unique faith with the indigenous religion, such as the pattern on the inside of the abalone and terracotta shells as the Virgin Mary. After the ban on Christianity was lifted, a church was built next to the Suwa Shrine in Tsukiji.
The amazing view from the shrine
#getgoing2025
Kuratake Shrine is located on the top of Kuratake, the highest peak of the Amakusa Islands, which has been worshipped as a sacred mountain in the Amakusa region since ancient times, and was built to pray for the safety of fishermen and navigation. The view from the top of the mountain is outstanding, and you can enjoy a large panorama of the Yashiro Sea, the Ariake Sea, and the islands of Goshoura below. If it's sunny, you can take beautiful photos like a torii in the sky. Please enjoy the special view that can only be seen here.
There is also a parking lot near the top of the mountain, so you can go by car, but be careful when driving because it goes down a narrow road.

Take the ferry at Kuranomoto Port in Nagashima, Kagoshima Prefecture, and head to Ushibuka Port, the southernmost port in Amakusa City
(⛴️There are no ferry reservations for cars, it's first come, first served.)
From Ushibuka Port, it's about a 10-minute drive🚗 to the beautiful Mogushikaigan Beach
(⚠️You'll need to pay 500 yen for parking during the swimming season)
The water at Mogushikaigan is very clear, and it's even more beautiful when the weather is good😍
(⚠️There are rocks, so be careful when walking💦)
We moved to Ushibuka Underwater Park Glass Boat Marine Service🚗, and were planning to take a glass boat to the underwater park, but because of the waves, we decided to go on a cruise inside the bay. Then we went back to the port and went straight to the basement of the ship, where we found a room with a view of the underwater🐠🐟✨It was very relaxing☺️
(🌊Operation status changes depending on the weather and waves, so it's a good idea to check when making a reservation)

[Amakusa Tourism] Over 90% chance of seeing dolphins🐬 Amakusa Dolphin Watching🐬
"Amakusa City Dolphin Watching" 🐬
Kumamoto Trip 🚗
I went to Amakusa, which I've always wanted to go to
The purpose of this trip is not to eat a lot, but to watch dolphins 🐬
I've always wanted to go
The weather was good that day, but it was very windy, so I called the dolphin center early in the morning
The boat was scheduled to leave, but the waves were high and the captain was looking for dolphins, but they said they hadn't found them yet...
The first boat I was planning to take was leaving at 10:00
I went directly to the counter 10 minutes before and checked
and they said they still hadn't found the dolphins...
I was told that the chances of seeing dolphins were quite low
The waves were high and I might get seasick, but
The chances of seeing dolphins are not zero!
I'm sure I'll see them! I decided to board the boat, believing that it would be a good one.
The waves were so high and the boat was rocking so much.
I couldn't find any dolphins and was half-giving up.
Then I heard a voice saying, "There they are!"
There were so many dolphins in the sea that had only white waves until a moment ago.
I was so moved that I cried.
The boat was rocking so I held on desperately to take pictures.
There were eight passengers on board.
Apparently I was the only one who was excited.
Thank you so much to the captain and guide who didn't give up on looking for the dolphins.
It was a wonderful trip.
I got a cute postcard as a souvenir.
I definitely want to go again.

[Kumamoto] If you want to see beautiful flowers during the rainy season, go here!
I highly recommend going there during the rainy season!
We went to Nishi-no-Kubo Park on Shimoshima Island, one of the best parks in Kyushu that is recommended for the rainy season.
What makes it so great is that it has a rare iris garden that uses terraced rice fields in the countryside!
In June, you can see 250,000 Japanese irises of 19 different varieties, as well as 6,000 hydrangeas along the garden paths.
The best time to see them is around early June.
It's also close to Amakusa Airport, so it's also recommended for those who fly.
Please come and see the beautiful flowers during the rainy season!
