This hotel is part of the Empire chain, situated just beside another hotel from the same chain. It feels like a typical 4-5 star hotel, which is super. The bed came with soft and hard pillows, the bed was super comfortable, the toilet was big and clean. Honestly, no qualms about the room and physical aspects of the hotel. The stay also came with a free afternoon tea which was a buffet, which is really nice, and also lounge access on the 30th floor (both of which are in the sister hotel next door). What I found kind of annoying though was that despite the free amenities above, the hotel does not give any bottled water nor shaving kits or any amenities in the name of going green. I mean sure, I’m an advocate for going green, but surely everyone still needs to drink water, no? Maybe provide a reusable bottle and a water dispenser somewhere, that might be better than not providing any water at all. To their credit though, they do have a vending machine on the ground floor that serves drinks and amenities at a price.

The hosts are hospitable. The language barrier was not an hindrance since they were very willing to meet our issues. I think our supposed to be room was given to another local family so we got a smaller room. The only issue is the elevator.

As I was staying for 4 nights, I was given a room which has common ammenities like a set of washing machine and dryer (which might be used to cleanup the other rooms' bedsheets after they have checked out). Room is small (no choice due to space constraints in Hong Kong). Other than the building which looks old and scary when you arrive back at the area at night, the flat / room is well-lit and looks very new. No cockroaches at the room I was given (as mentioned by some reviews) but there were a few ants here and there and I guess unavoidable due to it being a relatively old building. Most importantly, best to have a wechat acc, so you can communicate with the owner easily.

The place is comparatively spacious than most Hong Kong hostels. The place is clean and well-maintained. They have a digital door lock for security. They do housekeeping every day, cleaning the room, setting up the beds, and providing change of towels and toilet paper. Location-wise, they are also very near TST station, restaurants, and grocery stores, which is very convenient. I would highly recommend this place!

This is the definition of a budget room in Hong Kong: very, very, VERY small, the shower is above the toilets, and the bed can feel a bit small if you're 1.80 meter tall or above. The guesthouse is located on the 7th floor of the notorious yet fascinating Chungking Mansion Building (If you haven't heard about it, Google it). Having said that, the employees were extremely kind and helpful, and offered an even better price when we asked in person to extend for 2 extra nights.

I recently stayed at Kam Mun Guesthouse during my trip to Hong Kong, and it was a fantastic experience! The location was incredibly convenient, with easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and popular attractions. The staff were very friendly, accommodating, and made us feel at home throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained, providing all the essentials we needed. It was also family-friendly, which was important for us as we traveled with our baby. Despite being in a bustling area, the guesthouse offered a peaceful and comfortable environment. Overall, Kam Mun Guesthouse is a great choice for travelers looking for affordable yet high-quality accommodations in Hong Kong. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again on our next visit!

The housekeeping opened my door while do not disturb was posted. She yanked my bedcover off me while no decent and gave it to another guest. The same housekeeper cut her finger on the sharp edge of the door and blamed me. The police were notified and the owner was ordered to give a refund for days paid for but not honored. Dirty rags, exposed wires, and construction worker blood all over floor hallway and room. Still no refund. They are hostile to foreigners.

MManta1Resort is an inflated term. Pool closed, spa closed, rooms are upstairs but there is no elevator so be ready to carry your bags. Small washer and dryer in the sauna room, outdated fitness equipment. Weird 'token' system for using the 'resort' things like washer or sauna.Interesting little game area downstairs, a couple kayaks and bikes to rent. Few real amenities that would make this a ”resort”. It's a decent hotel. The rooms are clean but the windows don't open so it gets very stuffy, the fridge froze everything and the bathroom is tiny and dated. My view was gross, so I kept the shade down. When the tide is out there is a beach, it is close to the ferry pier and a very pretty view when the construction is not going. The sun rises right in front of the hotel! Restaurant has a large menu for dinner, but only one choice for breakfast (set meal or nothing). What saves this place is the staff! They are wonderful, lovely people!

CCasey BernandoPros: a very nice, beautiful and clean room. It’s like staying in a condominium. I genuinely liked the room and will come back to stay here again one day. The free shuttle is very helpful as well to send us to the nearest MTR.  The lady who works as a security or street controller was very sweet and helfpul. The views around the hotel are beautiful. Cons: 2-3km away from the nearest mall and neighborhood. I had walked so far away and still not arriving 🤣  Literally there’s nothing around the hotel so you gotta buy things beforehand otherwise you’ll be starving and thirsty! The hotel doesn’t provide drinking water which is crazy 😭 or maybe this is common in HK? Coming from Thailand, we are treated with full service and when we want something, they will give us immediately but here is different 😔  I just didnt like the fact that we had to buy drinking water cause this is a 4* hotel. At least provide a water dispenser on each floor.

