soo, okay. Check in took a looong time, had to fill out the form with the lady, and it took a while. She seems to have everything under control in the hostel and keeps the space quite clean, even disinfects the slippers after use. People do smoke in the corridor the rooms open to, sometimes sitting directly in front of your door. She gives you the tour of the whole place, shows you what’s what, all the while saying “please, wear this,” absolutely out of context haha. Rooms were nice, had aircon, no storage though and my biggest gripe - no locks. Cannot lock the room in any way, and anyone can walk in to the hostel from the street. I would have liked to know this when deciding on whether to stay here. Nothing suss happened during our stay but I’m not sure I can recommend staying here for this reason especially. Bathrooms also were a bit meh, a squat toilet-shower combo, one for girls, two for men and one mixed. Never had to wait to shower though. Other than that, location was good, Chengdu actually has a good bus system, 82 stops close to the hostel and can take you quite a few places in the center.

The stay was fantastic! The room was spotless and well-ventilated. The staff were polite and professional, offering attentive service. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation access and a great variety of restaurants nearby. They even recommended some local attractions, which was a nice touch. I'll definitely be back!

On our first night, we were given a street-facing room, and the noise from passing traffic disturbed us in the mornings. After a quick chat with the front desk, the staff immediately and graciously moved us to a larger, quieter room at no extra charge. Their problem-solving efficiency was excellent, and their attitude was incredibly gentle. We also received complimentary breakfast during our stay, which offered a wide variety of delicious options. The location is very convenient. It's a short taxi ride to Baoguo Temple, Fuhu Temple, and the Maluqiao Food Street, making it easy to get around with kids. The overall ambiance is a quiet, comfortable, and clean new-Chinese Zen-style courtyard. When traveling, such genuine and thoughtful service is a rare find. They didn't pass the buck when problems arose and made every effort to help guests. If I ever return to the foot of Mount Emei, I wouldn't hesitate to choose this place again. I genuinely recommend it to families traveling with children.

The location is absolutely fantastic, right next to Tianfu Square. It's super convenient to walk to the metro, making it easy to get to all the attractions. The room was spotless and tidy, the bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent, so I slept very soundly at night. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the service was warm and attentive. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering both Chinese and Western options. This is a classic five-star hotel, and overall it offers great value for money. It's perfect for both business trips and vacations. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Chengdu!

When you first arrive you might be overwhelmed by how it looks at first, at least its entrance and elevator (at least that was my case after arriving somewhere around 11:30pm), but as soon as you meet the receptionist and the general vibe of the place I’m sure you’ll too find it to be a very comfortable, to not say the most comfortable possible hotel. The location couldn’t be any better, the cleanliness of the hotel is also to stand out, and the generosity of its workers is outstanding. They helped us to shop for some things online and were always willing to help on our needs, I even felt bad that I could only say hi and thanks in Chinese haha. I can assure this is one of, to not say the best, hotels you could book in Chengdu. Might get you hesitant at first glance, but I couldn’t help but feel right at home when there. If I ever come back here you can bet I’ll be booking this hotel. P.S. I only took videos of the hotel, but trust me that you’ll like the surprise you’ll get if you give it the chance. (breakfast is also pretty good, congrats to the chef haha)

This was my second time staying at XiShu Garden Inn! It was just as great as the first time. My friend and I got a room with two full beds and the breakfast service. The room was clean everyday and the air conditioning was welcoming after our busy days! There is an adorable patio outside, too! We ate breakfast out there and also relaxed in the evening outside. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. One day we wanted to go to the LeShan Buddha and the hotel staff were kind enough to organize the trip for us. We paid them upfront and they found a driver/tour guide for us. It was a great addition to our trip! I would absolutely recommend this hotel again.. especially since I stayed here twice!

