🚗 Shangri-La Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge International Youth Hostel is also called Tinas, and it is a youth hostel that can accommodate foreign tourists. If you take the direct bus to Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge, it will take you to this hostel. 🚗 A few years ago, I took a bus from Lijiang to Shangri-La, passing by Tiger Leaping Gorge. The driver seemed to be the owner of this hostel. At that time, I just walked around Tiger Leaping Gorge, and this time I came to walk the high road, so I thought I would stay here. Apart from being a bit far from the halfway hostel (1–2 hours' walk), everything else is very convenient, and the owner is very friendly. 🚗 Because I arrived late, I just asked for a bed, and I didn't expect to have a room to myself, with a view of the gorge outside. The only downside of the dormitory is that the toilet and shower are outside, so you have to go out, and it is a bit cold outside at night.

Songzanlin Monastery

❤️Recommended Reason: Ganden Songzanlin Monastery is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Yunnan Province, and also one of the famous large monasteries in the Kang region. It is also the center of the Gelug (Yellow) School of Tibetan Buddhism in the Sichuan-Yunnan area, holding a pivotal position throughout the Tibetan area and is known as the 'Little Potala Palace'. The monastery is built against the mountain and looks like an ancient castle, embodying the pinnacle of Tibetan architectural art, and is also known as the 'Tibetan Art Museum'. The monastery's architecture is a collection of the essence of Tibetan religious culture, with its buildings glittering in gold and richly decorated with gilded copper tiles. The temple corners are adorned with mythical creatures, and the grand Tshogchen (main assembly hall) is spacious and magnificent. Inside the hall, many Buddha statues are enshrined, with the towering and sacred Kuntang, and the exquisite murals and carvings on both sides of the western wings are dazzling. 📝Note tips: Groups of twenty are allowed to enter, with a dedicated guide for leading and explaining. Due to the high altitude, it is necessary to go up slowly, otherwise, it is easy to suffer from altitude sickness.

Gedan Songzalin Lamasery, 📍Shangri-la

During my trip in Yunnan, we did a night stay at Shangri-la and it was a memorable time.. We went to “Songzanlin Scenic Area”, which is a 20 mins drive away from the city of Shangrila and can easily catch a didi. The ticket for the entrance is 90 rmb which includes the bus ride towards the “Gedan Songzalin Lamasery”, which is one of the oldest Buddhist Monasteries in Yunnan. The walk up through the village towards the Monastery is absolutely breathtaking and the cultural architecture and the colors and just the atmosphere of the whole place is really worth a visit.. Tiger Leaping Gorge

Tiger Leaping gorge hiking tour is definitely a must when you are visiting a Yunnan province. It s definitely both mentally and physically challenging, depending on time you have to spend hiking. Actual Tiger leaping Gorge is a bit crowded, so if you want to enjoy hiking fully, you might consider to visit that first, than to go to the mountain. There s 2 path for hiking. Upper and middle tracking route. We did middle one, due to lack of time. We came to Naxi family Guesthouse by car, from there we climbed to the top of 28 bends, definitely most challenging part of the hike, and we came all the way back to Halfway guesthouse from where we organized a car to drop us back to the Qiaotou town. Tea horse guesthouse is definitely a must stay place, fat least for a beer or short break, but i would definitely recommend you to stay there over the night. Especially if you choose to hike couple of days, since full track is long about 22km. You have stunning view on Jade snow mountain. They seem unreal. Songzanlinsi: A Yellow Wonder

#discoverchina Even though it has the title of The Little Potala Palace, there was nothing little about this monastery that is painted in bright yellow and orange and its gold coated roof ornaments, each with its own meaning and representation. The pricier ticket comes with a bus service and a guide who detailedly explains every single major painting or history (which I had to skip most of due to time constraints) but you do have to climb about 100 steps up to the monastery in the thin air so do bring your oxygen containers. The view from the balcony of the main hall is stunning: the wetlands, the tiny village in which the monks live, the golden statutes, and the monks below performing rituals.

2 days 1 night hiking at Tiger Leaping Gorge

#chinatrip Tiger Leaping Gorge, located in Yunnan, China, is one of the deepest river canyons in the world. Nestled between the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain, it offers breathtaking views of towering cliffs, roaring rapids, and terraced farmlands. Starting at Naxi Ya Ge guesthouse, after 4-5hours of hike, we ate lunch Tea Horse Guesthouse which we can admire the views with a cup of coffee. After which, we continue hiking for 2hours which we finally reached the hotel of the night. We stayed at Judy Guest house during the night with a scenic balcony view of the Tiger leaping gorge. The next day was a chill hike to the last Zhang Lao Shi guesthouse at the end of the trail where the driver will pick us up.

Today, I'm sharing a super detailed Pudacuo travel guide to help you navigate this gem! 📅Best Time to Visit Pudacuo is beautiful year-round, but each season has its unique charm. From May to July, it's a feast of flowers, with azaleas blooming all over the mountains, transforming the park into a sea of blossoms. From September to November, autumn paints the forests in vibrant hues of gold and orange, resembling a natural oil painting. If you want to enjoy the snowscape, December to February is a good choice, with a fairytale-like world covered in silver. Balagezong Grand Canyon Park

Balagezong Grand Canyon park is located about 1.5-2 hours drive from Shangri-La, towards the north. The park contains some of the following scenic areas and attractions: - Tibetan Cultural Experience Center - Bala Village - Echo Wall High-Altitude Glass Skywalk - Shambara Natural Pagoda - Gallery Road - Bodhi Tree Since the park is very big and steep, it is required to use the shuttle buses of the park to go from place to place. The Tibetan Cultural Experience Center is actually a Tibetan Buddhist temple, which you can enter and even go up to the second floor. The Bala Village does not seem to be a real village. It is a complex of buildings belonging to a hotel inside the park. In the village there are two restaurants, one is the hotel's, and a second one sells traditional Tibetan food. The Echo Wall High-Altitude Glass Skywalk is reached after a relatively short hike along a path attached to the side of a cliff. From the skywalk you will be able to see a big part of the canyon. No one in the group that I traveled with attempted to shout in order to hear an echo. On the way back you can ride on a zipline for an extra fee. To go to Shambara Natural Pagoda you have to pay an extra fee (I'm not sure if it's 75 or 100RMB). Since I chose not to go there, I'm not sure what there is to see. According to the pictures I saw, it is a mountain peak in the shape of a Pagoda. The Gallery Road is a raised road along the river flowing in the canyon. The water there is crystal clear and flows rapidly. After walking about half an hour, you reach a boat house at the end of the road, where for an additional 100RMB you can choose to take a rubber boat back to the beginning of the gallery. The Bodhi Tree is located near the parking lot of the park, outside the park entrance. It is an ancient holy tree (a few thousand years old) growing on a cliff wall. The road to the park is beautiful, and I would consider it part of the attraction. #China #shangrila #balagezong