EEdiGThe hotel positions itself as a 4-star establishment, but it falls short of that mark. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Location: The location is excellent, if you don't mind a steep uphill walk. However, the entire island is built on different levels, which isn't a negative but rather a positive – a daily workout! There's a bus stop right by the hotel, making it easy to reach the metro instead of walking up and down, straining your leg muscles. Next door is a botanical and zoological garden where you can take a stroll. By the way, entry is free. A 10-minute walk down the hill leads to the cable car ”tram” stop for a trip to Victoria Peak. Check-in: Check-in was fast, but a USD 300 deposit is required, which isn't mentioned on either the trip.com website or the hotel's website. If you need an adapter for your electronic devices, ask for one right away – the receptionist won't offer it. Room: The room is relatively clean, though I did find some hair in the kitchen and on the bedding. For Hong Kong, the room is spacious, but there's nowhere to store a suitcase. You can set the temperature on the air conditioner, but it doesn't work. It only blows cold air, making the room humid. Kitchen: The kitchen is minimally equipped, but it's sufficient. However, upon check-in, they warn you that the stove can only be used for reheating food, not cooking, as the fire alarm system is very sensitive and might activate the siren due to hot steam. You must turn on the exhaust fan to full power and the air conditioner to avoid triggering the alarm. Why bother having a kitchen at all? Bathroom: The same situation as with the kitchen – you need to close the door and turn on the air conditioner at full power while showering to avoid the fire alarm being triggered by steam from the bathroom. The shower hose started leaking on the second day of my stay. It was replaced with a new one, which also leaked. When the technician replaced the hose, did he check if the equipment was working properly? I doubt it. Breakfast: Breakfast is only served from a menu, which is quite limited. It's delicious, but not diverse. Is this the service you'd expect from a 4-star hotel? The breakfast organization is chaotic – staff running around and clanging dishes. Two slow coffee machines and one toaster keep guests waiting in line. By the way, there are plastic mugs for tea and coffee. The only fruit options are two types of apples – red and green. Service: The service is polite, but I'd say it's ”on demand.” You need to ask for shampoo, shower gel, and dishwashing liquid to be refilled. The housekeeping, for some reason, doesn't notice the need to replenish hygiene products in the bathroom and kitchen. Environmentalism: As in all of Hong Kong, they no longer provide water in plastic bottles. That's good, but come up with an alternative so guests don't have to go to the store for water. In my opinion, this environmental concern is simply an opportunity to reduce service costs while maintaining high accommodation prices. Speaking of breakfast again, the jam and butter are provided in small plastic containers, just like on airplanes. Is this really about caring for the environment? Conclusion: Overall, it's a good choice if you're not bothered by the minor service inconsistencies and if you don't have high expectations for a 4-star hotel. If you're visiting Hong Kong, I'd recommend Two MacDonell Road.

GGuest UserLocated at Wan Chai, one of the main living area at island. Since it was operated by renovation of old house, there are no evaluator at main living building and reception is actually ground floor of building nearby, but they try the best to make them connected by rooftops as public garden and bridge. They make very effective use for space, as there is a pillar at the middle of single room. anyway I think it is good enough for daily lives and the price. Recommended, if you do not need too much space with luxurious. Wish coming here again!

WWhiteEverything about this stay was just ok. The room was small and quite over priced for what you get. No bathmat was annoying and though provided with paper slippers, not being able to properly dry your feet getting out of the shower was not nice. 2 glasses, a kettle, paper slippers. 2 small bath towels and disposable hand towels did not seem adequate for the expensive room price. The window glass is very thin and made me believe the window was open all night due to the was I could hear every sound outside. All in all the hotel is showing it's age and not really a value for the money. I will try a different hotel next time unless the price goes down substantially on this one.

BbarlesqueeeWe had a fantastic stay at Royal Plaza Hotel! The room was incredibly spacious, which is a rare find in Hong Kong. The wide bathtub was perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day out. Everything was clean and well-maintained, giving us a very comfortable experience. The hotel’s location is super convenient—direct access to the MTR makes getting around the city a breeze. It’s connected to a shopping mall, which made dining and shopping very easy, and there’s even a playground that was great for the kids. We also loved how close the hotel is to the night market and several other malls in the area—plenty to explore within walking distance! Highly recommend this hotel for families, couples, or anyone who wants comfort and convenience in the heart of Hong Kong.

On my most recent hotel stay, the overall experience was very pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located close to major attractions for sightseeing and shopping. When checking in, the staff at the front desk were warm and friendly, completed the procedure quickly and efficiently, and made me feel right at home. The interior of the room is spacious, the decoration is modern and comfortable, and the bed is extremely soft, allowing me to enjoy a good sleep every night. The bathroom is well-equipped, clean and tidy, and the shower has strong water flow, making me feel relaxed every time I take a shower. The hotel's restaurant provides a variety of cuisine, and the breakfast variety is very rich. Whether it is Western breakfast or Asian style, it can meet the needs of different tastes. In addition, the hotel also has a gym and swimming pool, which allows me to stay active during my busy schedule. Overall, the hotel I stayed at this time exceeded my expectations. Both the service and facilities were excellent. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and look forward to visiting again next time.

KKathyThe hotel has a perfect location near the airport, which made travel very convenient. The accommodation includes airport pick-up and drop-off, which was a great bonus. However, the room was quite small for two people, especially with a lot of luggage — it felt cramped. We had dinner at the restaurant near the lobby but found it to be significantly overpriced. Additionally, amenities like the rooftop and pool closed early, so we weren’t able to enjoy them after dinner. Overall, it is a convenient stay but with some drawbacks.
