Yunnan | Tinas Hostel in Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge is great, I want to experience a youth hostel!

🚗 Shangri-La Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge International Youth Hostel is also called Tinas, and it is a youth hostel that can accommodate foreign tourists. If you take the direct bus to Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge, it will take you to this hostel. 🚗 A few years ago, I took a bus from Lijiang to Shangri-La, passing by Tiger Leaping Gorge. The driver seemed to be the owner of this hostel. At that time, I just walked around Tiger Leaping Gorge, and this time I came to walk the high road, so I thought I would stay here. Apart from being a bit far from the halfway hostel (1–2 hours' walk), everything else is very convenient, and the owner is very friendly. 🚗 Because I arrived late, I just asked for a bed, and I didn't expect to have a room to myself, with a view of the gorge outside. The only downside of the dormitory is that the toilet and shower are outside, so you have to go out, and it is a bit cold outside at night.

Songzanlin Monastery

Songzanlin Monastery

❤️Recommended Reason: Ganden Songzanlin Monastery is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan Province, and also one of the famous large monasteries in the Kang region. It is also the center of the Gelug (Yellow) School of Tibetan Buddhism in the Sichuan-Yunnan area, holding a pivotal position throughout the Tibetan area and is known as the 'Little Potala Palace'. The monastery is built against the mountain and looks like an ancient castle, embodying the pinnacle of Tibetan architectural art, and is also known as the 'Tibetan Art Museum'. The monastery's architecture is a collection of the essence of Tibetan religious culture, with its buildings glittering in gold and richly decorated with gilded copper tiles. The temple corners are adorned with mythical creatures, and the grand Tshogchen (main assembly hall) is spacious and magnificent. Inside the hall, many Buddha statues are enshrined, with the towering and sacred Kuntang, and the exquisite murals and carvings on both sides of the western wings are dazzling. 📝Note tips: Groups of twenty are allowed to enter, with a dedicated guide for leading and explaining. Due to the high altitude, it is necessary to go up slowly, otherwise, it is easy to suffer from altitude sickness.

Gedan Songzalin Lamasery, 📍Shangri-la

During my trip in Yunnan, we did a night stay at Shangri-la and it was a memorable time.. We went to “Songzanlin Scenic Area”, which is a 20 mins drive away from the city of Shangrila and can easily catch a didi. The ticket for the entrance is 90 rmb which includes the bus ride towards the “Gedan Songzalin Lamasery”, which is one of the oldest Buddhist Monasteries in Yunnan. The walk up through the village towards the Monastery is absolutely breathtaking and the cultural architecture and the colors and just the atmosphere of the whole place is really worth a visit.. Its so tranquil sitting there and watching people wearing traditional Yunnan costumes and having gorgeous pictures taken 🤩🤩🤩 It was an amazing experience which I would never forget so if your in the area, you deffo need to spend the afternoon in this area and enjoy the atmosphere 🤩🤩🤩 📍Songzanlin Scenic Area 🕰10:00 - 18:00 💰 90 rmb #passionpassport

Tiger Leaping Gorge

Tiger Leaping gorge hiking tour is definitely a must when you are visiting a Yunnan province. It s definitely both mentally and physically challenging, depending on time you have to spend hiking. Actual Tiger leaping Gorge is a bit crowded, so if you want to enjoy hiking fully, you might consider to visit that first, than to go to the mountain. There s 2 path for hiking. Upper and middle tracking route. We did middle one, due to lack of time. We came to Naxi family Guesthouse by car, from there we climbed to the top of 28 bends, definitely most challenging part of the hike, and we came all the way back to Halfway guesthouse from where we organized a car to drop us back to the Qiaotou town. Tea horse guesthouse is definitely a must stay place, fat least for a beer or short break, but i would definitely recommend you to stay there over the night. Especially if you choose to hike couple of days, since full track is long about 22km. You have stunning view on Jade snow mountain. They seem unreal. So it’s definitely a recommendation to do this hike and to enjoy beautiful nature that Yunnan can provide. #gorgeousyunnan #jademountain #hiking #tigerleapinggorge #habasnowmountain #naxi

Songzanlinsi: A Yellow Wonder

#discoverchina Even though it has the title of The Little Potala Palace, there was nothing little about this monastery that is painted in bright yellow and orange and its gold coated roof ornaments, each with its own meaning and representation. The pricier ticket comes with a bus service and a guide who detailedly explains every single major painting or history (which I had to skip most of due to time constraints) but you do have to climb about 100 steps up to the monastery in the thin air so do bring your oxygen containers. The view from the balcony of the main hall is stunning: the wetlands, the tiny village in which the monks live, the golden statutes, and the monks below performing rituals.

