All Trip Moments about Ainsa
The town was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Sobralbe, which became part of the Kingdom of Aragon in the 11th century, and is a prime example of medieval urban design
Spanish Pyrenees Hike ~ Huesca (Region)
A declared a Historic-Artistic Site, the town of Aínsa features a harmonious old town that is striking for its dense, uniform rows of houses, the slender tower of the church and the massive castle walls (almost as large as the rest of the village). The surrounding walls have been almost completely preserved and are dotted with monuments dating back to the Middle Ages.
Next to the square is the Romanesque Church of Santa Maria, which was built in the first half of the 11th century and has arcades on both sides. Here we can admire its façade, its fascinating basement and its tower that dominates the urban landscape. The monastery was built a little later, in the 13th century.
In the northwest of the town center, a castle is preserved. It was originally a pentagonal tower built in the mid-11th century and incorporated into the defence system to face the Moorish threat. The fortress was later restored in the late 16th century and the current castle was built as part of the French border defense system.

Spending an afternoon in this charming cobblestone town is a must
Spanish Pyrenees Excursion ~ Huesca (Region)
The remains of the first city walls from the 12th and 13th centuries are particularly beautiful, located next to the Portal Alto that leads to Calle Mayor or the Town Hall building. There are different places to eat or have a drink, surrounded by history and wonderful views. They usually have stalls selling different local products.

The content of the Biodiversity Conservation Museum is very interesting
Spanish Pyrenees Excursion ~ Huesca (Region)
It is located in one of the towers of the castle, you can see the fauna of the area on one side, in the first part you will see the reproduction of the fauna found in the mountains as you rise in altitude, then you will see the audiovisual show. This part is not bad, but the real fun is the second part. A staff member of the museum gave us a very interesting and interesting explanation about the bearded vulture with very curious facts, and then we went to an area where we could see some birds that are protected by the foundation for various reasons.
