The cottage forest is a cottage located in funayuki, Yakushima CHO, Kumamo County, Kagoshima Prefecture. You can stay at an early American style house. On April 7, 2022, I climbed Mt. I stayed for ２ in October. It was about a 7-minute walk from the airport, so I arrived in the morning, so I had my luggage checked in before check-in, and I was able to leave it until I got on the plane on my way home, so it was very convenient. The airport is close, but the number of planes is small, so it is not noisy. Morning and night ２ It was a meal, but the food was very delicious, the number of items was very large, and the local ingredients were fashionably arranged and I was full. ４ I won't get tired of staying overnight with all the different contents. Everything from jam, dressing and yogurt was handmade by my wife. I was able to ask for a lunch box for a mountain climbing tour and it was delicious. It happened that we were the only customers due to the cancellation of the typhoon, so as soon as we came back, we prepared a bath and it was very comfortable with the friendly owner and wife. The price is reasonable and the room is shared but can be rented out. I was in a room with a toilet so there was no inconvenience. I think it's a very good inn. I would definitely recommend it if you go to Yakushima.

The hotel is next to Miyanoura Pier. Although it only takes a five-minute walk to arrive, we were overwhelmed by the heavy rain when we got off the high-speed ferry. We called the hotel for help and sent a car to the pier within 5 minutes to make us reach the hotel safely. Thank you for the extra help. We ordered breakfast and dinner for two days. The hotel was able to provide a non-repetitive menu, and we were very satisfied with the quality and quantity. The soup was also great.

We spent 2 nights here at the beginning of March and absolutely loved it. We had two Japanese style rooms (one per person), with Tatami mats on the floor and Futons as a bed. We had a toilet, but a bit strangely no shower, which was not a problem, because in the indoor and outdoor baths, there are good shower facilities. The rooms are a bit small, but totally okay for one person (for two persons it would be a bit crowded). The indoor and outdoor baths are lovely and as usual, separated by gender. We had halfboard included, which was amazing. Dinner is a several courses Kaiseki dinner, and really tasty and diverse. If you dont eat meat, seafood and fish, you will not be happy however. Breakfast is a japanese bento box, and a small buffet. For lunch, you can order a bento box, which we did, and which was very tasty and the best bento box I had so far in 3 trips to Japan. Staff is very friendly, and even if they dont speak much englisch, they really go out of their way to help. The Ryokan is just opposite the small airport, where there is also a bus stop. In easy walking distance there are two supermarkets, and a very good italian restaurants (Il Mare), which make excellent pizza and pasta, using local ingredients like ****ake mushrooms and boar meat. The buses run very unfrequently, so you are better off with a rental car. Its excellent value for money, especially if you love japanese food.

We stayed 7 nights, and chose this guest house based on previous reviews. Probably because of end of year timing, there were no English speaking staff. The guest house was run by a very lovely elderly couple who ensured we were comfortable despite language barriers. This was the main reason for 5-star review. The tatami room was large and comfortable, but always smelt damp on entering. Had a sink in the room which was useful. The bath was just divine everyday after long hikes. We were the only guests for a few days, and realised the walls were quite thin on days with other guests. Most people were considerate of this. Free use of washing machine, dryer 100yen. Breakfast and dinners were great, traditional Japanese style - a must try. Ramen shop to the left of guest house is not on google maps - also a must try (just walk next door). We are a minute drive from large supermarket and yen store, and across from that is an amazing cafe/restaurant with top quality pasta and pizza, plus other fusion dishes. Perfect for a rainy slow day. Hired hiking for 2-days shoes for 1000yen. Very new and clean. They forgot to order our bento lunch boxes, and elderly gentleman was awake at 430am making rice balls for us that he would not charge us for. Very deserving of 5-stars and great to support a local family. Also check out Bless Yakushima in Anbo!

When I was looking for domestic ﾄﾚｯｷﾝｷﾞﾂｱｰ, I found a pack trip for the tour (basically, you can change your accommodation to a pension or hotel) and stayed at a guest house (Yakushiso). Our couple were mainly ﾄﾚｯｷﾝｸﾞ, so we weren't so particular about staying. The guest house was cleaned every day, the rooms, corridors, toilets, etc., and I was able to spend a comfortable time. The good thing about this homestay is that the meal content is devised every day and ｢ the meal is very delicious ｣. There is plenty of food volume (good for those who want to eat a lot). ﾄﾚｯｷﾝｸﾞ There is a perfect ”coin laundry” for the dirty things after that, and it is easy to do it when you are taking a bath. Also, it is very useful to take a bath 24 hours a day. Also, nearby (3 minutes), there are Ａ coops, bars, and restaurants where you can shop, which is very convenient. If you stretch your legs, you can go to food and bars. Even in the guest house, local specialties (fried flying fish, mackerel, etc.) were eaten at the restaurant and it was delicious. The weather was just blessed before the rainy season. (Jomon Sugi / Shiratani Unsuikyo ﾄﾚｯｷﾝｸﾞｶﾞｲﾄﾞ said that it was a good time for few people at this time.) I also went sightseeing in Yakushima and touched the nature of Yakushima, but it was a very good place. If you go, I think it's a place to take time. If we have a little bit, I would like to go again.