2 days 1 night hiking at Tiger Leaping Gorge

#chinatrip Tiger Leaping Gorge, located in Yunnan, China, is one of the deepest river canyons in the world. Nestled between the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain, it offers breathtaking views of towering cliffs, roaring rapids, and terraced farmlands. Starting at Naxi Ya Ge guesthouse, after 4-5hours of hike, we ate lunch Tea Horse Guesthouse which we can admire the views with a cup of coffee. After which, we continue hiking for 2hours which we finally reached the hotel of the night. We stayed at Judy Guest house during the night with a scenic balcony view of the Tiger leaping gorge. The next day was a chill hike to the last Zhang Lao Shi guesthouse at the end of the trail where the driver will pick us up.

Pudacuo National Park

Pudacuo National Park

Hey everyone! If you're yearning for a deep embrace with nature, Pudacuo National Park is an absolute must-visit! Located in Shangri-La, this wonderland boasts crystal-clear lakes, vast meadows, and dense, ancient forests. Every corner is breathtakingly beautiful. Today, I'm sharing a super detailed Pudacuo travel guide to help you navigate this gem! 📅Best Time to Visit Pudacuo is beautiful year-round, but each season has its unique charm. From May to July, it's a feast of flowers, with azaleas blooming all over the mountains, transforming the park into a sea of blossoms. From September to November, autumn paints the forests in vibrant hues of gold and orange, resembling a natural oil painting. If you want to enjoy the snowscape, December to February is a good choice, with a fairytale-like world covered in silver. However, note that some attractions may be closed in winter due to snow accumulation. 🎫Tickets and Purchase Methods Tickets can be purchased in advance on the official WeChat account of Pudacuo National Park or major travel platforms. An adult ticket + sightseeing bus ticket costs about [X] yuan. On-site ticket purchases are also convenient, but advance booking is recommended during peak season to avoid delays. 🚗Transportation Guide Self-driving: From Shangri-La city center, take the Xiangli Expressway for about 40 minutes. The road conditions are good, and the scenery along the way is picturesque. Public transportation: Take the shuttle bus to Pudacuo National Park from the Shangri-La Passenger Transport Station. Buses are limited, so remember to check the departure times in advance. Chartered car/carpooling: If you are traveling with a larger group, chartering a car or carpooling is a convenient option, allowing you to customize your itinerary and stop to admire the scenery along the way. Tour Route Planning Pudacuo National Park mainly consists of Shudu Lake, Mili Tang Alpine Pasture, and Bita Lake. There are sightseeing buses within the park, stopping at each attraction, making it very convenient. First Stop: Shudu Lake The sightseeing bus will first take you to Shudu Lake. There are three routes here. The walking trail is about 3.3 kilometers long, and it takes about 2-3 hours to stroll and enjoy the scenery. If you don't want to walk too much, you can choose a half-walk, take a boat tour for a section, and then walk the rest of the way along the trail. Of course, you can also take a boat tour for the entire journey, enjoying the lake and mountain scenery of Shudu Lake. The shimmering lake surface reflects the green trees on the shore, making you feel like you're in a fairyland. Second Stop: Mili Tang Alpine Pasture Next, take the sightseeing bus to Mili Tang Alpine Pasture. This is a vast plateau meadow, lush green in spring and summer, with herds of cattle and sheep; in autumn, it turns golden, leaving you speechless. Overlook the entire pasture from the viewing platform, feel the vastness and magnificence of nature, and take photos. It's a super photogenic spot! Third Stop: Bita Lake The last stop is Bita Lake. Bita Lake is a plateau freshwater lake, surrounded by mountains and dense forests. Stroll along the lakeside trail, and you can see fish swimming in the water. If you're lucky, you might even encounter various rare birds. The scenery here is tranquil and charming, immersing you in the embrace of nature. Tour Duration It is recommended to allocate a full day for the entire tour, so you can fully appreciate the beauty of Pudacuo without rushing. Start early in the morning, enjoy the park leisurely, and have lunch at the restaurant in the scenic area, trying local specialties such as yak yogurt and butter tea. Photo Spots Sdudu Lake Plank Road: The wooden plank road extends to the lake, with green mountains and clear water as the backdrop, making every shot a masterpiece. Mili Tang Viewing Platform: The vast pasture unfolds before your eyes. Under the blue sky and white clouds, every photo is stunning. Bita Lake Lakeside: The trees, grass, and lake water complement each other, creating a perfect spot for photography. Important Notes Pudacuo is at a high altitude, so avoid strenuous exercise during the tour to prevent altitude sickness. If you have mild altitude sickness symptoms, rest appropriately and drink plenty of water. Seek medical attention if the symptoms are severe. Bring warm clothes. Even in summer, the temperature difference between day and night is significant, especially by the lake, where it can get quite cold when the wind blows. Protect the environment. Do not litter and maintain the beauty and cleanliness of the scenic area. Pudacuo National Park is truly a place you won't want to leave! The beautiful scenery here can heal all fatigue and worries. Save this guide and embark on a spontaneous trip to Shangri-La! 💕

