I would recommend this hotel to any foreigners who are not too good at speaking Chinese. Most of the staff speak English very fluently. They taught us tourist information such as where to visit with one and half-year-old baby.
The view of the Yulong River rafting from our room balcony was spectacular. The location was good. Easy to access Yulong river rafting spot.
The hotel restaurant has Chinese food and Western food, which we enjoy a lot. My husband said their sweet sour pork was one of the best. He sometimes had two sweet sour pork a day.
They put mosquito cents on at night so we didn't get any mosquito bites.
We would like to visit again if we have a chance.

Amazing stay at this resort!! Highly recommended!
Feels totally well taken care of by staff, who are friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Restaurant food was reasonably priced compared to outside venue. Love it even more that the hotel advocate sustainability by reducing single use plastics!
Easy to commute from hotel to tourists spot via DiDi. Communication with resort can be easily done via WeChat if needed.
All credit to the front desk ladies for their patience, good-nature and friendly reminders! During one of our evening excursion to watch the acclaimed Liu San Jie show, one of the ladies voluntarily gave us blankets to take along, highlighting that we will need it. And true enough, while other audiences either suffer the cold or had to rent additional clothing from street vendors outside the venue, we felt blessed wrapped up in a blanket. Thank you for the wonderful stay! Will choose this venue again when I next visit Yangshuo.

We loved our stay at Yangshuo Mountain retreat. It is one of the prettiest hotels situated right on the side of Yulong river. The hotel gardens are beautiful too. We stayed in a river view room with balcony and it was completely worth it. Room prices were very reasonable too. We spent a lot of time chilling in the balcony, admiring the scenery and sipping tea. There is a nice walking and biking track right outside the hotel which goes on for several kilometers along the river. The hotel also provides bikes for free which we used during the day to explore the track and returned in the evening. Overall, we had a great experience and rate this hotel 5/5

Now in 2023 I returned to Yangshuo Mountain Retreat, first visited in 2017. It is found at an idyllic spot on the Yulong River and is my favourite of the five hotels I have stayed at in the Guilin-Yangshuo area. It is more of a lodge. A day spent sitting at a garden table combined with a short Riverside walk brought me back after 6 years. The location I wold include as an amenity!
All staff speak English well, several remaining at the hotel over the years. It was nice to7 be able to reminisce with the staff met previously,, including Michelle who doubles up as a tour guide.

Great hotel in many ways. Dehumidifier provided. Nice furniture. Breakfast is by the river. Chinese breakfast was better. Juice is fresh. Great view . Best hotel in Yangshuo. We rented bikes and it was delivered. We had fun . I would recommend and stay here. Garden area is great for children. I will try room with balcony next time.

This beautiful hotel lives up to its reputation. The location is simply wonderful, close to the river and surrounded by the mountains, the lush green garden is the best place to relax in a busy Yangshuo. Lots to do around here but just sitting in the garden or on the balcony is beautiful enough. All the staff is incredibly helpful and genuinely kind- and everyone seems to be fluent in english. I thought I would miss not having a pool but honestly I think the peacefulness of this place might be spoiled by it.

Our favorite hotel in Yangshou! It’s located in the center of 10 mile gallery along Yulong river. We can see the river and mountains from our room. The room is very clean and beautiful, staff members are friendly and helpful. The food are great, and we did not go anywhere to have means but in the hotel. Can’t wait to go back when we visit Yangshuo next time.

The setting is really beautiful but during high season there are rafts of tourists flowing down stream from 8am-6pm - it takes away from the natural beauty of the place.
The room and setting is exactly as pictured and the food at the restaurant is tasty.

We had the most amazing experience at this hotel. The staff are the nicest people ever.
They patiently and warmly helped us with everything - buying tickets, booking taxis/didi, recommending activities, explaining routes.
They definitely spoil their guests. We were well taken cared of.
The hotel itself is gorgeous. We stayed at a room on the second floor with a terrace facing the river. The view is unbelievable. We were able to really relax and slow down.
We also loved the food, both the Western and Chinese!

Great staff, beautiful location, comfortable room, and the restaurant is very good and has many options. Great spot for exploring the area and the staff is very helpful in setting up anything from scooter rental to day trips at a fair price. No reason at all to go to or stay near West Street, this is a perfect area to stay in and explore the county.

This was our third stay at Yangshuo Mountain Retreat and we always love it here. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the service is great. No matter where you are on the property you always have a great view of the mountains and river. We would definitely recommend this place for families, friends, and couples.

I had an amazing time at Mountain Retreat and I'm extremely grateful for my stay there. The hotel's location is one-of-a-kind. It's the only hotel in the Yangshuo area that is so close to the river. I loved sitting on the terrace, sipping my coffee and fruit tea, while watching tourists float by on bamboo rafts. The view of the Yangshuo hills from the river promenade was absolutely stunning.
The staff at Mountain Retreat were fantastic, especially Kate and the other ladies at the reception. They made me feel very welcome and took great care of me.
The breakfast options at the hotel were some of the best in Yangshuo. I enjoyed yogurt with fruits, pancakes, and Guilin noodles. It was a delicious start to my day.
I also appreciated the hotel's commitment to nature. They used cloth napkins instead of paper tissues and refillable glass water bottles instead of plastic ones. It's nice to see a place that cares about the environment.
I'm already excited to go back to Mountain Retreat in September. Yangshuo is a truly magical place in nature, and this hotel captures its beauty perfectly. If you're looking for a unique and memorable experience, I highly recommend staying at Mountain Retreat.
