Moesgard Museum A museum that displays the history of Denmark from prehistory to the Middle Ages, surrounded by beautiful forest scenery. I was attracted by Google Maps. I spent an hour on the road, but I couldn't take good pictures, so I had to use Google Maps instead. Sorry, my photography skills are not good. ARoS Aarhus Art Museum The most famous art museum in Aarhus, featuring the rainbow panoramic channel on the roof, Your Rainbow Panorama, which overlooks the beautiful scenery of the city in 360 degrees Salling ROOFTOP If you like to overlook the city scenery, don't miss it! This is one of the best viewing platforms in the center of Aarhus, especially at sunset the view is simply breathtaking! And it is completely free to open~ Aarhus Domkirke St. Clement's Cathedral is the tallest church in Denmark and is free to visit! The Iceberg A modern architectural landmark in the Aarhus harbor area, shaped like an iceberg. Although it is a private residence, the exterior is very cool for photos. Den Gamle By Take you through an open-air museum of Danish history and experience small town life from the 18th century to the present. It is suitable for family fun. Marselisborg Deer Park If you have enough time, I recommend you to relax at Marselisborg Deer Park on the outskirts of the city! You can get up close and personal with the cute Danish deer, and you don’t need to pay for tickets or anything, the park is open to the public for free! Aarhus is a city in Denmark on the Jutland peninsula’s east coast. Den Gamle By is its old town open-air museum, with centuries-old timbered houses. Nearby are the greenhouses of the Aarhus Botanical Garden. In the center, the multistory ARoS art museum shows global contemporary works. The underground Viking Museum explores early local history. Nearby, Aarhus Cathedral has restored 14th- to 16th-century frescoes. The Aarhus Region is where you will find Aarhus, second city in Denmark, the Lake District, Søhøjlandet, with its magnificent woodlands, lakes, and soaring hills, the historical, medieval town of Viborg, and the old market town of Randers on the banks of Gudenåen, not to mention Djursland, with great attractions lined up like pearls on a string. Second city but not second best When we say this, we say it as a compliment – Aarhus is tiny! It’s a historic city that remarkably feels like one cosy neighbourhood, where all of the biggest sights and attractions really are within walking distance of each other. (We promise.) Despite this local feel, Aarhus has a few distinct and exciting districts which each give you a different kind of city break experience. It just means you’ll be able to explore them all in one visit!

SIRI Aarhus (Borgerservice Aarhus) First of all it’s in pretty nice location so you can see around also. The place was not that crowded and process of appointment was smooth. I have also gone to Odense one but I would suggest to book Arhus as you can make a trip out of it also l. It’s a big area with food options in the building so you can have something before or after the work is done. Very friendly and helpful staff. I greatly appreciate all they did to help us! I visited Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city, from London for three days and two nights. Even though it's the second largest city, it's a completely unknown city, and when I boasted to people in London that I'd been there, they looked at me with a quizzical look. Because it's such an unknown city, I honestly can't recommend it for those who are traveling to Europe with the aim of taking Instagram-worthy photos. However, the city is compact, it's not too hot in the summer, and the scenery of beautiful forests and vast farms in the suburbs is very beautiful and I thought it was a wonderful city. I felt that it was perfect for those who want to feel the time passing slowly while experiencing the culture and customs of Denmark and Scandinavia. [Travel Information] ・Public Safety: Very Good ・Prices: Extremely expensive (carbonated water was 400 yen at 7-Eleven) ・Language: English, Danish (it's almost impossible to meet a Japanese person) ・Currency: Danish Krone (but never use cash) ・Access: There are buses and trams, but you can walk to all the tourist spots if you try hard That's about it. Danish people have better pronunciation than Londoners, so English is actually easier to understand. Also, if you just want to sightsee within Aarhus, you can easily get around on foot. I did find information that there is something like a one-day bus pass, but as prices are high in Denmark, I don't think there's any need to go out of your way to purchase one. By the way, the most important thing to be careful of is prices. A carbonated water and salad I casually bought at a convenience store on the night I arrived came to 1,400 yen in total. I don't think this is unique to Denmark, but I think it's better not to look at the prices too much.

I stopped in Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city, on my way home from Aalborg on a recent trip, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. The city truly earns its nickname — everywhere I turned, there was charm, character, and a little magic. Here's why Aarhus should be on your list: ⛪ The most wonderful churches and cathedrals 🏘️ Beautifully hidden cobbled streets 🍽️🍷 The most varied and vibrant food and drink scene 🤫 A delightfully relaxed city 🥾 Easy and compact to navigate on foot 📷 I wandered down the fairytale-like Møllestien, with its cobblestone street and colourful old houses. Bicycles leant against the wall, it created some fantastic photography (Picture 1). 🏬 Onto Strøget, the buzzing pedestrian street where the friendliest locals and visitors blend effortlessly. ⛪ Along the way, I passed the Catholic Church of Our Lady, a peaceful, beautiful corner of the city that felt like a step back in time (Picture 2). 🌊 I also passed by the Aarhus Cathedral, an imposing and elegant piece of history right in the heart of the city and it's just close by the Aarhus Å (or Aarhus River, Picture 3). 🌜 But the real surprise came after sunset — I returned to the Catholic Church of Our Lady and was surprised too see it lit up brilliantly against the backdrop of the night sky. The contrast of light and shadow was absolutely breathtaking, a moment that made me stop and just take it all in (Picture 4). 🇩🇰 Aarhus might be called the City of Smiles, but it left me with wide eyes and a full heart. I've been before, so it was lovely to be back. It's a city that will always bring a smile to my face for it's uniqueness - it's my city of smiles, that's for sure. #aprilblooms
