Songfeng Mingyu Boutique Resort Homestay (Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Wulingyuan Branch)

Location was super near the Jiangjiajie National Park, it was within walking distance or taxi was only 6 renminbi (or less if you use coupons on your own). Also, it was within walking distance to the stores and restaurant on the main street, yet quiet enough for a good night sleep. Service was superb and their "butler" service was over and beyond. The sole of a shoe fell and they managed to buy and bring us a brand new sole glue as requested within 30 minutes. The butler's trip itinerary suggestions were also very well planned and detailed that we do not need to hire a tour guide for the whole trip, we can just do it ourselves. The auntie cooks breakfast for you every morning, and different options were available. They have adopted a cat and you can play with it in the lobby if you are lucky enough to see it! Most importantly, room is very warm even in Winter. The only down side was it was a bit far from the city centre (30 min drive) but thats what you get when you want to stay nearer to the mountains, and we were totally fine with that.

It was an incredible experience. The service was impeccable, with staff going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay, helping to plan and book the attraction tickets. The facilities were excellent. There is a hot tub to soak and rest your tired feet! The location was perfect, nestled conveniently between popular tourist attractions, making it easy to explore the area. Additionally, the hotel is surrounded by a variety of fantastic restaurants, offering plenty of dining options just a short walk away. Overall, it is ideal for a memorable and relaxing getaway.

This was perhaps our all-time favorite hotel experience. We felt so pampered! They had everything we needed - I felt like we somehow overpacked, haha. Our butler was amazing. Our Chinese is not great, and it was our first time traveling in China. Through WeChat, they helped us with planning an itinerary, booking tickets for the park, call Didi for us, and even helped us order takeout when we were jetlagged and starving. He was quick and very accommodating. This hotel is also amazing in its decor, cleanliness, and breakfast! Unfortunately, we didn't have time to drink tea in their tea room, but they had spaces with mahjong, tea rooms, and more! Great for groups to socialize. Breakfast was great in variety and taste every morning. It was probably our favorite part. Homemade and delicious meal. They also helped accommodate our 7am breakfast when we needed to checkout early. I'm not sure if we will ever visit Zhangjiajie again, but this hotel has definitely changed my perspective on what an experience we can have. Thank you so much!

I did a last minute decision not knowing how to figure out what to do in zhanjiajie, and how to go about touristic sites as all tours were booked way in advance. Nevertheless, The ‘housekeeper’ or so as it translates on WeChat was an impeccable host. Didn’t speak English but the communication was prompt , precise and arranged my whole trip: schedules, guides etc . It was a one stop shop for me as he also kept the accounts books. The hotel is a cute one and there’s good taste in furniture and parts are under construction, even though it looks neat and tidy as is. It’s in the centre of town and all tourist sites are easy access. And didi is readily available unlike other far off resorts.

The only positive was that it had a great location along a stream and the bridge lights up at night which is beautiful.

The owner of the B&B is an architect who is responsible for all the major restoration works of the historic monuments in the region. He deigned the hotel himself and it can definitely show from the details how much thoughts are put into the place. We visited the place during chinese new year, the owner picked us up in person and the family helped to carry the luggage to the hotel. The place is centrally located yet felt completely removed from the hustling of the old town, especially during the CNY. The cleanliness is impeccable and those who appreciate details would definitely love this place!
