"Check-in at 3 PM, but we were kept waiting indefinitely – incredibly inefficient. Each time we asked, they'd say they'd call us when the room was ready. This practice for a five-star hotel is absolutely ridiculous. I really appreciate Trip.com's proactive communication; they were far more helpful than the hotel itself. While staff offered welcome drinks in the waiting area, the lobby was stiflingly hot, feeling like it only had fans, and never cooled down. The room was dated, with a noisy air conditioner, and nowhere to hang clothes to dry. The sink water had an odd smell, and the disposable shower head turned yellow after just five minutes of use. From then on, we used filtered water from the shower for washing our faces and brushing our teeth. The hotel beach was unusable; the sand was rough and hurt our feet. The restaurant food was expensive and unappetizing. Breakfast offered a variety of dishes, but over half of them were curries or similar, which I can't even imagine tasting. Even toasting bread was a struggle; one cycle wasn't crispy enough, but two cycles burned it (even on the lowest setting). Avoid the seafood congee; it's too fishy. The room was very damp; towels wouldn't dry after a shower. The front desk exchanged laundry tokens; it was 30 RMB per wash/dry load. For drying, the left machine only had a 40-minute cycle with no time selection, which wasn't enough for a larger load of clothes. Other staff members were very friendly, but honestly, if you're looking for a beach experience, you'd be much better off at a place in Bali."

"Here’s a summary feedback about my stay: Unsatisfied : 1) There is some hiccup on the check in process. Arrived late for check in and found out the access card was not in the mail box for collection (as per instruction guide). But the owner of the property took an effort to arrange a trip within 30mins to handover a pair of substitute access cards. Although some delay but have to give some credit to the owner on making the effort to solve this problem. 2) Sunday check out is a nightmare 😱 This building is very high density. It took me and my family 30 mins to finally get a lift from my unit floor go down to the car park. Would recommend you plan your time wisely. Satisfied : 1) The view for this unit is absolutely beautiful. All the 2 bedrooms and living room has a huge glass window and it’s facing sea view with the Penang bridge! 😍 2) Cleanliness is by far one of the best in the list among all the air bnb stayed before. 😍 3) Location is great for those who have car. It may take about 10-15mins drive to the Georgetown area. 4) Convenient stall is available at the lobby of the building. 👍🏻 5) Very responsible and responsive 👍🏻 Overall it’s really a nice place to stay for family with 8 pax. Would recommend to friend and families to stay this particular unit! 👍🏻"

"The accommodation was spacious, with clean bathroom facilities and beautiful scenery, which made us feel relaxed and happy. Although the location is a bit far from the city center, the overall value for money is high, and it is highly recommended. The scenery and service were all wonderful. However, the parking lot was terrible. Don't park upstairs; there are countless narrow, winding turns that will make you dizzy and easily scratch your car."

"The hotel is very new, spacious, and the facilities inside are also brand new. Every staff member is very polite. There's a large balcony with sunset views and an infinity sea view. The breakfast is also very rich, offering a variety of international buffet dishes. There's also an infinity pool where you can watch the sunset. One evening, we even opted for the buffet dinner at the hotel, which had a great selection and delicious food. It's just a 5-minute drive to Pantai Batu Ferringhi, where there are many different restaurants offering various cuisines, including beachfront dining, where you can enjoy fire shows at night. There's also a night market nearby for a stroll!"

"I highly recommend this hotel! We stayed as a family of four (two adults, two children) in a Rasa twin-bed suite with breakfast included for two, and there were several things we absolutely loved: 1. The beds were large enough to be pushed together, making it very comfortable even without an extra bed. 2. Breakfast was free for the children, and both afternoon tea and the lounge bar were enjoyed by all four of us. We didn't dine at the executive restaurant; the buffet breakfast area offers a very pleasant dining experience right by the sea. 3. The location is also very convenient. It's at the northernmost end of the main beach area, but it's only about a 15-minute walk to the restaurant with the firework show. You can also take the shuttle bus to Shangri-La and walk from there to save some energy. 4. There are many dining options. The Long Garden food court has a lively atmosphere, and for other restaurants, I'd recommend checking reviews. 5. The natural environment is impeccable, perfect for relaxation and enjoyment. The Rasa wing also has an exclusive pool for guests aged 16 and above. If you have children, the pool at Shangri-La is a bit more fun. The only minor drawback was that the air conditioning blew directly on us, which slightly affected our sleep. Regarding concerns about it being an older property, it's generally very well-maintained, and the hygiene conditions were excellent. Overall, a very comfortable stay."

"Lovely clean room with air conditioning and proper shower. They also provide you with some bottled water and there was a fridge which is very handy for keeping your drinks cold. In the bathroom, Hand gel, shower gel and shampoo all provided as well. The hotel is very well situated in Georgetown and you can easily walk to all of the key attractions - such as the Clan Jetties and some of the famous mansions here, as well as going around and seeing the street art. There’s also a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby which are nice - and the art shop and cafe Journal is just down the street, which is a great place to pop into while exploring the town. I had the breakfast while staying here and it was very nice - each day they have a rice and noodle dish and you can ask for eggs or an omelette. There was also salad and fruit plus steamed buns and corn pudding - so lots of variety. One issue to note was noise - the rooms are not the most sound proof, so I could occasionally hear people in the corridor or even one person snoring during the nighttime, which did make sleeping a bit harder."

"Everything about the hotel is nice, nice ambience, nice pool, nice food, nice deco, nice service Hotel need to improve on their soundproofing, since we can hear the next room guest voice etc Waterpark is closed on Wednesday, so we cant enjoy the park."

"This was my third stay at The Granite Luxury Hotel Penang, and overall, I still think it offers great value for money! The location is convenient, although getting a Grab during peak traffic can sometimes take a little longer because of the busy main road outside the hotel. One thing I really appreciate is the breakfast shuttle bus, which runs at 8:30am, 9:15am and 10:00am to six different drop-off points. Most of them are only around 900m away, so instead of going straight to the nearest one, I’d actually recommend exploring the surrounding area for breakfast first. There are plenty of local food options nearby, and you might even discover something better along the way! 😋 The hotel was quite full during my stay, so if you’re hoping for a late check-out, don’t expect too much — I was told it would likely only be possible until around 12:00–12:30pm. The room was generally clean and comfortable. The air-conditioning isn’t central air-conditioning, so if you’re sensitive to smells, you may notice a slight odour when you first switch it on. You can always ask housekeeping to freshen the room up — easy fix! 😁 I also liked the little local touches in the room: tea bags, Penang local coffee, white coffee, cardamom syrup, etc. The drinking water is filtered water, so if you’re not used to the taste, you can easily grab bottled mineral water from the convenience store downstairs. The bathroom is quite well equipped, with toothbrushes, toothpaste, a razor and other toiletries provided. The shower water pressure is also really strong 👍🏻. Unfortunately, the drainage in my room was quite slow, so the water took a while to drain, which was a little frustrating. The rooftop swimming pool isn’t huge, but it’s actually quite pretty and has a nice atmosphere — definitely a good spot to relax and take a few photos. Overall, with the convenient location, helpful facilities, local touches and reasonable price, I still find The Granite Luxury Hotel Penang a very good value-for-money option. After three stays, I’d definitely consider coming back again! ❤️"

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Stay – Highly Recommended! I had a wonderful stay at the hotel and truly enjoyed every moment. From the moment I arrived until check-out, everything was handled professionally and with great care. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout my stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The facilities were excellent, and the service was beyond my expectations.
