Hotels in West Area, Xining

The location of the Boli Yabu Hotel is very convenient. There are a lot of shops around. Upon arrival we had a very warm welcome from the receptionist Xiao Yang. She helped us with the check-in and showed us the room. We also got a free upgrade to room with a nice view. The room was very clean and comfortable. We got a free welcome snack and some fruits. We would definitely recommend the hotel and book it again when returning to Xining.

Excellent location close to shopping and subway, heart of town. The lovely staff especially the housekeeping team at Floor 9B and the courteous and helpful staff at the restaurant. We loved the complimentary tea breaks and 银耳汤 and did lots of laundry as they thoughtfully provided 3 machines and a dryer in their laundry room. We had just spent 8 dusty days travelling Qinghai and Gansu so this amenity is such a blessing before we continue our journey to Shanghai. What I didnt like was that the hotel was located in a building shared with a few other hotels and lots of offices so the lift has lots of other people sharing and somehow isnt private and is slow. Also to hail a cab, you need to go out to the main road because the building has no driveway. But for the price we pay, the value way exceeds the cons.

This time I went to Qinghai with my friends and stayed in this newly opened hotel which was quite nice. The decoration was elegant and it was a local hotel in Haixi. The service was also good and the check-in efficiency was high. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable to sleep on. Give it a thumbs up!

The room was booked on the 11th floor, which was really comfortable. The hotel was like a different world from the outside world. The heating was really good. A fruit plate was also given. The front desk service is very good, especially the front desk staff Xiao Guo and Xiao Guan. The service is warm and gives people a warm feeling! Everyone is very polite and smiling. Anyway, it is bigger than the 400-a-night homestay in a small county next to Beijing. There is breakfast, and the staff are polite. It is not like a pigeon cage, and it is especially like a star hotel. It is high-end and upscale. I recommend staying here! By the way, the mineral water in the hotel is also delicious~

I will start off by saying that the room and bathroom were well appointed, the staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. However, whilst the room was generally clean, when I dropped something that subsequently rolled under a fitted unit, I was pretty disgusted to see the dust and filth beneath it. It clearly had not been cleaned for…well…ever? I appreciate that these areas will not be as clean as the more visible parts of the room, however for a five star hotel, this is unacceptable. I do not expect to find dirty tissues and a thick layer of dust and dirt anywhere in my hotel room. But by far the absolute worst part of my stay was the inability to control the temperature in the room whatsoever. The room was so swelteringly hot that despite the comfortable bed, and everything to go with it, I was almost unable to sleep at all. I do not expect this in a five star hotel(and have never experienced it other than here and at anther Wanda hotel in Hohhot), I pay for luxury; controlling the room temperature is a basic requirement that I can even do in a 50 yuan a night hostel dorm. When I asked the staff at reception the following morning I was told the AC wouldn’t be available until after April 15th because ‘it’s cold outside’. Firstly, I am not sleeping outside, I am sleeping inside, on the 22nd floor, where it is anything but cold. Not to mention it was April, not January, even in Xining it is not that cold. Secondly, as a paying guest, in a five star hotel, it should be up to me to decide if it is hot or cold, not the hotel. For this reason, as lovely as the room, staff and breakfast may have been, I would not stay here again. I checked out and moved to the lower rated Hilton, where I could control the room temperature and actually managed to sleep…generally what the whole point of a hotel is.

The hotel facilities are satisfactory, the service is good, parking is convenient, and there are many types of breakfast. The only downside is that the floor heating is too hot. The indoor temperature is 28 degrees at night, and it is so hot that I sweat. After asking the front desk to turn off the floor heating in our room, the temperature is still above 25 degrees.