We stayed in Meishan for a week for a sporting event. The hotel has clearly seen better days—especially compared to many newer properties in the area (aging lifts, worn carpets, etc.). We chose it mainly for three reasons: breakfast, gym/pool, and laundry facilities. 1. Breakfast The daily buffet was solid and met expectations. It featured a typical Chinese spread: hot stir-fried dishes, vegetables, meats, buns, dumplings, fried rice/noodles, porridge, plus a live station for dan dan noodles, eggs, and simple meats like sausage or ham. There was also a rotating Chinese dessert (e.g., red date with longan, green bean soup), along with some Western options like salad greens, yogurt, bread, cake, and fresh fruit. Since we stayed a full week, we appreciated the small variations. That said, we were surprised by the limited fruit selection—mainly oranges and watermelon—especially given the abundance of fresh fruit available locally. Breakfast vouchers are issued daily and must be presented before dining. 2. Gym & Pool This was the biggest disappointment. Both the gym and pool were completely closed, and the entire floor was gutted with no visible renovation activity. It looks like these facilities have been—and will be—out of service for quite some time. This was a major letdown, as it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. 3. Laundry There is only one washer and one dryer for the entire building. We were concerned about availability, but only had to wait once. The 15-minute wash cycle helps with turnover. However, the dryer takes a long time and unfortunately shrunk all my cotton clothing. I’d recommend partially drying cotton items and then air-drying them in your room. Package Perks We booked through Trip.com, which included a small daily package: a plate with two oranges and some snacks, complimentary coffee or tea in the lobby, and a free transfer to the high-speed rail station (must be booked at the front desk one day in advance). There were also canned sodas included, which we didn’t use. Room & Noise We were initially assigned a room facing the plaza, which was very noisy. After requesting a change, we were first told the hotel was sold out—but after some persistence, a park-facing room was “found.” This room was significantly better: quiet, bright, and pleasant, with birdsong in the morning. We were told these were actually an upgrade, and that road-facing rooms are even worse due to constant traffic noise. 4. Smart Room Features (“Xiao Du”) We did enjoy the smart room system—“Xiao Du,” which works similarly to Alexa. It can control the curtains, TV, room temperature, and lighting, which is a nice modern touch. However, it was also a bit frustrating at times—for example, it would automatically turn off the lights in the bathroom sink area. The lighting there is already quite dim and not ideal for doing makeup. It would be helpful if the hotel could improve lighting around the mirror (brighter bulbs would make a big difference), or even better, install a mirror by the writing desk near the window where there is natural light. Smoking Smoking is allowed in the hotel, and we did notice it in the lobby, elevators, and corridors. Thankfully, our room itself was fine. Housekeeping turns off the AC and opens windows when cleaning, which seems to help ventilate lingering smoke. Location & Surroundings The hotel is in a convenient area. A nearby park is lovely, with traditional structures and inscriptions related to the Su family. Within a short walk is a lively commercial plaza with restaurants, bubble tea shops, salons (I tried a newly opened nail salon), and more. Getting around via Didi is easy. Overall For the price, the hotel offers decent value. However, the closed fitness facilities were a major downside. If we return, we’d likely try a newer hotel—but this one works if you prioritize cost and location over amenities.

## Facilities: 1. **Outdated and Poorly Designed**: The facilities are quite old, and the design is impractical. For example, the shower and toilet are in the same area within the bathroom, with no separation. This means if someone is using the toilet, no one can shower, and vice-versa. 2. **Misleading Advertising**: Figures 1 and 2 in the hotel's promotional images, which are crucial for customers before booking, are completely different from what you see upon entering the room (as shown in the last three pictures). I'd like to ask the hotel management: where is the bathtub from your promotional photos? It's turned into a concrete basin, and it's incredibly dirty inside. There was no prior notification upon check-in – it's a complete mismatch from what was advertised. 3. **Hazardous Staircase**: The stairs in the room are extremely steep. You have to be very careful going up, and when going down, you *must* descend backward as per the hotel's instructions, because it's impossible to go down facing forward without falling. 4. **No Internal Elevator**: The hotel doesn't have its own internal elevator, and the staircases within the hotel are also very steep, making it genuinely difficult to carry luggage upstairs. ## Hygiene: The overall hygiene in the room is acceptable. The wooden floor on the second level is clean, but that dirty carpet really shouldn't be there. ## Environment: The hotel has been converted from a two-story commercial building. It's not noisy at night and is conveniently located within walking distance of the ancient city's snack street, Nanqiao Bridge, and the subway station. ## Service: Service is just okay. After checking in, they provide some guide articles about nearby attractions and restaurants, but that's about it.

My stay at Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu was incredibly satisfying! The room was clean and new, the bedding was very comfortable, and the high-floor window offered a great view. The hotel is connected to The Ring shopping mall downstairs, making it very convenient for getting around and shopping. The staff, especially Mauve, provided attentive and thoughtful service. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely choose Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu again next time I visit Chengdu.

I didn't have much of a detailed plan for my short trip to Chengdu this time; I randomly booked this hotel, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. It was raining lightly on the day I arrived, and I got a bit wet dragging my luggage. As soon as I stepped into the hotel lobby, I immediately felt a sense of warmth. The front desk staff noticed me and proactively offered tissues. The check-in process was relaxed and unhurried; they didn't just rush through the procedures and even kindly reminded me to be careful of slippery surfaces due to the rain. The first impression when I entered the room was how fresh and clean it was, with no stuffy odors. The layout was simple and comfortable. The bedding was neat and soft, and the lighting was gentle and not harsh. After a long journey, coming back to the room allowed me to completely relax. The bathroom was meticulously cleaned, with all the corners well-maintained. The water flow was smooth, and the overall bathroom experience was excellent. The hotel's soundproofing was good; it was very quiet at night, and I had a peaceful and solid night's sleep. At one point, when I went out, I accidentally left my umbrella near the elevator. I thought it would be difficult to get back, but I decided to contact the front desk just in case. The staff quickly helped me check the surveillance footage and successfully retrieved my item. This small incident particularly warmed my heart. Overall, my stay was very comfortable. The facilities were excellent, but what was most remarkable was the genuine service. It wasn't just a rigid formality but sincere and thoughtful care from the heart. It's suitable for both leisure travel and business trips. It was a very pleasant stay, and I will choose this hotel again next time I visit Chengdu.