Balagezong Grand Canyon Park

Balagezong Grand Canyon park is located about 1.5-2 hours drive from Shangri-La, towards the north. The park contains some of the following scenic areas and attractions: - Tibetan Cultural Experience Center - Bala Village - Echo Wall High-Altitude Glass Skywalk - Shambara Natural Pagoda - Gallery Road - Bodhi Tree Since the park is very big and steep, it is required to use the shuttle buses of the park to go from place to place. The Tibetan Cultural Experience Center is actually a Tibetan Buddhist temple, which you can enter and even go up to the second floor. The Bala Village does not seem to be a real village. It is a complex of buildings belonging to a hotel inside the park. In the village there are two restaurants, one is the hotel's, and a second one sells traditional Tibetan food. The Echo Wall High-Altitude Glass Skywalk is reached after a relatively short hike along a path attached to the side of a cliff. From the skywalk you will be able to see a big part of the canyon. No one in the group that I traveled with attempted to shout in order to hear an echo. On the way back you can ride on a zipline for an extra fee. To go to Shambara Natural Pagoda you have to pay an extra fee (I'm not sure if it's 75 or 100RMB). Since I chose not to go there, I'm not sure what there is to see. According to the pictures I saw, it is a mountain peak in the shape of a Pagoda. The Gallery Road is a raised road along the river flowing in the canyon. The water there is crystal clear and flows rapidly. After walking about half an hour, you reach a boat house at the end of the road, where for an additional 100RMB you can choose to take a rubber boat back to the beginning of the gallery. The Bodhi Tree is located near the parking lot of the park, outside the park entrance. It is an ancient holy tree (a few thousand years old) growing on a cliff wall. The road to the park is beautiful, and I would consider it part of the attraction. #China #shangrila #balagezong

No exaggeration, this is a place where you don't want to leave once you check in!

Before I arrived, I never thought it would be so beautiful here It's like walking into a manor belonging to nature Pictures and videos are not as good as your own experience Maybe you should come here in person See how the plants here are so desirable . ❤️Check-in experience: ① Not open to the public, the manor only accepts guests, giving everyone a complete holiday experience ② The animals are all in the manor, currently there are alpacas, Alaskas, dwarf horses, sika deer, coel ducks, flocks of sheep, black swans, and rabbits. They live in the manor every day, they are very gentle, you can take pictures and feed them ③ Equipped with a restaurant and coffee shop, you can enjoy gourmet food without leaving the house ④ Arranged breakfast, afternoon tea, good night milk, pick-up and drop-off service ⑤ There are also Tibetan costume experience and travel shooting experience ⑥ There is also billiards that can be played unlimited times . ❤️Small tips: If you are a lazy person You can lie in the manor for 2 days without going out and feel very enjoyable If you want to play around Then it will also give you a guide to the nearby tour Don't worry, there will be surprises when you set off . ❤️Precautions: The temperature difference in Shangri-La is large, and the ultraviolet rays are strong. You should do a good job of sun protection and moisturizing when you go out, and pay attention to adding and subtracting clothes at any time
